    Yeah, I'm a Boomer with a capitol "B" baby.....I remember as a 12 yr. old seeing this as it first was broadcast on TV in '66. First time seeing it since. RIP Dino Danelli.....God Bless you, you were a badass drummer, sir. Man, we Boomers were blessed, weren't we?

    Dino’s stick twirling was so awesome. Amazing drummer. Everyone in that band were perfect in what they added to the whole. Extraordinary band.

    Love The Young Rascals. I am Australian have loved them since I was 13. I am 68 now. Eddie was gorgeous. At the time they were equal in my mind to Australias Easybeats.

    The Divinyls really knew what they were doing when they covered this fantastic song. This was the first version I ever heard. When I heard Chrissie sing it, she added another level of 'sexy' to the song and I fell in love with this song again.

      I only just learned that the Divinyls were covering this song. The original is so lame by comparison - it is a credit to the Divinyls that they found something here that was worth reworking.

    I listen to Tiem/peace a couple of time a months. Rascels are a very under rated group. Dino can really hit the skins.

    It took me many years to find this song to listen to besides the radio. The notes in that vocal r so free, that cat has the bravado of a Dylan vocal in the old days

    I never appreciated them when I was younger, but they are one of the best harmonizing bands there are. They all have their own special talent, but when they get together, there would a band is all about.

      +Dale Zaugg you to? I saw the Rascals Chicago CSN. without Young 3 dog night . James Gang in a place called the golden lion in Forest Park Plaza in Dayton oh. it was mafia run in them days. I had my Bros Draft card saying I was 18 I really was 16. Back then in Ohio the drinking age was 18. All the beer you could drink for $3. Those were the good days .

      One of the few groups that actually sound as good in person as on vinyl. The four headed their own top groups in Jersey and NYC before creating this super group. Two, Eddie Brigati and Felix Cavalierre, were in Joey Dee and the Starlighters, as well as Eddie's brother, David, who often sang on the Rascal records. When you think of Joey Dee think the Peppermint Lounge, the bigget rockin' club in the world in the sixties.

      Generally, in older live performances, the music was canned (the original recorded tracks) but the vocals were live and you can tell by watching/listening if the vocals are different from the original. In this case, they are and you can see them improvise at times (Felix @3:36 with "Oh, no nooo!) as well as Eddie singing slightly off key @3:23 "Choose, is it him or me-e-e-."

      Another cue is to watch the drummer closely. The fills are there or not there. Rarely do drummers play it exactly like the recorded version.

    WOW! I've never listened/watched this song, I really love their songs, but I'm thinking this one is right up there at the top! These guys are sooooo talented, & ouch, Eddie Brigati voice is really sexy in this song (soulful, bluesy with a lot of attitude) I've noticed in this video & others that they all have rhythm, watch them move!

The only job I've had since 1974 has been as a singing guitar player and this song "I ain't gonna eat out my heart anymore" is in my (very long) song list.

    That whole routine with Alan King was fun. I think I saw that on TV back then. I definitely remember the Rascal's costumes & the set. There were lots of good variety shows in the '60s, with music and comedy. Good family viewing.
