Lol gyeow I almost thought this was the same day we had our video call. I feel like you're always studying but I know it's gonna pay off. Can't wait to officially call you Dr Masima💃😇
Hi I have a question as a medical student of stellenbosch university what language did u learn there as a first year student. Or u just studied the modules Straight away??
Hey there🌻 as someone who's in clinical years would you recommend that one makes seperate notes when studying or generally reading off the textbooks works best? I'm currently in 4th year at Wits and I still make notes but worried it might take up time in future
Hi 💕 I think that it depends on how you study/how fast. I personally rarely used textbooks in my earlier years because we are usually given quite substantial notes/powerpoints by our university. But this year I am studying from textbooks because I do need extra knowledge that I will be tested on in OSCE’s or tests etc. So for me to prioritize time I make digital flash cards as I study through the textbook so I don’t have to read the textbook again if I want to revise.
Nondumiso Sibiya Hi 🌸 I can only speak from my experience. And I hope I answer you adequately. Medical students are based at Tygerberg Medical Campus which is not on main campus(in Stellenbosch) so my experience might be very different from others. The racism I’ve experienced can include things like patients wanting to be attended to by my white colleagues etc. Yes,some of the patients are Afrikaans speaking but for the most part we get taught in English. All my notes are in English. So yes, Stellies is definitely not perfect. There’s a lot to still be done to accommodate POC but I think in the grander scheme of things my experience hasn’t been too bad.
Thank you for running us through your day.❤️❤️❤️ Be safe as well! God bless you.
Thank you! 💕
Really interesting! Glad that you're allowed on campus as a final year, keeps the progress going towards finishing at least 💪

Hi I have a question as a medical student of stellenbosch university what language did u learn there as a first year student. Or u just studied the modules Straight away??
You study in English predominantly
Some students choose to get Afrikaans workbooks etc.

Hi Masima I just wanted to ask is it a must to be a part of leadership group at school (LRC..) to be a doctor? ☺️❤️
No it’s not necessary xx
Please do a room tour✨✨
I will try to xx
Are you allowed to wear any colour scrubs to the hospital or does it have to be the colours that they give you?
Gabby Hermawan we wear any colors we want 💕
Thanks so much😁 I really appreciate it! Great content by the way🤩👍
Thank you xx
Are there any specific apps that you use to make flash cards ?
I use Brainscape, there’s also Ankii and Quizlet! But it makes my revision so much easier and I remember key facts easily🤍
so interesting!
Leah Rebecca thank you for watching 🤍🌸
Do you(have to) buy your own scrubs?
Hi! Yes we do. But we start going to hospital in third year at Stellenbosch so you have time to build up a collection 🌸
You're so beautiful!!
Thank you so much 💕💕
hey fellow Matie🌷

One of the things I have heard about stellenbosch is the racism. Have u experienced any racism and do you have anything to say anything about this

What size are your scrubs?
I wear a small but they’re still quite big😂 if I go XS, then the pants will be too short on me
Moratwe Masima so you buy small and then tailor it?
No I haven’t had time to tailor them unfortunately but I definitely would 🙈
You should be really smart
