And when tomorrow gets it’s eyes, and the night rests, shall we forever, maybe, go the same way” Not really 100 correct, cause it’s hard to directly translate the poetic aspect but that’s pretty much translated what they sing
The poetic aspect is that they say "når i morgen får øjne" instead of the more common "når i morgen åbner øjnenene". The phrasing they use is normally only used to describe the first time a kitten or puppy opens its eyes. It directly translates to "when tomorrow gets eyes", which unfortunately doesn't sound quite as beautiful in English.
Volbeat recycles riffs and vocalisations over and over and yet every time. Every time. It's fresh and epic. I don't know how they do it, but I hope they keep doing it. 🤘

One of my absolute favourite songs and one of the best songs ever written! Danish is such a cool language, so closely related to my mother tongue German, and yet so different.
Danish is very closely related to German and Dutch despite being a Nordic language (I know they are all Germanic, but the branches are different). The words are Nordic but the pronunciation is heavily influenced by German and Dutch. Personally as a Dane I feel especially at home in the Netherlands due to this. When I walk down the streets of a city like Amsterdam the speech in the background feels like Danish until I listen to the actual words spoken and my brain goes "wait it's not." The reverse of the feeling I get in Stockholm where I don't recognize the intonation, but I recognize the words once I stop and listen to them. Not all Danes like to admit it, but I always felt Danish was very German in nature, and it's why the Norwegians and Swedes like to make fun of our language, they share a very different way of speaking to the one Danes adopted and share in part with Germans.

One thing good about finding a band you never listen to before and falling in love with their music is that you have a lot of music that you got to listen to. Unfortunately my wallets not going to love me here soon lol. Absolutely love these guys, just came across them the other day. I'm not a radio listener so that's why I probably never heard them

Talk about a band that crossed many cultures/languages/borders, just in that one phrase look how music is universal, this band is incredible. I'm just getting into them fully but as a musician I've fallen in love with pretty much everything I've heard.

Danish is very closely related to German and Dutch despite being a Nordic language (I know they are all Germanic, but the branches are different). The words are Nordic but the pronunciation is heavily influenced by German and Dutch.
Personally as a Dane I feel especially at home in the Netherlands due to this. When I walk down the streets of a city like Amsterdam the speech in the background feels like Danish until I listen to the actual words spoken and my brain goes "wait it's not." The reverse of the feeling I get in Stockholm where I don't recognize the intonation, but I recognize the words once I stop and listen to them.
Not all Danes like to admit it, but I always felt Danish was very German in nature, and it's why the Norwegians and Swedes like to make fun of our language, they share a very different way of speaking to the one Danes adopted and share in part with Germans.
I could listen to whatever they say forever.. I'm sure it's a 100% a positive message.. love this band!!
