There's a lot you missed out that helps explains some of the things you were confused about. As for why there's a war journal and a the edgy title cards for the levels, it's because there's a supernatural subplot in this game where the Postal Dude is being tricked by a demon. The title cards is the demon talking, and the War Journal is the Postal Dude. You can actually find out in the sound files that there's two separate voices for the Postal Dude. Whenever he gets hurt, it's not Rick Hunter making the grunts but the creator of the game. The file name for Rick Hunter's lines are named "the demon." Even without going into the files you can go into the audio mix and find a setting to mess around with the audio for Rick Hunter's lines. They're also named "demon." This whole subplot keeps Postal from being lumped in with Hatred, along with what you mentioned with the war journal entries. It's another layer that keeps the Postal Dude sympathetic to a degree.
Thanks for the shoutout and everything lol. I enjoyed the video and going into the Postal 1 world is a bit of a doozy to figure stuff out. There's a bit of hidden demon stuff and other meanings to it and there are a few hidden things in Postal 2 that reference it (although the tones are much more tamed in the 2nd game). It was definitely pushing things back then video game wise and there's a lot of fan theories about the two different endings (redux and original). I believe the sequel leans more towards the "patience running thin" things but there are a bit of things can be more towards the more demon aspect. The hidden shrine, the mad cow transformations, and more of the dlc story things. Despite it being a little crazy at times I enjoy the series a bunch! I was first introduced to it from a coworker that said I looked just like him. I did start leaning into it as time has gone on and found some props here and there for cosplaying during videos lol. Most times it's edgy humor and slightly offensive stuff in the games, but I try to cut around those parts. I am currently doing the 4th game :D and yes I'll be doing the Wednesday outfit haha. I played the Redux for the first time with some friends and they explained a bit of it as we were playing. It is a bit disturbing at times and I think you did a good job capturing the feeling of players experiencing it for the first time. I can see why it was banned for a bit in a few countries.
Oh man what whiplash I felt when I started watching this! I'm loving this new turn though, I think it suits you! Can't wait to see more scripted game videos!
6:43 blacklisted is a synonym for banned, which means they're used for the same context, but with very minor differences. So they are essentially the same
@Slippey1 Yeah whenever people talked about Postal being the most brutal video game ever and I saw Postal 2 footage I was so confused lol. So now I understand what they were talking about and wish the games stayed like this, I love a protagonist who's actually a horrible human being
@Slippey1 getting actual fecal matter inside an open wound and being butt r**ped and having anal bleeding ( perpetrated by giant penis guards) and fighting skinless gods but also avoiding getting eaten by dogs at the very start of the game.. (though, it has a pretty riveting story and surprisingly deep lore)... thats what Fear and Hunger is 😂.
An essay on how The Wonderful 101 Remastered is the most important game in existence due to how promotive of anti-cynicism it is would be nice. Not enough of those on the Internet. The case of people not realising in the slightest just HOW MUCH they need something they clearly simply are not aware of existing.
On the contrary - playing games like these is important, same as its important to know the stories of serial killers, because it showcases the BAD EXAMPLE that one should avoid.

Today I learned that the Postal 1 protagonist is just my average Cataclysm Dark Days Ahead character
Slipper documentary 10/10
hatred and postal (1) are kind of the same game or well hatred took "inspiration" from postal
This video has received some copyright strikes, that's why there might be some weird cuts in the video
Can’t wait to watch your video about postal 2
I'm not sure if I'll make a video on Postal 2 in this style, but i do have older gaming videos on it
i actually love your videos so much, hope u blow up!!
Whaaaat, why is the og Postal such a cool concept, I wish it stayed like this
It's so interesting how they did a complete 180 and starting making goofy games

30:00 THATS MY BOYFRIEND LETS GOOO!!!!! We met through his first video on Postal 2!
lol that's awesome
Tbh i like the documentary better, it gives you a lot more talking room than random screaming
I'm actually really happy to hear this. I will continue to make more, but the usual gaming videos will still be more common
The screaming is still appreciated tho!

You shouldn't play games like this.

I agree, but i also understand hating games like this. i just find it odd they would tell me not to play games like this.
