I always smile when somebody asked me one of those who is the greatest guitarist… Or who is the best guitarist Clapton or Beck and I always say yes. I took it for granted until I got older. I was 15 in 1973. The music was just so freaking amazing. These two guys with the tip of the iceberg. What about their third partner in crime?
Incredibly beautiful! Jeff and Eric together on stage… This song… Their mesmerizing playing and musicianship… Outstanding! RIP, Jeff Beck. May you sail along through eternity on the most perfect notes you’ve played for us all.

My dad showed me a whole new world of music. I loved so much, like you and your dad. We love our dad's. Thank you. My dad was from GERMANY 🇩🇪. Where's your dad from❓❤️🌹🌹🀄
No sadness here. After following him for fifty years, he is where he belongs. Left a legacy of excellent music, inspiration to so many musicians, and a guitar maestro that won't easily be copied. A life not wasted and a job well done. Welcome home, Jeff. Hope we meet some day.
As a child, I heard this song so many times on the radio with my dad that I pretty much associated it with my dad. When he passed away in 2004, I sang this song during the two hour journey back home for the funeral, weeping with memories and loss. It still hits me like that!
I used to skate to this song. I am 75 now and live in New Zealand but hearing it transports me instantly back to Durham in the UK, fifteen years old and a wonderful life to be lived (not that I feel much older now!). Thanks for posting, Tony.
Just discovered this gem after Jeff Beck died. It is by far the most beautiful version I've ever heard. Beck's guitar and Clapton's voice . . . makes me cry every time I hear it.

"Your My Huckleberry"! This too reminds me of my Mom and Dad's love for each other. 64 years of love they shared and right up 'til they had to part at 80 (mom), she sat in his lap and they walked holding hands. 💔 I don't think I have ever seen two people more in love. This planet is a tough place to be without my mommy and daddy. What a gift they gave us kids. Beautifully done be E.C.and J. B. I ALSO Love Eric's "Over the Rainbow".
I am sitting here with my eyes filled with tears. My mom passed away 46 years ago and this was her favorite song. Thank-you Peter and Jeff for playing this beautiful, moving version.
I was ten years old when this song was written. My dad gave me the soundtrack album for Breakfast At Tiffany's because I loved this tune & it wasn'tavailableas a 45. It the first of what became a very large collection.
This is the greatest generation of musicians. Parents and grandparents need to listen to this with their kids, and show them what GREAT music is and who GREAT musicians are. Don't go forward to find great music--go back. If your radio station has a "request day," request the musicians who made music worth listening to. 🎶 💜💜 Don't let it die.😞
two of best ever playing one of the best-My Dad played the piano every night after supper and this was one I learned just standing next to piano singing along. Many years later, when I got married, I chose this song for our father/daughter dance...We danced the whole time while my 77 year-old Daddy sang it in ear...treasuring that dance forever.
I still can't get over Jeff Beck's passing. I've been watching a lot of TH-cam videos of his performances and it amazes me how he can take a simple melody and turn it into something spectacular. This tune is a perfect example. He sticks to the melody, doesn't deviate from it, and doesn't throw in any flashy gymnastic, pyrotechnic playing like a lot of other players would when they get bored with just playing the melody. And yet just listening to him play like this, sounds amazing. RIP Mr.Beck.
incredible!!! Wow! Never would have imagined Beck and Clapton doing a guitar version of this classic song. Two all time rock stars playing a classic. Shows you how great they both are. but for Eric to play rhythm and allow Jeff to lead, tells you how other guitar greats feel about how great Jeff really is.

Mostly his bowing technique
Incredibly beautiful! Jeff and Eric together on stage… This song… Their mesmerizing playing and musicianship… Outstanding! RIP, Jeff Beck. May you sail along through eternity on the most perfect notes you’ve played for us all.
I was there that night, hard to believe it was 12 Years ago. Even harder to believe Jeff Beck has passed away. R.I.P. Jeff Beck....Gone but will never be forgotten by us music fans.......😪
I love these two guys together. They just had such respect for one another
Like Haynes and Trucks and just for kicks add Herring!
