Great review! I'm on my second R88 (sold the first one, got sad about it, then bought another, lol) and I couldn't love it more. A question about how you tracked these files though - looking at the waveforms, everything looks really balanced between left and right. Did you set the preamps to get snare peaks at roughly equal volume between both sides or did you set each preamp at identical level? I always set mine to be at the same gain level and usually have the snare peaking at a much higher volume on one side.
First off jealous of your room. Second -- great demo (one of the best I've seen on TH-cam) for the R88 on drums. I've watched a lot of demos of this mic on various sources and I'm very close to pulling the trigger on it. I have some Stager ribbons I used in my room that do a great job but would like to add this as well. It's a bit more versatile overall.
which position was your favorite? any other placements we should try next? let us know!👇🏻
Man I love your studio. Such a calm vibe
the R88 is amazing, doesn't sound bad on anything - great showcase on drums! more of this stuff please!
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Great Demo..Love the R88 on so many sources being a string player(Violin viola Upright)
Curious what pre's or console your using with the AEA R88? 😄
these were run through Neve 1073s!
