I don’t have a TH-cam channel but I go to Disney all the time and I’ve been saying this for years and I totally agree with you. I would enjoy you making more videos like this because I would watch
What is amazing about this expansion idea is if/when Disney does the expansion it will not really effect operation of DCA as a whole. Some will miss Monsters Inc, but I think they will be more than happy to sacrifice it for a New Land from Disney's amazing Imagineers. And yes I support more videos like this.
I agree. Bricky’s observation and proposal is totally viable and exciting! In fact, they can even relocate Monsters’ Inc to the original parking lot near Pixar Pier.
Please make this a series of videos. These are some of the most fun because it ignites the imagination and gets me excited about the future of the theme parks.
Great video! And yes, please do more, and we'll be watching! We said "hi" to you in January at Disney Springs. We thought it was so weird that in Florida, where you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a Disney Vlogger, the only one we saw was from California :)
I don't get to go to Disneyland very often. By chance, I was there twice last year. And you say exactly what I thought both times about the Hollywood area. I was shocked at what I immediately called "wasted space!" I wondered how Disneyland let that happen, based on their need for more of our money. Your videos are fascinating for one who never thought before of the design and infrastructure of the parks. Yes, I want to see your ideas about that area, and I would definitely watch.
Please, please, please continue this series! I'm so here for this stuff! I think the exploration of what could, and possibly should, happen in these spaces is great! More, please....thank you! 🙂
Yes, PLEASE keep these kinds of “deep dives” you do so very well! They are awesome! Also - I like the recent additions of the full shots of you in front of the topic area you are covering. Great job, Bricky!
I definitely think they need to expand CA. Ive never thought its worth the same ticket price as DL, and usually get a park hopper for our CA days. Id like to see more of these videos and hopefully Disney will see them too!
I definitely love the idea of reimagining that entire area and making a new land. Possibly to expand on Pixar or Marvel or even Pandora as you mentioned. I also think that Ariel's ride should be swapped with Buzz Lightyear's ride in DL. To me, it just doesn't make sense to have Ariel in DCA. It feels out of place. I also think the trails near Grizzly River Run could be retheamed as well.
I think they should keep Hollywoodland. Get rid of Goofy’s Sky School and build a Monster’s Inc. ride there - then in Hollywoodland, build a new Great Movie Ride with all the space Monster’s and the soundstages take up - Disney owns Fox, so now they have an additional library of films to pull from without needing to license them. A huge animatronic attraction with the latest animatronics. And make the ride a little more zippy, not as slow (or have it change speeds)
I would also get rid of the redwood creek trail and put an attraction that fits the wilderness vibes because that’s a pretty big area where you can get people more excited to go to that area because that area of the park is dead mostly when grizzly river run is down in the winter and the hotel taking up that large chunk of space.
While it doesn’t match up with Avengers Campus, Pandora or something similar would be a great use of this space. I totally agree that the space is begging to be used for something else. I assume ideas have been tossed around internally what to do for many years as that corner is so lackluster compared to the rest of the park. Maybe with cancellations of Florida plans there might be a reallocation of budget investment in DCA?
Truly UNIQUE & FANTASTIC video, Mark!! Not sure any other content creators are doing this…esp. as well as you are. Personally, I think it’s fascinating & inspiring & that it points to what Disney does best…helping people dream. Well done.
Well done brickey. I agree, there's so many possibilities for all that space. Measuring the area on google earth of half the bus area and the backlot it's about 7 acres which is huge. I would love to see more videos on expansion ideas/eastern gateway etc.
I am interested to see how a land themed to LA work in like 10 miles from LA. Buena vista st is beautiful so maybe they could cash in on nostalgia of the 30s
It would be great if they went big in Hollywood studios and used the bus space too. Then just build a people mover from Toy Story parking to the esplanade. Just saying. 🤔 Freebird 😉
This video answered a question I sent your way on one of the livestreams! "If you had a magic wand to do whatever you wanted with the backlot, what would you do?" I love seeing your insight as a designer! It would be interesting to get some points of view from an engineer or architect maybe? someone who could either reaffirm your point of view or say "oh it's not possible to add a darkride here because x,y and z" Thanks for another great video, bud!
I always love these videos. You have great imagination of what could be done at the parks. I would love to see more videos like these. I would definitely watch them!
So glad to hear so many folks have the same feeling I have had about this land. Definitely the most under utilized area of both parks and probably the least enticing. No matter what theme they go for, if it’s still Hollywood Land or themed to a specific IP there is so much they can do with it to not just bring up the area but the park as a whole.
