      Hi Matt, thanks for the subscribing! There will be plenty more CJ-7 projects on the channel.
      What stage are you at with your CJ?

      @@thelarsongarage not sure what happened to my reply, I'll try again lol. So I have an 82 CJ-7 Laredo with a 6cyl 4.2 258. I have had it for about 18 years and did a full frame off / new frame (made from Stainless steel) and had many adventures with it, however over the years the tub completely rusted away. I live in northern Ontario Canada and it is rough on vehicles. so over the last 2 years I have been welding and replacing all the body panels and components that were bad. I put a fresh coat of paint on it and have been working to have "everything" work on the jeep including the gas gage haha. It is a never ending project as I know you are aware but I don't mind the work and have always liked the CJ style. I have been doing upgrades here and there, I am just waiting for my front and rear lockers to come in. the last couple years has been hard to get parts. thank you again for the content, I look forward to seeing your future projects!

      @@mattcave74 Nice! It's tough trying to keep the rust away, especially if they salt the roads where you live like they do around me. I don't drive my CJ on the road in the winter, I have a rusted out TJ for that.
      I've had the same struggle getting parts, it took me about 4 months to get a set of Chromoly axle shafts.
      Thanks for the support!

      @@thelarsongarage as of the last two years I finally have a garage/workshop and have been parking the CJ in the garage for the winter, I don’t want to have to replace all the panels for the 3rd time, well because of rust, I may do trail damage lol. Yes lots of Salt here in northern Ontario, Canada. Take care, thanks for chatting!

    Why not just remove pitman arm and turn steering straight and put arm back on?

    • @thelarsongarage
      @thelarsongarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jason, thanks for the question, my thought process was that might throw off the "center" of the steering box movement. So then the Jeep might turn more to left than it would to the right. (If the steering box is 4 turns lock to lock then when driving straight it would no longer be in the middle at 2 turns away from each "lock")
      But maybe I'm over thinking it and moving it one spline over I wouldn't even notice.

    Where did you get you flat fenders?

    • @thelarsongarage
      @thelarsongarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Bob, the front fenders are home-made out of some light tubing and sheet metal. We made them long before I started the YT channel so unfortunately I don't have a video on the process of making them.

    What color did you paint the jeep? paint code

    • @thelarsongarage
      @thelarsongarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Amanda, I'm asking myself that same question now. I can't seem to find the old paint can from 10+ years ago that might have said it.... I know it's an International Harvester color, and looking at color charts online I'm thinking that it is a 1973 color "Medium Green Metallic" Paint code #5864
      I guess we'll find out if my guess is right when I buy more paint to do some touch up work.
