Nice vid! Our 2003 Vibe GT just rolled 250k and were doing a ton on work to it to keep ot going. Probably more than the car is worth but I love it too much to get rid of it.
I probably would have changed the "lift" bolts as a maintenance procedure while the cover was off. Auto parts stores won't have them so it's a visit to a Toyota dealership or an online resource. They are a point of failure, so it's a good idea to replace them.
Is this pretty common on these? I just bought one of these cars with nearly 200k miles and it has a slight leak, but looking up from under the engine it doesn't appear to be the valve cover--though I'm not sure what else it could be. How did you determine this was the problem and has the fix worked?
I could just tell visually. You could have an oil pan leak, rear main or front main seal and possibly others. It is common on a lot of cars to have a valve cover leak especially with higher milage. It worked for me.

@@DJsHotRodFab Sounds good. It's coming from higher than the oil pan but seems to be lower than the valve cover but maybe it's not. Maybe I'll just do it, it's easy enough then go from there.
AutoZone did me wrong too ! 😭😂
Haha, they do that pretty regularly
thanks for your video, it help me to do the same on my 2004 vibe gt
Glad I could help

They are great cars.

I am not aware of these lift bolts. Do they have something to the "lift" part of VVTL-I?
@@DJsHotRodFab yes

What year doest it fit ?
The difference is in the engine not the year. 2ZZ vs 1ZZ. A GT vs All other models.
