I am new to Banana Stem dishes and trying to include it in daily cooking. How can I make out that the Banana Stem is fully cooked? Because even after cooking it in the Pressure cooker it does not appear to be fully cooked. When Banana Stem is fresh & tender, is it normal if there is any Fibrous residue leftover in your mouth even after you chew it? And should that fibre residue be swallowed or not?
Either we can cook the stem or eat raw . Remaining will be ok to eat. We do have many banana stem recipes, please watch , prepare and enjoy the dishes .
@@SwayamPaaka I have followed the instructions in your recipe/s but even after cooking on the stove for 10 mins and then in the pressure cooker for 3 whistles, the chopped banana stem pieces remained fibrous and chewy. So I am wondering if there is something about the quality of the banana stem that should be kept in mind while buying. Also the stem did not produce too much fiber while cutting (like how you show in your videos). Was it that the banana stem was old and not tender? This is the 3rd time it has failed - so I am wondering what could be wrong.
Sorry I missed your message. even it is not fully cooked it is ok to consume. 1.Hope you have removed all the outer layers and used the only the center part of the stem 2. thinly slice the stem and follow instructions shown in the video Old stems are also ok, some plants are more fibrous as well. Only way to remove is the way we have shown here. When you buy, look for a stem that is white or light cream in color. Do not select ones that have brown or black sides, and also look for the center part of the stem is large.
