Do you wonder if the change in lure changed the fishing.. or the shoal simply moved into your swim? This is often a question I ask myself as we as Anglers usually default to our change in tactic as being the cause of a change however fish move and we often fail to consider they just may have moved in. I have seen this in clear water and had it been coloured I would have assumed it was something I did differently and was wrong.
That's a good question mate, never really thought about that. I do often question it myself also as sometimes I'd put on a different presentation or colour and it might seem as if the change made a difference but in all reality the fish moved in, only problem is you never really know unless you're boat fishing and have livescope or sonar on board but it's definitely an interesting thought 👍
Had 3 hrs on the Shroppie this afternoon. 1rod standard jig (,lmab Kofi roach and black then a 3cm curly tail, unknown make, other rod dropshot LMAB filet, small. Not a touch. Though the canal was really coloured by the sandstone after the snow and rain and shitload of crap and sanitary towels on the surface.. Nice to be out for awhile though.
To me Dan you always seem to risk things pushing the boundaries of fish care so I would like to point a few things out which I would have done in that fishing situation to make it fairer on the fish ...firstly i would have used a thin wire trace knowing that pike where on the prowl rather than a 0.3 fluro hook link and secondly maybe either use a small keep net to retain that amount of perch or maybe a second landing net rather than just wanting to rack up the numbers of fish you catch just to get views .....none of the other you tubers i watch return fish like you do tbh almost just throw them in Especially after the last video you did after getting bitten of time after time by pike and so many people complained yet you didn't respond just ignored it basically you really push it Dan you are supposed to be setting an example especially to beginners Shame on you i think
Personally I always use a thin wire trace with even the smallest of lures. That’s since getting bitten off by an 8lb pike (I subsequently caught and weighed the same fish 3 times in 2 months) whilst using a 50mm creature. Not happened since 👍
Is this way of handling fish is what LMAB stands for ? If you wanted to show something you could have brought a decent net and showed it what you wanted to show in a different way. I liked your videos very much but this one is going too far for me. With 55k viewers ... I hope they don't copycat you !!!
I agree with you wholeheartedly fish care comes 1st and foremost videos like this not only give anglers a bad name but is also fuel for the fire for the anti anglers to complain is not a fish mongers and is certainly not the image that should be portrayed on the Internet
Give the guy a beak giys it must be hard having to put out videos once or twice a week especially at this time of the year. He's trying his best give the guy a break. I'm sure we could all do better regarding fish care, life is a learning process none of us are perfect and all that bollo× lol

Perch sometimes don't make sense. Caught all my biggest fish on the tiniest lures (less than 2") in the height of summer.
Do you jig it on the bottom ?
Im new to perch fishing any ideas which size jig i should use for 4cm/7cm lures
Size 2 jighead and probably 3 and 5 gram for the weight
