    The 1911 is the most successful firearms design of all time. It was the official military handgun of the United States military from 1911 to 1986. An incredible 75 years. The one great thing about these clones is that they honor the original. The original is an American classic. Anything that is a classic never goes out of style.

    I have an ATI pistol that is a copy of the original 1911 with double diamond grips and it was on sale for $299 from Palmetto State Armory a few years ago.
    My Citadel 9mm 1911 was on sale for $349 from Rural King.
    The nice thing about the 1911 was that if you ran out of ammo, it was a reliable club, then when you did get ammo later, it would still work!

  • @iaind4852

    I enjoyed your review of this pistol. I have been studying budget 1911's. Up until yesterday, I was leaning towards the ATI gi 1911 but after watching others shooting the tisas pistol and confirming its reliability. You held it up close so I could see details, good work. This is a gun that a man can upgrade to personal taste or mess it up doing so and, it's no big deal just buy another. I like the fact you don't have a fancy back drop just, a guy in his shop with a gun. It kinda reminds me of mine, it looks chaotic but, I know where everything is, don't change. I will be watching because you don't spend 10 minutes on "keeping the lights on" before getting down to business. Yeah, I'm definitely getting on of these.

    • @2aEdu
      @2aEdu  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thank you. I'm glad you liked the video. I agree with what you are saying about this pistol. Mine has run great out of the box. But I'm not afraid to shoot it, or tinker with it either. There is kind of a carefree thing with a budget pistol that makes it more fun. Yeah, I just film in my shop and hang out with you all like if I had a local buddy stop by the shop to talk guns. Some people get on me about the shop, and say they want a fancy background. But I am who I am, and if people like me great! If not.....oh well.....lol I did 2 more follow up videos on this pistol, and did shoot it in 1 of them.

    I bought one last week. Put over 100 rounds through it. Cleaned it after every 30 rounds or so to get a good break in. Clean barrels will scatter the shots but they tighten up after a mag or two. Im getting 4" groupings at 50 yards with mine. Only one malfunction that is magazine related. Will accept 8 round mags and will chamber hollow points with aftermarket 8 round mags, wont do it with the factory 7. All in all, damn good gun. Its replaced my SD40 as my EDC. Im astonished with its accuracy and range. Buy one guys, you wont regret it. Its perfect for any occasion.

    Good video. When I got out of the Army in 1972 I waited a year and then joined the National Guard in 1973 and stayed in for 10 years. The last 1911 I fired was a WWII or older one. Accuracy, near zero but when you shot it it was like singing shake, rattle and roll. The slide and barrel were shot. I am like you, I have saved but the price for an original keeps running away from my savings. I am going to wait for your review before buying this. Thanks for the heads up.👍🇺🇸🤙😃. I don’t like the Turkish government either and obama did a whole lot of damage.👍

    I've got the Colt WWI 1911 remake, and the Tisas 1911A1 sits right next to it here. That's how good the Tisas is. It's not Carbonia Blue like my Colt, but the A1's were not finished the same as the WWI Colts. I don't think there is a better A1 repro out there. The grips are the only thing, but they can be changed for under 20 clams. I did get the 9mm version, (I know, I know) simply because I'm saving my .45 stash for the long run because the 1911 is not the only gun I have that eats it, and 9mm is half the price now. You got a good gun there that will last three lifetimes.

    Just discovered your channel today. If you haven't already done so, I personally recommend the other Zig/Tisas/Regent/Zenith firearms for review. Recently I took a chance on their stainless steel PC1911 and it is a great looking gun. It shoots well out of the box and has upgraded features like ambi safeties and Novak-style sights. And a rail. Bought it new for under $500.

    Good review bro. If you ever get an original 1911A1 encourage you to shoot it often. They have earned a reputation for being fragile because of the way these guns were modified by target shooters in the 60s. In reality they are tough beyond belief, rarely jam (I can't ever remember one of mine jamming with ball ammo), work everytime. It's a shame the collectors have wrecked the opportunity for everyone to afford one.

    • @2aEdu
      @2aEdu  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Turkey firearms are solid. I Own a Canik that’s reliable and cost effective for a full size 9mm. I also already own an original 19111A1 from WWII, but seeing your video might make me revisit the SDS model at the price. My 1943 1911A1 gets shot every couple years at the family reunions. Still a very accurate weapon after all those years.

  • @brucecamparmament3728
    @brucecamparmament3728 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Thanks for the review. I have one of these as well. The biggest difference between this 1911 and a USGI issued gun is the ejection port. The ejection port on the TISAS 1911 is cut too low, unlike a USGI port. The TISAS is not as low as say a Springfield Armory 1911, but it is still lower then it should be. Oh and the TISAS is not a 70 or 80 (the 70 has a split barrel bushing and the 80 has firing pin safety), its a USGI spec which precedes the 70.

