You are simply the best PLS & Technical land survey human I have seen on the web. I have been looking for a viDoc type device for my Wingtra Gen 2. We have a full blown Leica and we do NOT need that. Thank you from me @ K&W

As always, awesome work engineer Rami.
I would really like to see a comparison against the Leica or the Trimble terrestrial Lidar scanners.

Found your videos yesterday when I was searching for Emlid reviews. Extremely well-done and thorough content. Kudos to you!

Awesome video. You should do one comparing accuracy of a Leica scanner to the iphone.

I really appreciate your content and these equipment comparisons are very important to learn. Is it possible to incorporate a gimbal with the viDoc? If so, would the accuracy be further increased?

I love your videos, dude. Thank you so much. What would you recommend for doing indoor scans that has more range than the iPhone

    Great video.
It would be great to have a forest video to get structural measurements in that environment.

Thank you Rami for this educational video. Q for you. Can I use the DJI-DRTK2 as a base station instead of the NTRIP?

hello from Russia. for the purposes of photogrammetry, continuous video recording is carried out with coordination using the RTK module of the camera movement trajectory. question: after the program has converted the video sequence into separate photos, how are the coordinates and height of each individual photo assigned? by exact interpolation?

Is a broadband/phone connection required in order to use the Lidar and ViDoc functionality? Also, what size memory on the iPhone would you recommend?

Would there be any benefit to add a gimbal to this setup for the purpose of the exercise?

With a more stabilized handle on the iPhone, the sensors don’t need to compensate for as much movement, which I believe will provide more accurate movements. But does this mean it’ll create more accurate data sets, I’ll have to find a gimbal that can handle both the iPhone with the viDocRTK on it.

Can this data be combines with the data from a Phantom 4 RTK or alike? if yes, how?

  • @johncavin

Cool, but the device is $6,000 US and software can run $8,000 per year. I am looking for a cheap method for DIY topography mapping. This is not that...

Rami, dont bother with Pix4D. Its garbage. All you need is CloudCompare and Recon3D app (or any app based on Everypoint) to enjoy accurate 3D photogrammetry reconstructions.