They've been mates since Jeff joined The Yardbirds
This is so beautiful. Clapton is every guitar's huckleberry friend.
th-cam.com/video/1jFunYwrE1o/w-d-xo.html
Clapton stinks. He is vastly overpaid.
Man, they blended so well together, RIP Jeff
My Dad would have loved this version with Jeff and Eric. When I was growing up taking piano lessons I played this often because he loved it. Still reminds me of him and what pals we were. Miss him so.
My dad showed me a whole new world of music.
I loved so much, like you and your dad. We love our dad's. Thank you. My dad was from GERMANY 🇩🇪. Where's your dad from❓❤️🌹🌹🀄
My Dad lived in America but was from England background. I grew up in Connecticut and my Dad and I did everything together, sports, camping, running.
I grew up playing this on piano too.
Nothing like this. ❤️
@@AbleBodied good to hear this.
No sadness here. After following him for fifty years, he is where he belongs. Left a legacy of excellent music, inspiration to so many musicians, and a guitar maestro that won't easily be copied. A life not wasted and a job well done. Welcome home, Jeff. Hope we meet some day.
You'll shine like the moon forever, Jeff. Loved your music.
As a child, I heard this song so many times on the radio with my dad that I pretty much associated it with my dad. When he passed away in 2004, I sang this song during the two hour journey back home for the funeral, weeping with memories and loss. It still hits me like that!
the bee gees words

Here I am, three years after the above comment and yep, tears in my eyes. Dad, I miss you!
Frankly Frank , I sing it with my son on stage. I know what you are feeling.
this song reminds me of my father too, he passed away in 2003, his birthday was a few days ago, I still miss him so much...
After my bro's funeral 6 months ago; I've played this video till my eyes got dry!!
Rest in Peace Jeff Beck 🤍 this will always be one of my favorite performances by him
I used to skate to this song.
Me too
I know
Me too
It's called history folks. These 2 great elder rock and rollers remembered their musical history. They're showing respect here.
My Heart is full of love after listening to how beautiful Eric & Jeff pour themselves into one of the best lyrics and music ever written and played! :)
@Renae Nagle, yeah Eric actually missed his cue at the start, he was so mesmerized by Jeff's playing. Very sad to hear of Jeff's passing.
The way they make that guitar cry so sweetly makes me cry. So lovely.
Two of the best
What a beautiful rendition from two icons. Brings tears to my eyes😢
Can't get over the loss months later . The greatest of all time . EC right up there with SRV. So much soul and heart .
That is a priceless memory!!!
Sobs..........
That’s a beautiful memory. Thank you for sharing!
My mother loved Andy Williams & I grew up listening this song but I LOVE this version!
My mother used to play her Andy Williams records on the console stereo.
@@lindakickliter9934 👍!
RIP Jeff. Wonderful guitar work
I still can't get over Jeff Beck's passing.
Two of the best guitarists ever! Fabulous rendition!
Crapton isn't fit to tie Beck's shoelaces.
The sound Jeff Beck gets is astounding
There is no need to draw anything else to explain something here. Use the imagination. 3:13
incredible!!! Wow! Never would have imagined Beck and Clapton doing a guitar version of this classic song. Two all time rock stars playing a classic. Shows you how great they both are. but for Eric to play rhythm and allow Jeff to lead, tells you how other guitar greats feel about how great Jeff really is.
Respect to the past this country has lost what this represents
@@bcb2555 - I had to read your post three times before I understood what your meaning was. It wasn’t that it was difficult but it’s your choice of how you placed the words. Very well said. Sad but true. Hope we can change that.
It's one of the best songs of all-time. So glad it's still appreciated.
I am so sad . Just heard Jeff Beck has died due to an operation complication when he contacted Meningitis.
So sad , heart felt love and condolences to Eric and Jeff’s family .
We will miss him 🙏🏻🎸🎶🎼
I remember summers on Cape Cod, playing outside at night at my parents friends house. All the adults were inside talking and dancing and the kids were outside playing. They would ALWAYS play this song. I remember it drifting out the window, through the soft summer night air and it gave me a funny feeling inside that it STILL evokes to this day, fifty seven years later. That is the mark of a GREAT tune!!!
