      For going you would get internet (for viewing/sending stuff to earth), basic survival needs (houses, food, infrastructure,etc, would have to be designed with expansion in mind), and whatever else. I think a government would be necessary, but it should be run in a way where it only impedes on, rationing, order, etc. As time goes on police forces would need to be implemented. Also no money. Either wise corporations could corrupt the system. It would be, people get to yay or nay policies. But only certain people would be allowed to suggest new policies unless a majority has a consensus.

      He's part of them. As a matter of fact, I have serious doubt that this "project" will ever succeed. While he bever build an actual test model nor has any experience with manned spaceflight altogether (just freight) nor deep space travel. Let alone a deep space manned space vehicle.... that magically can transport a 100+ people at a time, for multiple months. No mentioning of life support systems, supplies to drag along, fuel, oxygen, waste management, energy production, oxygen, waterreclamation and purification , just to name a few. And don't get me started on the long term effect of lack of gravity, being cramped together and the frickin' dangers of being exposed to interplanetary, deep space radation. But ! He surprisingly knows that all this require about 10 billion dollars ! (Insert dr. evil meme here) 10 billion dollars. Taxpayers dollars that is, because this project / mission / voyage / whateverthehellyouwanttocallit cannot simply survive aka exist without any government support by the way of issued funds by NASA.There's a significant suspicion that this Musk character is just a conman. Besides, it has come to my attention as well that meanwhile his lithium-battery production facility regarding Tesla is enduring grave problems as we speak, and that a necessary selling of this complex is imminent. In short: what isbeing portrayed here is a deep, deep well where lots, LOTS of taxpayers money will just dissappear. With what result? I fear not much. Not much at all.

      300?! Why so much? If we are going to mars in 8 years then surely we can go to jupiters moons 50 - 100 years after that, max. I think the space business in general will start to fire up as mars develops, so I would say that's possibly when corporate mining can start. Though that's all speculation. And I'm not sure what they would want to mine there in the first place, that you can't get elsewhere with much less effort.

    We could basically use this planet as a large factory. We can produce any pollution there we want, we can rip anything out of it's surface, just like we please. The exploration of the solar system would be much easier, starting from Mars because of it's low gravity.

    • @allenqueen
      @allenqueen 7 ปีที่แล้ว +51

      no
      doing the same things that are making humans considering going inter-planetary wont be a good thing
      and Mars isn't some big rock in space,it has the potential to become a living functioning planet for living things,maybe it even was some time in the past

    • @Rubashow
      @Rubashow 7 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      Kakashi Hatake It has no water, it barely has an atmosphere and it cannot be protected from solar winds, that caused it's atmosphere to deplete in the first place. Why not outsource everything that damages Earth to Mars to create an engine for space exploration and dangerous research, instead of imitating something that we already have here on earth?
      If you consider the amount of resources that have to be carried to Mars only to create a lake like the Caspian sea it would take tens of thousands of spaceships for thousands of years only to ship water. Why bother? At the moment, Mars is a red rock. Turn it into a giant laboratory and factory.

    • @Rubashow
      @Rubashow 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ***** What methods to beef up the atmosphere are there? Are they feasible? On the other hand, it's true that a low of water seems to be locked in ice, enough to flood large parts of the planet, provided we find a way to melt it.

I mean, he already stated he doesn't mind torturing ("way beyond waterboarding") without trials and killing innocent people including kids (if they happen to be relatives to someone suspected of terrorism). These are things he has said OK. He said he doesn't believe foreigners suspected of terrorism have the right to not be tortured. He said that he would kill the family members of terrorists. I hope you didn't know these things. Check his website.

    • @billtoney689
      @billtoney689 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      No problem, just haul asteroids into synchronized orbit around Mars, they will join together to form a moon and the tidal forces exerted on Mars will warm the interior and get a robust magnetic field back in place. The tidal forces would also spur vulcanism which will thicken and warm the atmosphere. Like I said, no problem, we just have to rearrange the solar system a little bit.

    • @willcowan7678
      @willcowan7678 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @billtoney689
      @billtoney689 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      What do you think keeps Earth's core molten Benedek? It's the tidal forces caused by the pulling of the Moon on the Earth. Mars will require something of similar mass ratio in orbit to liquefy its core and create a magnetic field to protect the atmosphere we will create there. Of course it is a monumental undertaking, we are talking about terraforming a planet, something that's been complete science fiction before. It's absolutely possible, we will use a combination of gravitational redirection and 3D printed engines for fine tuned maneuvering. You lack vision.

      Indeed, both have been quoted as now having high hopes that they will actually live to see a sustained human presence on Mars.
      Really, think about the enormity of the disparity between what was accomplished in less than a decade, with the Apollo program, and the glacial pace of human space exploration, in the nearly 50 years since...and still, NASA's most optimistic projection of putting boots on Mars is well into the 2030s. I was less than one year old when Apollo 17 left the lunar surface in December of 1972...and it appears that, if we must wait for NASA, I will qualify for senior citizen discounts by the time NASA make another _Giant leap for mankind_ by landing astronauts safely on the surface of Mars.
      I've gotten to a point where I'm rooting for anyone to get us there...you know, before much more of my scalp is visible beneath my thinning hair, and before the music of my youth is not merely "Classic Rock", but truly Golden Oldies.

      That's what happens when NASA is underfunded. They were going to build a new space shuttle but the US scraped it back in the 2000s.

      "Imagine a world with no differences." We'd make new differences in a heartbeat - it would just be dorsa brevians against vallis marinerians or maintenance class vs scientist class or something based on persistent human differences (at least short term), like race, religion, culture, ethnicity.

    Sorry kid, but I have to laugh about the naivety in your predictions. "What will they do there? Universities and research institutions." Dude, they will be concentrating on basic survival and living conditions. Universities are dying even here on earth. At a small population place like Mars if someone wants an education they will use an Internet based university. As for your exporting predictions about tractors or whatever, Mars will essentially be like the Caribbean: a vacation and tourist destination. The Caribbean doesn't export major products to us, and neither will Mars, and if they tried to it would cost 100x what it costs to manufacture on Earth.

    Oh man, the TH-cam algorithm knows me so well! Great video man, I wish you the best of luck with your channel. I'm gonna give you some critique here because I'd like to see your channel do well. Take it as you please. The animation quality was great, but looked a little strange when your images were moving really fast, perhaps your FPS was too low? Audio was also pretty good, what microphone are you using? Perhaps a little bit extra foam or soft material to absorb a bit of reverberation would really help you.
    I've also subscribed btw, good luck!

    Great video! Gottta say, though, please improve the voiceover audio. I don't know if it's a gain level issue or a goofy mic, but there's a noise hum the whole way through. Maybe you need to lowpass filter it though a DAW? Minor detail, and the only reason I'm being a butt about it is because that is the ONLY thing that isn't A+ quality content here. Regardless, I liked and subbed. Good work.
