    This was awesome. I was on the carnival Horizon last month, and we were leaving Aruba. I noticed that a tug boat was pulling a long side the ship and was wondering why. Now I know that someone was getting off the ship on to the tug boat

    Not sure if you actually read these comments, but I just stumbled across this video tonight. I must say you have hit on something that NONE of the other cruise vloggers have done. The Harbor Pilot was a stroke of genius. Every other streamer talks about the same things all the time. This idea of the role of the pilot was perfect. It was still relative to cruising and port operations but distinctive enough to set you apart from the status quo. But, here is the question. What are you going to do now? I'm about to hit Platinum with Carnival which means by the end of January I will have more than 75 days of cruising. I gather from one of your videos, you and your family are frequent cruisers too. Use your out of the box thinking and your creativity to generate fresh, relatable content that can strike a cord with your subscribers. This will increase your fan base and give you greater appeal to those who wish to finance your efforts.
    Lastly, you look fairly young and your confidence has helped you overcome the natural obstacles in talking to authority figures. Use that to your advantage when you brainstorm your next approach to the content.
    Good job!

    I saw the Pilot boat and a guy climbing down on one of your videos but didn't know anything about it. This was a very interesting and informative video. I'll be on my very first cruise out of Port Canaveral March 23. Thanks for the video!

    Nice. I wanted to know does a Harbor Pilot ever actually take control of the cruise ship during docking ?

    • @TheTylerShow
      @TheTylerShow  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Nick! From my knowledge It is very rare that a harbor pilot takes control of actually doing the maneuvers on cruise ships. On cargo vessels at certain ports the pilot will indeed take over the vessels controls and manually dock the vessel but for most ports with cruise ships the pilot just takes the con which means that they go and direct the vessels movement however they do not actually take controls of the ship. For example, in Canaveral to stay in the channel to disembark the pilot, the ship will neeed to travel on a course of 130 degrees so the order will be given by the pilot to the ships master to move the ship a certain number of degrees so that it will be traveling at 130 degrees by the time they reach the sea buoys in which the pilot will disembark.
