- 14” blade, 20.5” OAL. 4 bar twist Damascus blade with Damascus fittings, elk antler handle, 18k gold ornamentation. Inspired by the icon of “The True Vine.” A like and follow would be greatly appreciated if you enjoyed this content. Glory to You our God, glory to You!
I guess you know by now how much I like your work. This piece is truly stunning. If I just may, I just wish you dwelled more time explaining the amazing design and the references. Even because Ampelos was a beautiful Greek myth. I wish one day I might get one of your work for the Sharp Art exhibition. Thank you so much for sharing the process
@@IsitAKnife I appreciate the feedback, I’ll keep that in mind for future videos! Hopefully I can get one to you one day between orders 😁
So incredible. Absolutely stunning. Magnificent. Breathtaking.
That build is INSANE. Amazing craftsmanship. Thanks for share.
I am sorry you only have 1.3K subscribers... You do freaking outstanding work man! Excellent VID!!!! Breathtakingly Awesome!
Late to the program but that's a beautiful piece! Fantastic artistry!
that is THE single most gorgeous dagger i have EVER seen. the pattern, the handle, the pommel, the engravings and the materials are all top notch. and i am not even gonna talk about the video itself, that is greatly made.
@@4elements279 thank you very much!
Not gonna lie, this is the kind of dagger I'd picture a master smith submitting to a blade tournament _and winning_
Everything from the damascus, the handle, guard and pommel, to the gold engravings and even the profile of the blade. All not only excellently made, but also masterfully designed
This belongs in a display case atop a marble pedestal
And the fact that it holds up to genuine use? It is masterpiece not only in design but also in quality
@@sorayaya3080 thank you very much!
Really at a loss for words because the usual superlatives that you see in blade smithing just won't work here. I wish to echo the other comments by saying, this is the most beautiful knife I have ever seen. You have a new subscriber. Look forward to seeing what else you can do. Thanks for sharing.
@@floundergearjam thank you very much!
awesome work!
as a chemist it's cool to see potassium permangenate being used. We use it quite often but I've never seen it outside a lab
I am less than 2 minutes into your video, and I can already tell I am going to subscribe to you. I love how in depth you are already are with the voice-over at 1:13 mark. You have a EASILY got a sub from me!
I am a plumber and a pipefitter, and I have always loved working with metal. Metallurgy has been super interesting to me for some years now, and I have been eating up a lot of black/bladesmithing for a few weeks now. I have been looking for more bladesmiths that go in depth in their videos, here on TH-cam. I am hoping to purchase a forge and some steel stock so I can start teaching myself how to make high quality knives. I am very grateful for channels like yours, that go into detail and walk you through their process step by step!
I can't wait to see the finished product at the end of your video! Cheers!
You should check out Kyle royer. Very intricate designs coupled with builds that rival anything I've seen ANYWHERE, not just YT.
@@TheSeth14 been watching him for a couple of years now. He's one of my favorites!
looks amazing great work edit commentary and more ... much love
I thoroughly enjoyed watching your build of this dagger this Saturday morning. I had it saved for a few days and was excited for this morning to come. I followed the build on IG and had the honor of meeting you and seeing it at the Solvang show. I probably just forgot about it, but I really appreciate the elements of your faith in Our Lord that you incorporated into this piece that you highlight at the end of this video. I’m blown away by this piece.
@@Robpearceknives thanks Rob I really appreciate that! It was a pleasure to meet you as well. Thanks for following along!
Beautiful work my friend.
This is amazing work, the only thing I personally would have done different is use a better handle material, like india sambar stag, the enamel on India stag is the finest of any stag antler and takes a mirror polish, and over time starts to yellow gracefully over time and almost takes on an ivory kind of look, (unless you dye it of course). The other parts of the knife are so well done that it deserves an upgrade in stag. Also, it's an interesting choice to leave the solder on the finished piece like that. I wasn't sure if I liked it at first, but it's kind of cool, and it goes well with what the knife represents. Cheers, have a nice day!
Work of art. Symmetry at it's best.
supremely underrated
That was a beautiful work, I really enjoyed it, my compliments to you .
That's excellent work sir. Well done.
Damascus metal is beautiful
Wow.....I just finished the video, and I don't know what to say other than, THIS BLADE IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The attention to detail is top notch, and I would rate this one up there with the last dagger that Kyle Royer uploaded to his channel. The $24k dagger that took him 3 months to make! Truly an amazing work of art. And seeing you butcher that 2"x4" with this beauty closer to the middle of the video, that is just a testament to not only your knowledge of how to properly heat treating a blade, but how to make a beautiful work of art that is also VERY capable of going to war!
You deserve for the whole world to know who you are, my friend!
Great work, and I am definitely looking forward to your next build video!
@@xxitz_pr0gxx631 thank you for your kind words
Beautiful knife my guy . 😊
Incredible work! Thank you for taking the time to share your process with us 😊
OMGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!! That hammer is a thing of fvcking BEAUTY!!!!!!!
That is awesome, I love it. I am slowly getting all the tools to make knives myself. I have already made a few and every knife I make I buy a new tool to make things easier.
@@kennethgrossman289 sweet! Keep going 👊🏻👊🏻
Truly beautiful work, every aspect came out incredibly on it's own while also working harmoniously with the overall look. I wanted to thank you for all the detail you went into on the process, beside being entertaining I learned new things. :) Spring tempering the upper portion of the tang makes perfect sense, but it's not something I've ever seen in another video or read in a book. I also had no idea that profile taper was as important as distal taper on the tang. Thanks for sharing.
Just started watching your videos, and this has been my favorite forge so far.
Ok knowint that the five gold balls are the five wounds of Christ makes the "bleed" of the gold onto the steel feel like a feature, not a bug. Great work!

