I still have a 2015 SL w/ 140K miles, usually I average 27 mpg (no issues with CVT or motor). This is a good grand tourer, for long distances. I love it and don't care it has a CVT (the engine on the Pathfinder is the same 3.5L, so no bigggie). Just came back from Europe, rented a hybrid Renault Arkana, very solid vehicle too but smaller(I know French but it's a good car. I'm surprised due to politics they don'tt bring them over to the US); I still prefer the Murano though..

I dismissed this car completely … until I rented one last month for two weeks…. Might be dated but wow was it a nice drive! No complaints really made me think twice about the murano.

For those complaining about the so-called dated design: redesign is coming in the 2025 model year. You can google it. I personally like the current design better, but to each his own.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the old school CD player it still has. That would be great for the older demographic that still uses them.

After watching this review and looking at other comments it's not that surprising why this SUV isn't more desirable. It's in dire need of some major updates.

Nissan's 9spd transmission would transform the Murano, Maxima, and Altima.

I've had two muranos over the years... they drove really well. I felt some "slippage" with the second one in year 2 and I didn't want to pay the cvt price so I got out of it. Bought the new pathfinder last year and couldn't be happier. Why Nissan keeps the cvt when there are enough known issues out there is beyond me.
If they changed to the pathfinder's 9 speed transmission, I would consider a Murano again.

These are some reliable cars according JD Power it sits low but a nice vehicle agree definitely needs a 9 speed automatic.

Agree re the powertrain. The CVT shows its limits for sure sometimes. I have a 2015 Murano SL AWD (here in Canada). Interesting unless that's changed, as I know tech has evolved since and changed within the trim levels. But my SL has the leather, Bose system , and panoramic roof. Maybe that's a Canadian standard in SL trim, and different in the US?

I have a 2023 Murano, but I am not able to get the announcement that says "unpaved road" every time I take off from my house. Any ideas how to do it? Other than that its a nice SUV.

The CVT is, in my opinion, the only major red flag for the Murano. A 7 speed, or even a 9 speed transmission would absolutely make this car so much better.

6 speed is the most reliable and comfortable.

I loved this murano when it came out for the 2015 model year. Needs a redesign. Nissan invented the crossover with the murano in 2002. It’s a shame they have neglected to keep it up to date. Murano can no longer compete w the competition any longer. Nissan has dropped the ball with not keeping the Murano up to date

This generation of the Murano got refreshed inside & out in 2019 so it's been the same since then. The new generation will be unveiled later this year so stay tuned for that. It's going to be a big upgrade

It still has that kind of jelly bean shape like the previous Pathfinder. It isn't horrible or anything, but needs similar update like the Pathfinder.

This generation Murano is super dated and old in terms of design and interior. I mean that interior is literally from like 2014 and still looks the same, the power train needs to be updated, and the design is still the same on the exterior. Definitely not really worth anymore. Heck, I’d take the GT-R’s interior over this one. I mean Nissan just needs to overhaul this car soon. They’re terrible at updating their vehicles.

One of the ugliest steering wheel designs along side the steering wheel Ford used in all of the F-Series and E-series trucks in the early 2000s

This steering wheel design isn't from 2003. This is the same steering wheel the previous gen Pathfinder had when it debuted
