Thank you for this thorough review!
Thank you!
Thanks for the review, especially for the low-amp part. This is most important for me because I mainly measure leakage current.
I have a Voltcraft 330, which is a rebranded UT210e. I'll consider buying an Owon CM2100B but I've read that it has quite a few issues with Bluetooth.
Thanks! Myself i am not so sure about the Extra of BT, maybe for logging, but for normal use the display itself is good enough.
A most impressive Bluetooth multimeter. 🥳 Amazon $50 OWON CM2100B Clamp Meter 😎 Thank you Tony.
Thank you!
Great to hear Owon helped you out with your broken meter, even though you bought it from AliExpress .. good service, thank you for sharing that.
@@TonyAlbus si, no tenía muchas esperanzas que reconocieran la garantía, pero me asombro lo correcto que es OWON. eso te da confianza con la marca 👏👍💰💵🇻🇪🇨🇱
@@miguelc_seeker Yes it does, Great.!
This looks and works very similar to my UT-210E, but with more counts and BT. I see "basically" the same performance from my UT-210E. Which is great for the price! Thanks for the video 👍
Thanks, yes your are correct, looks a lot like the uni-t with those differences.. funny
Owon is awesome I love their meters I got a bench top and a hand held
Thanks! yes a nice little meter.
Good review, quite a decent clamp meter from Owon. A year ago I bought the EEVblog BM036 meter which was nearly £100 and it's specs are very disappointing, e.g. fixed voltage range of 600V with 0.1V resolution, 6000 count. I will probably sell it.
Thank you.. this one or have a look at UT-210E .. i see in the comments
Tony Montana of MOSFET trany
LOL, thanks!
Good to know... Thank you Tony for the beautiful video...
By the way... You really have a beautiful laboratory... 👍
Thank you so much Grer!
I liked your low amp test. Having a reading at 10ma is quite good. I have not seen this test done on the uni-t yet.
Yes very sensitive, very nice.
Благодарю за квалифицированный обзор. Только я не понял, был ли короткий звуковой "beep" при проверке диода?
Hi, in continues mode it does, i dont remember if it also does in Diode
Bought one, it works well. Thanks.
Thank you for user feedback!
great video Thank you!!
I have a question I am looking for a current sensor which records the values and can transmit them to the computer. I saw that the clamp has a recording mode (without bluetooth connections) is there a limited number of measurements recorded? For example, I can place the clamp and let it take current measurements for 8 hours and at the end connect the phone via Bluetooth to extract the measurements?
Thank you. Good question, i really did not test any offline logging, i did not expect it to be able to. Maybe you can find it on the Owon website? i would be surpriced it can, usualy only higer level multimeter would be able to do that.
@@TonyAlbusthanks you! ☺️
I purchased this clamp meter and used it for a week and found it very accurate and compact. You did not test the frequency mode. It will measure 20 MHz with a signal greater than 8 Vpp from a signal generator. I used 10Vpp sine wave without issue over the full range.
Thank you for this extra information!
I didn't watch it all but couldn't see him testing NCV. I saw another review alongside the UT 210E and the NCV was nowhere near as good so I bought my 4th UT210E instead as NCV is probably my most used feature.
Input protection also looked not as good.
i didn't real your whole text, but i think i did not test NCV, but i don't remember, it is not the most interesting function in my opinion, i was mor einterested in the 20.000 counts.
@@TonyAlbus thanks for the reply. NCV is very much underated in many reviews as they are usually done by people at a bench who would not have much use for it, whereas NCV is probably my most used function.
I work on commercial/industrial HVAC equipment where testing for dead is very important. Panels can have two supplies. Lights controls and monitors often are isolated elsewhere.
I find NCV is a quick and effective double check.
NCV is also great for quickly checking for power, for example to a faulty solenoid coil without having to remove the connector and probe it. It's good at finding breaks in cables. Even checking the fuse in a plug (UK type) can be done without removing the plug.
Probes often give a false no voltage display if touched on corroded or coated areas.
20.000 counts, but not when measuring current?
Or am I wrong?
means 0- 19999 = 20.000
min 10:42 0.032 A --> only 2.000 Counts,
min 5:34 100.07 Ohm --> 20.000 Counts
Yes that is exacly what the video is for.
It's 2000 counts because the resolution is 1mA according to the datasheet. So it would make no sense to display fractions of 1 mA.
Quick question I'm new to this stuff can that be attached to oscilloscope
As far as i know, it works all by its own. and can unmodified not be used as a probe only for a scope.
nice video... ps i want you're Marconi !!!
Thanks!
👍. Kiedy nowe odcinki FF?
Thank you for asking! .. i will start the Fluke Friday again soon.
Does the ammeter default to ac or dc?
Hi, John, the Amp setting default to AC... The Volt setting defaults to DC
@@TonyAlbus Thanks, why do they do this for hobbyist grade products...P.I.A, every time you have to press a button, the D.C button on my uni-t210e is knackered because of this idiocy.
@@johnshaw359 would be better to remember the last setting per mode .. i agree
😘
thank you!
👍
Thank you!
2 things I noticed:
1. in amp mode (the most important mode for this meter), it's not 20.000 count, but only 2000 count! So the same as competitors like the Uni-T UT210E (which even can be hacked to 9999 counts). That's a bit disappointing.
2. the logging is not consistent. In the data stream you can see that it sometimes log's a value 2 times per second and sometimes even 5 times per second. Because I don't see a decimal on the seconds value, a dataset like this (in a csv file for example) can't really be processed for example to calculate derivative values of this log (for instance if you want to calculate milliamps-hour). This is something that has to be improved imho to actually be useful in a more advanced application.
So I have a bit of mixed feelings about this meter. If I look at both manuals, the Uni-T UT210E also has more accurate specs in the 2A DC mode (2%+3dig instead of 2%+8dig for the Owon meter), and the UT-210E has exactly the same price as the OWON CM2100 (without bluetooth) (at eleshop at least).
Can you check that if you log on the fastest setting (
Hi Guido,
Well spotted! about the logging to file, that was my mistake, the manual clearly says: set interval between 1 to 40 sec. i left it at