    • @2aEdu
      @2aEdu  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No prob. Thanks for the info. The lower cut ejection port is probably to help with more reliable ejection...I would assume. I didn't realize that it was different. After this video, I took it apart and figured it was a 70 series, with no firing pin block. But I see what you mean about it being a clone of USGI ( pre 70)
      I appreciate it.

      Its amazing. Solid and tight fit on everything..only thing that sucks is price for ammo vs price on a 9mm cause this thing is super fun to shoot and keep clean. I painted the half dime front post white. Only the facing where you see. But yea..cant get enough of this forged well made m11911

    • @mobius-1503
      @mobius-1503 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also. The barrel has a very wide throat to accept various kinds of loads and the ejection port is widened.

      No prob. That is awesome you will be reunited with your former service pistol model. This one is pretty much a direct USGI clone. Great review. It's kinda funny, plain jane GI style Tisas Zig 1911's have been around for years and they were regarded as junk but the reception to these parkerized versions with the historical rollmarks have been pretty positive.

    • @2aEdu
      @2aEdu  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks man. I never really was into the Tisas 1911 in the past. I just wasn't really familiar with them. This is my first one. I bought it because I wanted the historical look to go with my milsurp collection. I have now shot this one a couple times and it has been great so far. Can't speak to longevity because I do not have many rounds through it. But I'm happy because this didn't cost much more than a non firing display replica. 👍

    Glad I found this one too, I've already decided that the next semiauto pistol I get will be either a 1911 or a Beretta 92 FS. It'll probably be a 1911 just because an SDS is more affordable, but I really like everything about a 92 FS just haven't ever shot one or any 1911. I guess I should shoot them each first then decide what to buy:)

    They are all Series 70 and you missed the best part except for the price, the frame and slide are forged and the barrel is hammer forged. I have a 1911 Tanker and the barrel is ramped too and it's very, very accurate even with the A1 sights and a drop of neon orange nail polish on the front sight. I have many 1911's and bought mine just to see what all the talk was about, was I surprised. It's 2023 and my 1911 Tanker cost me $410, there isn't a better deal out there and it's as good or better than my 1980 vintage Colt Commander Series 70 in stainless steel and I'm not kidding. I have a Gold Cup, a Delta Elite and 2 custom built IDPA Stock Class 1911's and a custom 38 Super and my Tisas 911 hangs right with them. Incredible. I do CCW my Tank Commander, the extra weight doesn't bother me and double taps and follow up's are a breeze, I'd take it anywhere.

    Tisas Model 1911A1 U.S. Army.
    My review, the finish is not true Parkerizing, it is a coating. The ejection port is lower than a USGI pistol. The plastic grips aren't up to G.I standards and are cut for a ambidextrous thumb safety. There is no groove on the mainspring housing on the area above the lanyard loop. The loop is bigger than your USGI loop, so it doesn't affect anything. The magazine well has a small bevel, where G.I pistols don't. My pistol has a nice trigger pull and is very tight, like a National Match pistol. The recoil spring guide doesn't have the punch hole. I paid $395.00 and tax. The Tisas is made in Turkey by a military contractor, It comes in a cardboard box with users manual, one magazine, barrel brush and cleaning rod. It is imported by SDS Imports and has a 5 year warranty from date of purchase.

    Yeah, I'm a veteran of the Gulf war, i don't know much about small-arms. i carried the 1911 and M-9 after 1994. On rare occasion it would be the AR or a dumb 12 gauge.. I have no idea what it's called AR15,etc.. To be honest, I was on submarines 90-98. Did some serious shit, but like really, who could counter us? Not like we were ever directly shot at underwater. Anyway, I'm voluntarily self-quarantining tonight and very bored. Bottom line, my most successful competitive firearm has been a Series '70 Govt. model. I have less than a grand invested, but shoots better than 1911's three times the cost. Really minimal mods. Most of the money went into the sights and trigger. 'Nite all. Just expressing my opinion.

      @@2aEdu...more than a month later - I like mine even more than I did in the beginning of my ownership. I just can't believe what it is and how it performs. The smoothness of the radii everyplace I touch. JMB? Just another amazing design. I've never heard this before, but I the style of the pistol is a nod to the art-deco style of the time. Note the smooth transitions from the scalloping around the trigger, all the way up to the muzzle. If you hold it at arm's length, you will see three steps. Beautiful.

Myself I want them all . I. Would love to have a Cold Python. Also Smith &Wesson would be a bad mistake to overlook . plenty of fine S&W revolvers that would be awesome to have as a first to anyone looking to get started with. Try a model 17, or 617 . both are 22lr. The 17 is blue and 617 is stainless. I own both examples and they are both a dream to shoot & hold . anyways good luck and happy hunting.

    Well, I just looked up what I was thinking about and it turns out it was made by a far better established company than I remembered, specifically the oldest in America - Springfield Armory. The high capacity version has a 13-round magazine capacity, not 14, and given that it has things like titanium parts, it may not be quite as much of a replica as I thought, not to mention that it seems to have A1 features rather than those of the original 1911. Apparently you can still find them for around $400 new.
