I love Tatiana's cleans. I love the compositional chops on display thru this song. All 4 of them are excellent at what they do. Formulaic does indeed imply predictability. I think "intricate" is the term you were searching for - & intricate is definitely one of the words I use to describe Jinjer's compositions.... so much brain-tickling intricacy!! :)
The “Superfecta” of Progressive Hard Rock, Hard Rock Trio, Progressive Groove Metal, and Power Metal: Band-Maid, The Warning, Jinjer, and Lovebites -- all pushing their core genres into the next realm! 🤘 🤘 🤘🤘Thx, Chris & Sam!
Cleopatra, Marie Curie, Joan of Arc, Frida Kahlo Jinjer - Audiotree From Nothing (Live Performance) Jinjer - Call Me A Symbol (Official Live in LA) Jinjer - On The Top (Bloodstock 2022)
If you want to learn a little more about the band and do a good reaction you should do the “Audiotree Jinjer From Nothing” video. Three songs in a studio setting with the band interviewed in between the songs. It’s really good.
Love this masterpiece, great reaction, thank you! I just did a play through of each of Offset Era's EPs ... I am digging your sound. You can definitely hear the progression from the first EP to the latest - becoming much more polished. I added a bunch to my playlist. Rock on!
When painting Tati is portraying Frida Kahlo. The Mexican painter with the unibrow. She's playing all women that were strong and doing things that women weren't supposed to be doing at the time of their lives according to society. They all had to be prepared to fight when all they really wanted was to be regular, feminine women. Just like Tati screaming in a metal band.
Thanks Chris and Sam. You got Marie Curie and Cleopatra. Also Joan of Arc. And the painter there is some debate, could be 1 of 2 women, either Frida Kahlo (Tati is a fan of hers) or Georgia O'Keeffe. Maybe even a combination of the 2, we'll just have to wait until someone asks her in an interview to be sure. The amount of cleans to start, before getting to the harsh is reminding me of "Vortex" and "Wallflower" from the last album. Loving this song, says in the description that this is just a tease of what’s to come very soon. Heard the new album is done recording, no clue when we may see it released. They have been plying another new song, called "Fast Draw", but nothing released so far, only fan cams. It is all harsh vocals.
One of Tatiana's unsung talents is taking what the guys do musically (which is done first to completion) and laying vocals over it. Even with all the changes. Now as long as they have been together that doesn't mean the rest of the band doesn't hear Tatiana in their head when they are composing and sort of know what she might do with something but for the most part Tatiana has to take the music and turn it into a story. Theoretically no song writing method is bullet proof and so there may be some people out there who listen to a given song of theirs done that way and see the method exposed as not working as well. but I've only heard maybe one or two of their songs like that and frankly even then it's a matter of opinion as to whether it didn't work well or not.
So good! The other two are Joan of Arc and Georgia O’Keefe (although some say Frida Kahlo also for Tati’s known love for her). What I really appreciate about when the growls come in is how poignant they are when reading the lyrics and the progression of the story. Incredible 🤘🏻
Tatiana has a tattoo of Frida Kahlo on her forearm so I tend to believe that is the artist in the video. Like you said it's Cleopatra and Marie Curie. The last is Joan of Arc.
No disrespect to Eugene, but need to listen to beyond creation with their song earthborn evolution, never heard bass like beyond creation. They have bass solos like guitar solos

Another through composition, no chorus but a bunch of hooks.

In case you haven't heard of them, Ne obliviscaris does this as well. Maybe you'll like them too.