Those golden ratio calipers are awesome! I’m gonna have to get me some of them. Also, this is one of the most beautiful daggers I have seen.
@@gameface8080 thank you very much! They’re a pretty sweet tool 😁
As a jeweller, the solder excess in the final hurts my soul, but otherwise, what a wonderful piece
Amen, and hallelujah! Beautiful work, Pearce, absolutely stunning! 🔥 ⚒ 🙏

Dedication. This is at least a 4-figure knife. 👍
This is an amazing piece! You definitely got yourself a new subscriber and thanks to the TH-cam algorithm for showing me this
I saw the small caliper and subscribed.
I really enjoyed watching this. I believe I'mana have to subscribe. Really well-done and well-explained. As far as the brightness on your Damascus, try going over it with sunshine cloth. I got this idea from Kyle Royer, and it makes a big difference.

Tem valor uma peça dessa???
Wow, this is an insanely beautiful dagger, and it's great to have the full built shown in detailed steps !
Even your Hammers are beautiful ! Are they Japanese blacksmith hammers ?
@@Tomcat_Centauri thank you! My main hammer is a 3.5lb dog head (Japanese) style with a cross peen, I had it custom made and as far as I know it’s the only one like it. The other one that I think is in the video is a rounding hammer.

You have a forge in a domestic garage? That must be difficult with the neighbours!
@@amcconnell6730 actually we have great relationships with our neighbors, they come hang out in the shop all the time

How do I buy this? I need this 😅
At that size and length I would call that a dirk, not a dagger.
@@bobechs7905 a dirk is a Scottish dagger that has a very specific design. This isn’t that, this design was inspired by a late medieval/early renaissance parrying dagger
Must be fun living beside someone that is banging steel on daily lol. I'm already going crazy when my neighbor does work rebuilding his garage
@@vladimirczajkowski1091 maybe it’s time to consider why people being productive is annoying to you 🤷🏼♂️
@@icarusforge So you are telling me it's fine when you come home from a 6day work week tired trying to take a rest on your day off and your neighbor is banging on metal. Everybody needs to make a living but people need to more considerate with others.
@@vladimirczajkowski1091 if it’s really that big of a deal for you then perhaps you should talk to your neighbor about it instead of making passive aggressive comments to random strangers on TH-cam

More visually appealing and better than Kyle Royer, who also sell extremely expensive pieces. His work worth it or overrated? Name the dagger " Conquista El Mundo". Beautiful and lavish art of work...and surely practical!
@@baneman7783 I appreciate it but I wouldn’t say it’s better than his work lol. He is both a friend and teacher of mine, his work is incredibly good, he’s legitimately one of the best in the world. But thank you for your kind words!
