great vid, I have same mower. throttle cable is an assembly and obsolete, that's why seperate throttle body, I found replacement carb with all gaskets, fuel lines, inline filter for just over a tenner on Amazon! fitted it and machine ran A1! Sold mowers all my working life and agree, pound for pound, nothing better than the side pto Harrier 48 for up to 1/4 acre! 😊
Great video Mick !! A refresher on a carb clean and a bit about the mechanical issues especially the choke mechanism,,,,, those are the things that will frustrate you after cleaning the carb and it still doesn't run quite right. Thanks Mick
Ever have any problems with the primer bulb model not priming properly after a carb cleanup, even when the gasket has been replaced still the same, great work as always mick 👍
Great Video.. I have the Hayter model before this one ( I think)and it just keeps going, though it has electric start but just use manual start. Will give it a service though, which is way over due and follow your video.. Thankyou.
Thank you. Got a Hayter 58 recently for €50 that wouldn't start. Got it started twice with fuel in the spark plug hole but wouldn't start normally. Cleaned carb twice but didn't run anything through the jet hole. Will look closer at the choke and let you know how I get on. Runs well when running, bit smokey on startup but that's B&G for you
@@themowermanthere was water in there alright. Need to have a poke around again. I don't think the choke is fully clicking over as you've shown in the video. I clicked it further manually when reassembling but thought I was pushing it too far. But you've explained it well here. Have a 46 so I'm not new to working on them, just tying together all the concepts of what does what and you've covered it extremely well here. The 46 has been bullet proof. I do run a bit of 2 stroke oil in it as well, should help with longevity, albeit with the plug coking up over time
Good video. So strange i literally just got one of these off a scrap guy i know. Managed to get it going. Runs mint just needs a bit of tlc and possibly a deck paint 👍🙂
Excellent video Mick, top stuff and very informative… just out of interest love the orange tray you’ve got there, any link to where I can get one please! Thanks
