I liked the addition of Hermes cab because can't be speeding through Nevada and Colorado when your wanted for destroying a national monument 😅. If I could change or add one thing it would be to see Percy's powers to communicate with the Zebra since it's a horse and the truck escape it would have added those last 7 minutes to get to that 40 min runtime but that's the only real thing I feel this was missing. All in all an easy 7.8 out of 10 imo.
Yesss! Even though it was short, they were still able to add lores and information that will be very relevant to the whole story (by whole I mean all five seasons) without forgetting the whole reason why they were there. Not a single minute wasted. Can't wait for the finale eps. I'm sure it'll be very hypeee.
Hermes was warned not to help them, but he actually DID want to help them. He knew Annabeth would take his keys, hence why he left the letter. Also, if he didn't care about Luke he wouldn't have even spoken to them once they told him Luke was their friend.
"that's a way to go to the underworld" hahahshhshshshshshhshs I didn't even realize 😂 that sure would have been an easy way I think this episode utilized the 30 minutes really well, they got a lot done and it didn't seem so short
I was happy to see Luke again, too. Hope we have at least an episode at the camp in season 2 and maybe some camp-scenes in the finale. As a book-reader I'm very excited to your reaction to the finale!
I really liked this episode! I do agree it was too short and they would benefit from more 20 minutes to develop the casino situation, but I also think they did a good job with the time they had. Also, I think the actors are more comfortable with their characters and the pacing of the episode was good. This is the best Percy vibe so far by Walker and the writing. About Augustus, I think he was looking for Pan and got stuck in the casino. In my opinion, Augustus was there to show the damage the casino can cause in a person that gets traped in there
Just watched it. Good episode for me. Lots of things I loved this episode: Lin-Manuel Miranda as Hermes, Iris messaging (which happens before last week's episode in the book), "Wise Girl", the lotus flowers (the only good thing that came out from the movies). In the book they actually take a taxi to LA so Percy driving the (NY?) taxi is so funny and him honking like a true new yorker had me laughing so hard 😂 Love the set for the Lotus Casino & Hotel. Very happy we got to see the arcade area and the VR space. And the casino, of course. Also, 4 pearls? that's different. Augustus isn't in the book. More backstory for Grover, which is nice. I didn't even see the zebra, nice spot Corey! Doesn't change the fact that we see the Zebra for 2 seconds and there's no interaction with Percy. As a book reader, that actually really annoys me. I can't believe there is 2 episodes left. These should be amazing, very important scenes coming up, I cannot wait! PS: I was so surprised out they mentioned Luke's mom May. Kinda freaked out because they only mention her in the last book. That's a very early set up but I like it!
This episode covered stuff that is relevant in future books. I loved that they are already tracing the path towards that, but for non readers it could feel meh. I hope we get the 5 seasons
Movie recommendation for you to react to: BARBARIAN (2022), this is a very good and subversive horror film, it has unexpected and intense moments, you'll enjoy it
Nice episode! Cronus must be the man Percy sees in his dream, because Cronus was dethroned and locked up in Tartarus by his sons. It makes sense that Kronos would want revenge by starting a war between Poseidon and Zeus. I really liked Hermes, excellent actor who plays the Greek god. I love all the Olympians introduced in the series. They are all great actors playing deities.
Ngl but even though most of the changes make sense, this episode was pretty boring for the most part. I would’ve liked to have seen the kids have fun while being distracted, kind of like a boondocks style thing like they did in the books.

Satyrs age at half the speed of mortals. So he'd be mentally 12. I'm pretty sure in the books he was 28. So emotionally 14.
Correct, he was 28 in Satyr years in the book 👍🏼👍🏼

Just read my comment I meant California not Colorado 😅

really enjoyed this episode, favourite part is the meeting with hermes
Yeah in the books the zebra plays a more important role but I guess they cut that part
Sad
