    Wonderful explanation, and very helpful! Dr. Pugh I’m struggling with determining how much protein is adequate for me while doing a ketogenic diet. I would like to avoid any issues with going too low protein, but also issues with too high interfering with entering into ketosis. I am a 5’4” 135lb woman but I would like to drop about 15lbs. Any advice is much appreciated.

    Sara this is amazing, thank you so much for all your work. I'm currently living out in Phuket in Thailand I'm testing out some of Jack's ideas for a nasty psoriasis condition and I have to tell you the sunlight is healing everything! I feel incredible. You read my mind as I was thinking of making an explainer video of his Vermont 2017 video as I think that’s his best one. I’d play 5 min then unpack it for people as it’s pretty much all in that video and it’s also very good for those who “don’t get it” and would really benefit from Jacks work. He has no patience now with those who are 25yrs behind. I could also do it for the very deep podcast he did with me as I think that’s harder by far than the Huberman interview

    Dry fasting will deplete deuterium water in the body. Of course the quality of the food and water matters when you start refeeding. Have you looked in to that?

    • @Thebusysuperhuman
      @Thebusysuperhuman  13 วันที่ผ่านมา +6

      Yes I’ve tried it and it can - just most people as in my clients won’t do it and it’s not good for low leptin or if you are prone to UTIs and it’s not addressing other health hazards like artifical light and bad circadian rhythm as you deplete Deuteurium the most during sleep.

    • @olgakuchukov6981
      @olgakuchukov6981 13 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      I dry fast regularly and absolutely LOVE IT. So much better than water fasting. Of course, yet another fab benefit is deuterium depletion which makes all the sense since no exogenous water is coming in. No wonder I feel so amazing. 😃
      I follow QB practices, eat carnivore. I have been oxalate dumping for over a year and I find dry fasting is the only thing that has been helping, even though there is no low-ox intake to stanch the detox. In my case, it has been a year of diarrhea and dry fasting has been the only thing “drying” that up. Im on the other side of that detox. UTI’s are often a result of oxalate dumping.

      I don’t worry about deuterium that much. I think it was Sara who said previously that provided enough saturated fats, the mitochondria will create their own deuterium depleted water and leave the deuterium out for connective tissues. Have definitely tried dry fasting before. Now I supplement it with butter or sometimes exogenous ketones.
      The only thing I feel missing is sodium. I start craving sodium or anything salted.

    • @olgakuchukov6981
      @olgakuchukov6981 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@alanbeirut3702 when do you crave salt?
      I eat a high fat carnivore diet with plenty of salt. I am in ketosis most of the time, I would wager, though not always. I do not measure ketones nor take exogenous ketones. Though I can smell ketones exiting through my urine often, but not always and especially not when I include a fair amount of dairy (cheese, ferments) in my diet - I suspect the lactose carbs kick me out of ketosis, which is fine. I have steady high energy and can fast easily with steady and high energy levels continuing through the fast. Re-feeding is gentle and slow and not a problem. I did train for all of this the last year, taking it slow, etc. I make sure I am highly hydrated and mineraled-up before starting fasting and I break the fast with warm mountain spring water (i get myself from local mountain) and trace minerals. I suspect the high fat content makes it easy for me to fast. In the past, when I ate (too many) carbs, fasting was much harder. I don’t worry about deuterium for myself, either. I do worry about it for everyone else I see slurping coconut water all year. 🤓😂

    “The piezo-electricity of collagen, this is the way we make electrons.” Incorrect. It must be “making FREE electrons.” There is no making electrons in piezo-electricity or otherwise, there is only electric fields and electron work functions and giving electrons enough extra energy to move electrons from the valence band to the conduction band to become available to move short distances as a net electric current.
