So hear me out... Chrome eagle... keyboards for wings. Piano key neck tie. White high tops. Neon pink shades. Puffa waistcoat. These are my thoughts for the album cover. What you think? :p Great tute. Appreciated as always.
I just got Avengers 90s preset pack (on sale). So much nostalgia. They are sample based similar to Nexus. If a sound is sample based, is it still a synth sound? I think not. To me a synth sound is made from scratch mathematically from a signal, a sine wave or something. Wavetable and physical modelling are gray areas for me. They can both probably be made from samples which means the source code for them contains "noise" that is not needed. I like them more than samples because of the filesize and the extended tweakability. What do you think? Is a sample in a synth a synth sound?
I really like that pack too! you bring up an interesting question and I completely see your view point, I think for me I'd say a sample in a synth can still be a synth sound, but it really depends on what it is. If I sampled out a patch for each note of a juno and imported those samples in avenger as a multisample, I'd still call it a synth sound, but on steroids, because in that case I'd have an authentic juno sound, with all the bells and whistles avenger has to offer. I've even sampled out some of my patches in other synths and imported them to avenger for even more flexibility. It's a really cool thing!
@@jonaudio Thanks for your input. I think what you describe is more like a Rompler. There are Kontakt synth libraries but I don't think of them as synths as the sounds are static. To be fair even M1 and other "synths" from way back are sampled based. That fooled me. To conclude I think it's fair to call it "synth emulation" sounds/presets.
The vintage sounds never get boring.
100% agree with you there!
As always !! Amazing !!
Hell yeah!! Thanks!
this would be really useful if i had this synth 😅