There’s a plethora of opportunities Disney could utilize in Hollywood Land, and it’s going to be interesting to see how that part of the park changes in the future. I remember when you compared the size of Avengers Campus to other lands at the resort, I’d be interested to see how the size of this space stacks up against other areas 🤔
That made me excited to see more! I have been in DCA so many times, yet this is the first time it entered my head that ALL of those buildings can go! That was very eye opening, Brickey! Well done!
I completely agree with you that despite the fact that the Hollywood Studios Backlot area is mostly wasted space right now, it also is the area of DCA with the most potential. I'm actually rather glad that they didn't put Avengers Campus there, because it leaves room for something much more exciting and ambitious. One idea that's been floated around is an entire Pandora: World of Avatar area, but I feel like it would be too difficult to fit thematically with Hollywood Boulevard and the Hyperion theater. A better idea, in my opinion, is to reskin one of the Hollywood Boulevard facades as Flynn's Arcade, and use it as the entrance for an elaborate transition where guests are digitized into the world of Tron. But it would be an entire indoor world of Tron where it is always night, with a reworked Lightcycle Run dueling coaster and the monorail zooming overhead.
I'm so torn about the Philharmagic building. It's so much potential space, but I love being able to go in for some cool down and chill time. Also... I can't unsee the mac n cheese building!
I love this series, thinking about future expansion is so interesting. I love that you don't hold back and give us visuals. Keep up the great work. You should be an Imagineer.
Love this video. Yes more park expansion speculation videos, please. I been pondering what they could do at Knotts with a parking structure consolidating the parking and using the freed up space for expansion.
When I went to DCA this year, that’s the main thing I kept marveling over… how absolutely massive Hollywood land was. Once they get that filled in with something better, DCA could be in my top 3 parks.
Yes, Please keep going! I am originally from Washington State and went to Disneyland multiple times in my childhood and even into my adulthood. With some life events I moved to Kissimmee Fl. to be closer to Disney World since California has such a high cost of living I couldn't do it on my own. But I will be going back someday to Disneyland to check it out again. Thank You so much for all the work you put into this video! I appreciate it so much!
Yes. I love construction videos and future speculation, though so many channels overhype expansions, rumors and news while you focus on more realistic plans. Love your channel! Hope to see more of these!
I absolutely enjoyed this video and gets me really excited about the future of DCA because I always thought it was lacking a bit. And yes, please do the expansion video.
Great Ideas! I thought that the Expansion was voted down by the Property owners on Habor and that is why Disney moved away from that. Is it something you think would be considered again or Disney Forward only off the West side of the park only.
@@HeyBrickey & Carrie, from what I understand Disney owns the property & is still going forward with the parking lot/drop off area & the eastern gate. The bridge/skyway will be altered so that Harbor pedestrian traffic can access the bridge & the businesses on Harbor would no lose the foot traffic to & from the park. Additionally the Security Checkpoint would remain on Disney property instead of being placed at the parking structure.
That Backlot area should have been revamped yrs ago, if not right after the park first opened in 2001. It has always looked like something out of a Six Flags park, if not a discount outlet mall in a place like Barstow. Disney has spent hundreds of millions of $ on their failed Star-Wars-themed hotel in Orlando, & just about nothing on DCA's Hollywood Backlot. An area themed to a warehouse.
Love these videos. Never really gave it much thought on how big the footprint really was. You did a great job of laying it all out. Hope Disney decides to do something there and liven up that part of the park.
Would like a deep deep dive of an expansion . With art work of what you think it would look like if the entry was across the street. Please make a people mover to take you across the street from the entrance to the gate above the street. I can see it now.
I love your ideas! I’ve always thought that this area of DCA was a “dead zone” - it doesn’t flow or keep my internet. I would love to see more videos like this - I really appreciate your insight and creativity!
Imagineering with Brickey! Love it! Another good video. DCA definitely needs some thing else. We noticed that when we were there. I think you’ve got some great ideas and yes I would definitely watch another video on the expansion.
I don’t have a TH-cam channel but I go to Disney all the time and I’ve been saying this for years and I totally agree with you. I would enjoy you making more videos like this because I would watch
I absolutely support more videos like this! I love blue sky!
What is amazing about this expansion idea is if/when Disney does the expansion it will not really effect operation of DCA as a whole. I agree. Bricky’s observation and proposal is totally viable and exciting! In fact, they can even relocate Monsters’ Inc to the original parking lot near Pixar Pier.
@@pattym4543 or heck relocate it to Tomorrowland, could fit and would bring more to that land too.
