Catching picky smallmouth bass in July (Mille Lacs Lake)
This might have been one of the best day’s in a long time I’ve had smallmouth fishing and to top it off, the hardest part of the season for me as a smallmouth junky. Everything lined up and I can share a little bit on how it was done. Bait selection was huge and so was FFS. Love it or hate it but that was key in targeting fish. As a lot of you guys know isolated boulders can really be the deal but finding schooling fish using sand to rock can be really effective this time of year. I caught 26.7 lbs in damn near mid July and I couldn’t be happier! NMS is coming really soon on how to fish these guys in July-August!
