  • Yes, you read that right: how to wear ANYTHING as a man is by polar plunging...or at least that's the principle, but what do I mean? In this video, I'll explain what I mean by that and why we have to earn the clothes that we wear as a man.

    I 100% agree. I liked wearing suits and overcoats, but it was way overdressed compared to all my friends and almost everyone in my home town. To get away with it I trained in martial arts and lived my life with zeal. I was a young highschool dropout so I was working at Papa John's pizza answering phones and tossing dough but I saved up and moved to the city where I took sales jobs befitting of the suit and now I work a cushy remote corporate job were I do virtual meetings. I'm the only one that always has the camera on and I wear a different tie everyday.

      Thank you so much, bro! I honestly want to get back to cranking out videos at this speed. It wasn't difficult at all, so we'll see if I can keep this up without compromising too much.
      Also on a side note, I know you live in a warm climate, and I suggested a linen or cotton loose woven Aran sweater might work for where you live. Well, I found that they _do_ make summer sweaters for hot climates by Connection Knitwear based in Milan, Italy. I just bought a shirt from them and the quality and craftsmanship is unbelievable. So, that may be something to consider! I'll talk about it more in an upcoming video, but just a heads up either way.

    Thought this for ages, great video.
    I also think that it's not necessarily about masculinity either, I think that it's a lot to do with showing yourself to be a well balanced person and then people will respect your style. I'm a near constant suit wearer and have been for years, I've been getting increasingly confident and sociable since I was about 13 and as a result a lot of people know me and get on with me without making an issue of my style when if you watched Pop-culture you'd expect a lot more ostracisation.
    Then again, I certainly think that there is a line, like I wouldn't say it balances well enough that I'd be willing to wear hats and bowties, not really my thing anyway though.
    Hopefully by Summer 2023 I'll be the right level of masculine to wear a crop top and short shorts at some point.

    • @DemetriosLevi
      @DemetriosLevi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Another excellent video Demetrios! One thing I personally found interesting after moving the States was how... rigid everything seemed to be compared to what I've been seeing on media. When my wife and I are buying clothes for my son, it's all wilderness, cars, dinosaurs, etc. your typical "masculine" things in drab olive or brown. The number of people complimenting us for a beautiful daughter is almost at a hilarious level. And we're in NY!
    Also make no mistake, there are many people in Korea who complain about how feminine the K-pop guys dress. But there was also a point in time around 10 years ago you were hard pressed to find guys not wearing skinny tight neon bright coloured jeans in Seoul.
    In any case, I think this dichotomy of masculinity I was presented with whilst growing up and becoming my own was something I never truly was able to balance until rather recently. I guess I thought I didn't care about others' opinions but secretely did? - Han

    • @DemetriosLevi
      @DemetriosLevi  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I always love reading your comments, Han! Thank you! I can attest to the same thing here in Michigan as your NY experience...
      The dichotomy of masculinity that a lot of us grew up with really does make things confusing. I'm with you on only very recently finding that balance. But the fact that you can contemplate on it yourself and are striving to be the best version yourself and finding that balance sets you so far above, my friend!