Yes! Thank you! I’ve been thinking about this waste of space for years!
Please make this a series of videos. These are some of the most fun because it ignites the imagination and gets me excited about the future of the theme parks.
Agreed.
MOAR PLEASE!
Yep, I'd love to see your Disney ideas. And yes I'll show up. Your positive attitude and creative spirit makes you channel worth watching!
Thanks Brickey. This was great. I'm here for more.
Great video! And yes, please do more, and we'll be watching!
We said "hi" to you in January at Disney Springs. We thought it was so weird that in Florida, where you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a Disney Vlogger, the only one we saw was from California :)
I must be the “odd audience” because I’d love more of this!! Thanks for another amazing video Brickey!!
Please keep making These! I love it!
They should expand the bus loop and create an immersive BUS LAND.
Would love to see more videos like this!
This was an enjoyable video Brickey!
EXPAND THE SERIES!!!! EVOLVE IT WITH YOUR IDEAS OF WHAT THE SPACE COULD BE USED FOR!!! LOVE THE VIDEOS LIKE THIS!!!
I don't get to go to Disneyland very often. By chance, I was there twice last year. And you say exactly what I thought both times about the Hollywood area. Keep em coming!
yes I would love to see more videos about this topic and more speculation on new lands etc
I am down to see more videos of possibly more land future expansion at DCA.
Love every video you do!
I definitely think they need to expand CA. Ive never thought its worth the same ticket price as DL, and usually get a park hopper for our CA days.
Id like to see more of these videos and hopefully Disney will see them too!
Yes would love to see more expansion videos! Didn’t realize big that space is! Definitely needs an update!

Expansion videos are great! There’s so much potential.
Great video! Keep the possible expansion content coming!
Give it to me! Looks like all that room would give us almost 10 acres to work with!
Would love more California Adventure videos - an e-ticket at Avenger's Campus and at least a Hollywood Land retheme would make a big difference.
I love this type of content! DCA and Disneyland has so much room for improvement and development. So much potential!!!
While it doesn’t match up with Avengers Campus, Pandora or something similar would be a great use of this space. I totally agree that the space is begging to be used for something else. Well done brickey. I agree, there's so many possibilities for all that space. Measuring the area on google earth of half the bus area and the backlot it's about 7 acres which is huge. I would love to see more videos on expansion ideas/eastern gateway etc.
Great video and ideas. These are my favorite kind of videos you create. Keep them coming!
Thanks Brickey! Had a really tough week and binge watched a bunch of your videos and also LOVED your concept art lesson. Thank you :)
Would love to see you expand the series showing the footprint
Yes, I'd like to see more expansion idea videos...
Awesome video I’d watch more of these types of videos
I am interested to see how a land themed to LA work in like 10 miles from LA. Buena vista st is beautiful so maybe they could cash in on nostalgia of the 30s
Yes more planning/design videos! Imagineer Brickey
Love this series
Avatar would be a very hard transition from the old Hollywood themed avenue leading into this area, but Zootopia would transition well.
Zootopia would be a GREAT movie to use for that space, especially since a sequel is coming out soon.
Yes! More of these videos please!
It would be great if they went big in Hollywood studios and used the bus space too. Then just build a people mover from Toy Story parking to the esplanade. Just saying. 🤔 Freebird 😉
Excellent video. Yes, please go on with more‼️ Thank you
I’ve always thought this area should be reused for a new land!
This video answered a question I sent your way on one of the livestreams! "If you had a magic wand to do whatever you wanted with the backlot, what would you do?" Love this kind of on-site arm-chair Imagineering. Keep it up Brickey!
That made me excited to see more! I have been in DCA so many times, yet this is the first time it entered my head that ALL of those buildings can go! That was very eye opening, Brickey! Well done!
BRING BACK THE MAD HATTER TEA PARTY. This space was FILLED with fun, circus acts, arcade games, great food and great drinks!!!

More expansion videos please, love your content Brickey!

Yes. I love construction videos and future speculation, though so many channels overhype expansions, rumors and news while you focus on more realistic plans. Love your channel! Hope to see more of these!

Please do more like this one thank you
More more more! Break it alll down Brickey!
More of these 😎😎😎🤓🤓🧐🧐 Love this type of video with your input.
Would they blow out the bandstand area and shops to make a new land? Like zootopia area with monorail running through?
Subscribed & binge watching. Love the content.
Please expand this series!
I’ll show up. I love these speculation videos.
Lets keep going on this series! I love the in depth takes on the possibilities.
