Some people still think that Avenger is like Nexus, but that is absolutely not the case. You can do pretty everything with Avenger. The only limit is your imagination. Great Tips, Jon!

yeah avenger's possibilities are insane! It's one of those synths that feels like anything is possible and at the same time its enjoyable to do too

I don’t see this replacing serum or massive

Picking any instrument is a very personal choice, there are so many factors that come into play. With synthesizers, it can be the UI, Workflow, sound quality, features, modulation capabilities, and how using it makes you feel.
I never got into massive but no one can deny the influence that synth had during its peak years.
Serum is another synth that arrived at the right time with the right features and workflow and sounded fantastic. The wavetable editor in Serum is designed very well and makes wavetable creation a rather enjoyable experience.
For me personally there was something about serum that kept me from enjoying it as much as other synths.
When pigments came out I really gravitated toward that synth and stopped using serum.
Then when I got avenger and really looked over the features it has, the sound quality, the UI, the workflow and honestly just how much fun I was having making patches, it quickly became my favorite synth.
All in all I don't think it needs to replace any synth, they can both be useful in different ways. Even with avenger being my favorite. I still use pigments, the v collection synths and just about all uhes synths. Depends on what flavor of synth is needed for whatever I may be working on.

So glad for these videos, some things I didn't realize ! Vengeance preset packs are so good and provide endless inspiration, but this reminded me Vengeance's top notch sound design potential.

Yeah man the avenger presets are very professional and sound top notch. They are also interesting to study as well. I've learned a lot from just loading up a patch and dissecting the hell out of it

@@jonaudio Top notch packs for sure - worth the $. Just using one sample, ethnic flute was the name, and then playing with the sample controls, formants, oct mix, speed and formant order, entertained me for the evening. Liked your spectral tips !

Another superb tutorial. There was a moment in tip 3 where you pulled mud out of the EQ, and you could tell it was second nature to you, how you went up and then cut. Have you done any tutorials on your method for zoning in on that?

thanks!! oh yeah those nasty frequencies stick out really obvious to me. I haven't done any tutorials on that before, but that could def be an interesting topic!

@@jonaudio There are a a tonne of EQing videos, mostly rambling, and lacking the trustworthiness of tutorials like yours and Bthelick's. If you do manage an EQing fundamentals video it'd be a great resource. But you know, if that sounds less fun to you, I get it. :) Thanks again!
