    I’ll save you 7 minutes..
A man far too old to be wearing adidas originals thinks his SUV is not suitable for his family so he buys a 7 year old estate car. His dog can get in and out. which pleases him. He is planning some minor modifiations to the estate car. Apparently his 7 year old estate car could be a bit unreliable, as it is a 7 year old estate car. He is pleased with the estate car though, as it is roomy. Apparently he wishs to “keep us informed” of how he gets on with the 7 year old estate car. Wow, can’t wait.

I've had two A6 models and my experience is that they are pretty reliable. My first A6 C6 3.0 tdi had 150+ k miles on it when I part exchanged it and other than the rear wiper motor, which goes wrong on all Audis with water ingress to the wiper motor circuit board, tyres, brakes and wheel bearings were all I had to replace. I liked the car so much I purchased an S6 C7.5 and again have only had a few very minor issues. A split in the air filter to turbo(s) flexi pipe and a faulty fuel flap actuator. Maybe I've been lucky but I love the A/S6 and believe if the car has regular oil changes they offer relatively trouble free motoring.

I had a 2010 A6 bought it with 100k on the clock sold it with 300k on the clock 7yrs Later apart from servicing a couple of cam belts & tyres never let me down 50-60mpg what’s not to like & I changed it for new A6 rewind repeat 💯 reliable👍

Good to see an ordinary car reviewed. Had my A6 C6 2L TDI manual gearbox for over 10 years now and reliable as anything. Zero hours off the road. Pass me my pipe and slippers.

I've had many an audi c7 A6 amongst them. No more bother than any other premium vehicle really. I've had a black edition now for over 2 years. It hasn't missed a beat and nearly 100,000 miles. Driven daily. Looked after loved and serviced regularly. Owning these are great if Looked after. The best outta the big 3 prestigious German cars in my opinion. ❤

My brother has a regular 2 litre diesel 2015 but saloon. Not very exciting but nice comfy daily especially for long motorway journey. Had it couple of years only thing that's gone wrong is egr valve which he bought used for £50

Hard to reconcile daily driver use with a high cost, unreliable car. Recognize that you weren’t aware of issues related to this particular model, but Audi overall is far from a model of reliability. Why not a Japanese SUV for the daily grind with the Porsches reserved for fun. And this is probably sacrilege, but hate to see a dog impact car choice! The kids get neater as the years go by but the dogs issues getting into the car??

After driving German cars I did exactly what you recommended - now I hate my car because no Japanese can compare to German vehicle. Handling sucks. Cheap. Floaty suspension. Higher cost of maintenance.

The C7 is almost bullet proof from my experience and talking to others
I love my 2012 A6 Avant, only ever had brakes and tyres other than a rear wiper motor and it’s on 179k miles with no failed MOT just like your car. Mine has also had a stage 1 remap and gets 48mpg. Jeez my car even has auto park
    Love it

For the rattle at the rear, check the boot cover!
You should drive your car on a bumpy road with the boot cover rolled (retracted) in... And see if anything changes!
On my Avant that's what it's been rattling, the 2 spots where the boot cover locks in worn out with time and made some place enough for the boot cover to slightly "shake" you could also try move it with your hand while it's hooked in and listen for any rattling!

My mum had this car (except not black edition, fwd and it was 2015) and it was absolutely amazing to be driven in and it certainly felt like it had enough “umph” but I loved it a lot.

Unfortunately I had a 2014 2.0 TDI blk edition C7 A6 avant and I was very unlucky. Throttle issue and was replaced, £800. ad blue pump had a known fault by Audi and a new pump had already been manufactured for replacement. Had an AdBlue warning and ended up being replaced. £1200. Both window actuators failed a month apart, £800. Had a pending electric motor handbrake failure. All within 9 months. Drive shaft was also due to be replaced also, £700. Only had 65K on the clock. Maybe I was just unlucky; but got rid very quickly and was sad to see it go.

Great car choice. Solid build. Nice color. Always great interiors (until the etrons anyway).
For that rattle: If the car has a pull-up pet screen, make sure it's not put in upside down. Someone borrowed my A4 Avant and put it back in upside down and the rattle was maddening...easy fix though.
PS: I've never had an issue with my Audi (2012) - and it has around 75K miles on it. Regular maintenance is all it takes.

    • @RomanTrollanski
      @RomanTrollanski ปีที่แล้ว

Might not have the pet screen, but the boot/trunk cover could be the culprit...

I've been daily driving a 2012 TDI S-Line (by the way the least problematic year for the A6 Avant) for about 6 years now. And it's solid. Keep on top of serviceable items and it's a dream! Still going strong at 185k miles, interior is as I've treated it, great!

  • @andrewrobinson391

Strange that it has no electric seats, I've had the same car (UK model) several times both older and younger and all have electric seats. Start stop has never worked, but that's a bonus for me rather than problem and the rear black vertical sills have a tiny bit of bubble until black paint. I tried a 3.0 TDi but found it noisy and thirsty. On my 3rd of these now and planning on keeping my 2017 version until it dies, love it. Worth noting the new shape 2018 onwards A6 black edition does not come with premium audio (Bose or equiv), rear climate control or full leather.

A massive issue with a car of your age now is the EGR Cooler if this hasnt been replaced, its a massive flaw to the 2.0 TDI. I've just been quoted £1660 for mine to be replaced.

Good video AlSatch. I’m new to your videos as I’m new to Porsche ownership. I’ve just bought my first Porsche a 2006 997 carrera 4S. Like you I’ve opted for Audi avant but I opted for the A4 200bhp avant. I’m very interested in your Porsche ownership opinions but as I don’t want it to be my daily driver, I’m interested in what options are out there as a daily driver without opting for a something to boring. Keep up the good work

It would be interesting to compare other series of this model. I found in a couple of places that the 2016 model of this car is much more unreliable than the 2018 generation (when it comes to the 3.0tdi engine).

I just sold a 3.0BiTdi A6 Black edition. Never felt an affinity with the car and had a feeling that it was going to bite me big time.
Lovely, powerful but also massive, always seemed to hang out of parking bays.
Replaced it with a 987 Boxster S. Much more fun.
