Well done LTFC. Good if not exciting performance vs Millwall on Saturday. The detailed plans appear to be great. Forward thinking in terms of environmental and aesthetic considerations as well as a ambitious capacity that can allow more people to see Luton play but also open up other games and events in the stadium. As someone with past background in planning you want to avoid incremental applications if you can and give as much benefit and consideration to the local community which this seems to have done. All this dependent on sight of the full planning application details in a few weeks of course.

I wonder if seats can be awarded to local charities ....food banks and churches doing community work say. Who are probably best placed to identify people who will really benefit from watching matches. If schools tickets can be awarded via heads for eg improved work, behaviour, effort and so on. So it happens in a managed way and can have an impact rather than scatter gun

As a Luton Town supporter for 65 plus years I want the very best for the club but the new stadium needs to be based on realistic assumptions.
As you guys said a 25000 capacity is probably fine if we are in the Premiership, but realistically over the years we are likely to spend the bulk of our time in the Championship or in Division 1 and that does raise a concern whether a stadium of 25000 is just too big?.The club have placed alot of emphasis of wanting the new stadium to process a great atmosphere similar to Kenilworth Road but there's no bigger dampener on achieving that than a stadium which is regularly only half or two thirds full.Jamie referred to the experience at MK Don's which illustrates the point perfectly.
On balance l think it may make sense to build a stadium with a capacity of circa 20000.
I very much favour locating the stadium near the centre of Luton but there will need adequate parking for locals and visitors

12,000 every week, once you add the 5-6000 waiting for season tickets and a tonne of people who cant get tickets for the odd games.....
New location will bring hundreds more from areas such as st albans harpenden as such an easy train journey to now go. More away fans fpr those who will sell more...
And Lutons population increasing by 10% every 10 years. Future proofing by making it 25000 seems sensible to me and im sure the club has research to back up their 25000

Do you know the cost differential between building stadiums with capacities of 20,000 or 25,000? Do you know what other events (music/boxing etc) become possible to stage with the extra capacity? Do you know what other things become possible underneath the larger stands - additional catering etc on match days or a museum and other local amenities on other days? No, I don't know the answer to these questions either but I have faith that the club have considered everything regarding the stadium design and capacity very carefully and will make sure that if, say, on a cold Tuesday night only 20,000 turn out, the empty seats will be at the back, out of sight.
There is much more that just an extra 5,000 seats to consider.
As for parking - I would think it very unlikely that there will much, if any, public parking on match days. The point of the town centre location is that there are two stations, a busway, other bus routes and even an airport all very close. As people make their way on foot to or from their transport link it opens up the town centre for those local businesses that are ready to take advantage. Newcastle United have the classic city centre location but I don't think you'll find any Newcastle or visiting fans complaining that their official car park has virtually no capacity for fans.

You make a number of very valid points.Like you I don't know all the answers but trust that the club are reviewing the various considerations in a realistic way and not just through rose tinted spectacles.
On parking I'm sure the council will want to ensure that the town center does not become gridlocked every home game. @@stevetownsend7478
