What did you make of the tactical changes Rob made last weekend?
It's very parculiar that what is happening to the team is a mirror image of a good few clubs that fell out of the premier League . Watford Norwich and hull come to mind
Lewis makes a very good point, playing RW on the right against a player who nearly always cuts inside. .. but twitter!
The set up was what many had asked for. Basically a 4-4-1-1. As you say, we were nearly always second best to the ball. Doesn't matter who plays where or who the manager is, giving the ball away, not fighting to win the ball and not taking chances is not going to win points.
ps. Agree Clicker shouldn't have started.
btw, on the 'older fans', I think you may misunderstand many of us. Having supported the team for longer also means you're older. If not wiser, at least more world weary! (it's like protesting something when you're young that you never would later in life because you know by then it won't achieve anything.)
So it's more about accepting that the board wont be sacking him for a couple of months at the earliest so we might be best to stop whining and concentrate on supporting and showing we've confidence in them because confidence is what we're desperately lacking.
Great pod, thank you guys. Think we're beyond different formations. Edwards by his bizarre tinkering and whatever is going on in training is taking gifted players and destroying their talent and confidence. It is so sad to witness a guy who took us up, ironically playing the type of system we would like to see now, looking broken and lost. His mental health must be suffering, he's probably having sleepless nights. As you just said I was writing that the board need to bring this to an end for humanistic reasons, if nothing else.
Some of the Luton players have had their heads turned by the Premier league...and think they are better than to be in this team.....Edwards style of play started after the Brighton game....has steadily got worse....I think if he had changed to basic 442 we may have just scraped survival.....now...no effort ...no leader....no clue. Embarrassing.
