    Many SD implementations now have a grid upscale feature that cuts your original picture into little chunks and then does Img2Img to upscale them with added context-aware details. Works really well for large landscape/cityscape type scenes.

    Excellent (but very fast) explanation...........except for one thing you said which confused me. This is relating to image resolution. Unless I misunderstood you it seemed like you said; "resolution doesn't matter, whether 72 ppi or 300 ppi, makes no difference." Are you saying that there would be no noticeable difference in image quality between say, a 3000ppi x 4000ppi (physical size) image at 72ppi or 300ppi resolution? If so, I most definitely have to disagree. Their would definitely be a big difference in image quality between a canvas size of 10" @ 72ppi and 10" @ 300ppi (I must be missing something???)

    nice video just a tip.... you dont need to open the image in a new tab and then copy paste it in template. you can simply drag n drop it there. This way it will be placed as a smart object and not as rasterized layer. scaling up or down the smart object wont affect the resolution while with the rasterized image you ll lose quality :)

    • @analog-dreams
      @analog-dreams  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In Windows at least, dragging from browser to Photoshop hasn’t worked for me since the Windows 7/CS6 days. Dunno why, but across multiple PCs and windows installs it never has.
      But also when pasting an image lower res than your canvas, it’ll paste at full resolution, so as long as you’re only scaling up (not down/up/down etc) any quality impact would be the same. Native res scaled up to canvas as rasterized or smart object will look the same.
      But if you plan on scaling repeatedly to get a correct fit or for more complex edits, 100%!

    • @187designz

      @@analog-dreams yeah, I saw the video. I m just saying... gotta save it, upscale it in gigapixel or whatever app you want and then drag n drop it as a smart object. The quality will remain the same even if you scale it down first and then scale it up. If you open it in another window, copy paste it into the new template as a simple layer, not as smart object, and then scale down and up, you ll lose quality :)

      This is factually untrue about how processors work and any intense workloads like video rendering, 3D work, encoding, etc will keep your cpu pegged at 100% if it is needed. Totally fine.
