@@AdviseMyStyleI’m 41, and have hooded eyes, this tutorial is totally incorrect. You should have cut her a crease above the hood just where the brow bone is. And that’s just for starters. You little girls have to stop living in an imaginary faryland! When an eye is that hooded, this is one of the best options you have and it actually looks really good in real life.
@@AdviseMyStyle Seems like only you didn't figure out that your color goes over the hood and not instead and below pulling the lid down. With that attitude... no wonder
You need to have the right brush that can hit both the upper fold and the crease while moving it softly across the fold to create a new ‘crease’ to put it like that. at the same time you don’t want to ignore your normal crease or it will look weird when you close your eyes. The brush should be a bit thick, being small at the point and denser at the middle. Just pat the shadow on to 2 sides of the brush (not all around it) and place it strategically. Personally I just look at my eye when they are open and look at where I need to place the shadow. In the middle part above the eye, i go very close towards the brow, because that is the part that will show. On the outer side of the eye (the skin flap) there is more leeway, but make sure to blend well ON the skin flap. But yeah the right brush is more important with hooded eyes.

@@AdviseMyStyleI don't think you understand how to do makeup OR take a hint. The majority of these comments are telling you you're wrong because most of us can do better than this.
People in the comments are being so negative about this, but it is really about using what’s available to create a flattering look. He brought the “wing” type shading closer into the corner of the eye as a smoked effect, so that the depth of the wing didn’t need to be on the outside where there was no space for it to show without looking weird, because her hood fully covers her eyelids. Basically he created the look without having the space for it- so while people are saying that technique makes eyelids look smaller, this woman’s eyelids almost CAN’T look any smaller than they are, but DEPTH can be emphasized, which is what he’s doing. Interesting technique, and I think the makeup overall looks good on her, and would be great for an event requiring an elegant makeup look, for someone with no space for a smokey winged look on their upper eyelid. More makeup on her eyelid or beyond the corner of her eye would not be flattering, and would just look messy. I would go with maybe a little more highlighter at the outer corner of her eye, but otherwise there simply isn’t much more you can do in this case.
Thank you! 🙌 I think people don’t understand how morphology of the face affects the final result, because they are blinded with unrealistic transformations. 🤔
