Cannot believe you have been working on one of those Chinese carbs. I have one on a whacker plate that keeps leaking. Cleaned the seat and it would work for a day and leak again. It is those little float valves, the stick from deposits from the petrol. Not leaking at the moment but I a sure that will be short lived. I will give your grinding paste and buds trick a go next time.
The engine runs, nice job reining in that balky carby. It seems to be running too fast. Adjust the governor linkage until you can get either the engine closer to spec or set it so it’s outputting 50Hz. Then check your voltage output. Not clear if your machine is running an AVR, where the voltage can be adjusted, or some other technique. You should also stress test it to see how well it meets the spec.
Hi Mick So the fuel was leaking from the bowl?? That's a schoolboy error if his not checking things like that? Just wondering why would people empty out of petrol and then leave the bowl loose? I understand the fuel goes off etc so need to get the fuel out of the tank and the carb for winter but I haven't heard of loosening the bowl

Great fix Mick. Was surprised to hear how fast it was running. It should run at about 51.5 hertz no load (~3100 rpm). It sounded more like 70 hertz!

Good repair Mick, to bad it's not a Honda. But if it works it works.
Blue Hylomar semi hardening sealant everywhere! It's good stuff as its fuel resistant but there's no need for thar much.

What do I google for your carb clean tray Mikos
I will find out a link
@ thank you mate!
And no. :( when attaching the bowl use a screw driver drive such that one can feel the oring compress.
Now you are being daft bro. Oxides not ethanol. Ream it.
