    Unbelievably beautiful image quality from the BMPCC4K and the Sirui 35mm combo. I've been researching new cameras for months and looking now at this footage I am really impressed. As content creators everybody has a different eye and perspective of what is most visually pleasing in a finished production. To me this checks all the boxes. Cheers!

    I have always appreciated your work and your videos, Tom. As someone who owns the MFT version of the 35mm you do it proud! Your footage is very natural looking and captures/exemplifies the nature of a lens that I consider: "what if a Sigma 18-35mm and a SLR Magic Anamorphot 40 had a baby who didn't inherit the '18-' zoom' part? Since I have both I can attest that the complaints of the Sigma being "too clinically sharp" are muted by an adapter that by nature softens the image. "Congratulations Mrs. Jones, you have a new bouncing baby Surui 35mm!"

    If you filmed on the P4k and the Sony. On the Sony will it do full frame or crop only? I have the MFT version and feel like I am missing out on more field of view than the E mount might have. I am getting an E mount converter on my Z Cam F6 when they are released so I'm trying to figure out if I should get the MFT or E mount version. If there is no benefit to getting one over the other then I would probably stick with the MFT mount just so my 50 will have a mate.

    Tom I'm curious about something other than the anamorphic lens although this video is beautiful. I use my GH4 mostly for vlogging and I want the effect you have while you're explaining with the little lights on your couch that look faded out while you are in the foreground. I have a 14-44mm lens for my GH4 but I was looking at what lens I should get next to maybe help me get that effect. Maybe I am wasting money getting the sirui 35mm if im mostly shooting indoors.

    1.5x or 2x anamorphic would be nice in future.
    Im only guessing that next year 2021 it will be 12mm or 16mm. I wish.
    But definitly Im going this year for the 35mm.

    • @houseofintent
      @houseofintent 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're actually get a 26mm FOV since it's an anamorphic. What it should be is at least 1.5x stretch so there's a lot more anamorphic character to it. 1.33x isn't enough.

    • @photojournalists
      @photojournalists 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      House of Intent I understand the math. But that’s 26 on APSC.

  • @houseofintent
    @houseofintent 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I hope they start making 1.5x anamorphic. That would really push the envelope. 1.33x just isnt enough. Besides the aspect ratio and the flares, it really doesn't have much anamorphic characteristics to it. The bokeh isn't even oval so you don't get that cascading background. Don't get me wrong though, what they're doing is great but companies making anamorphic lenses should aim at getting the anamorphic look, not to get close to the cinemascope. 1.33x get's you there on a 16:9 but it sacrifices character. Having at least 1.5x stretch gets you anamorphic look but you'd be getting a 2:67 aspect ratio on a 16:9 sensor. It's a lot wider but it's still useable and it has more character too it. I'm really hope they start making 1.5x scopes

    • @MiaogisTeas
      @MiaogisTeas 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      None of that made any sense. It's a native M4/3 mount that can be converted to APSC if you mistakenly bought a Sony camera in the past. So just get a regular one for your BMPCC

      Nice, yea I noticed it was super sharp and in 2.8 mode never really have seen super sharp images. Debating this or the vazen , decisions decisions

    The low light performance, the flares are nice, but still not seeing much difference compared to a cropped wider angle normal lens.

    If I am going to spend money to shoot anamorphic, I want it to be really good anamorphic. The Suiri lenses just don't look all that cinematic. Probably mostly because it's only 1.33x. I'm not going to buy an Anamorphic lens until I can afford one that's at least 1.8x, and very high quality

      Maybe with the 4K crop! But it’s not a full frame lens. Saying that there’s no way to mount it to RF anyway.

    If the scene is cinematic in front of the camera, it's much easier to make it look cinematic with or without anamorphic lens