EmmausRoad , well written little story, beautiful.
Timeless song ... sweet memories. Thank you for sharing.
We are all sooo... Lucky, to have lived in a time, a period, when there has been so many, such great expressive musicians, especially guitarist for most of us. I know how lucky I have been to have seen so many of them perform Live, many times, through out their careers... WOW!!! I'm just blown away....It's ... JMHO......
Jan 10th 2023.
R.I.P.
JEFF BECK
MAKEING MUSIC IN HEAVEN
Andy Williams had such a big hit with Moon River that it is still remembered till this day....and here are two masters to prove it's true. Thank you boys
Jeff and Eric both phenomenal guitar players ,seen both live when their playing it’s Spine tingling . Rest in peace. Mr Beck.
What a beautiful cover of a classic, linking yesterday to today. Those who we have loved and lost are never gone, as long as we remember them, and listening to music like this brings them closer. Thank you for sharing this…
SPECIAL....beyond mere words....no matter the language >>>>
Beautiful love this music, so peacefully done, brings back fond memories, thank you
Oh my god! What a great guitarist by the name of Jeff Beck. The most underrated.
“Under-Rated” ... he’s playing lead-guitar for Clapton !
Under rated????? Jeff Beck?? Sorry but do some research!! One of, if not the, most renowned guitarists of the 20th century and now.
@@lisadc4681 How many Jeff Beck concerts have you attended, including people you know? Can you even remember where he last played? Jeff Beck is well respected among all rock musicians but he was never able to get the recognition and fame of Clapton, or Jimmy Page, for example. That's why I said "underrated." For me he sits at the top
Glad to see you love him but not like I do. Believe me.
2 guitar hero’s ~sharing the spotlight -total artist respect’ -class act - what a treat esp for all lifetime fans in this classic …roCk oN
This is absolute perfection. I have been a Radio jock on all genres of music. Currently I host a Sunday morning internet Nostalgia show on KABL, playing Andy Williams (Moon River) and the likes, and Saturday evening I host a Rock and Blues internet show on KZAP (playing Beck and Clapton and the likes)...this combines the two genres unbelievably. Rest in Peace Jeff Beck.
This never gets old. I just love it.
What perfection from the best of my generation ❤
mine too
RIP Jeff Beck. Thanks for the music. Be well Eric Clapton 🎶
Breathtaking, soulful...A couple of maestros breathing new life into an old chestnut of a song...thanks Eric and Jeff the music transcends his untimely passing...
Beautiful rendition. Heartfelt and Soulful. A new romantic classic to dance to with your honey.
Hey C'mon people, really?!...only 5 million views in more than 10 years, these two legendary guitarists are just the two of the best and greatest of all time...!!!
its so wonderful that it makes me cry, thinking about my parents that passed away. They loved it💧💧and i do too.Thank you Jeff and Eric🙏
God Bless You
Only one man can cause Eric Clapton to become a rhythm guitarist.... he is Jeff Beck!
Or Mark Knopfler
good point man, never thought about it
Well whose going to sing? Cause Jeff cannot sing for shit lol.
Don't agree. No one I'd rather hear play guitar than Eric Clapton. No one.
Or Mark knopfler
I feel blessed to have seen both of these legends live a few times.
RIP Jeff Beck
Surprised that a couple of rockers chose this song but it's a great one beautifully performed!
No one mortal should have any right to be this good at making music. There is Jeff Beck, and there is everyone else.
MOON river is so old!! Beautiful
@@jennapuhl596 1961. Not so old really. Henry Mancini who was not a young man when he wrote the tune, died in '95. Audrey Hepburn who first sang it died in '93 at the age of '63.
I suppose if you are young, 50+ years ago seems very old but there are many songs much older than that which are still popular.
Andy Williams version is way better, any thought otherwise is foolish.
Whoops there is Slowhand then Jeff Beck😍
❤
Another friend lost his son to drug addiction today this gave me some peace.
Great music is just great music, just as great musicians are great musicians. At 70 years of age having grown up listening to this just sends me back in time.
What a beautiful combination Eric with a mercyfull voice and Jeff with a great string touch. Thank you for the this classical joy
I was fortunate enough to see them during this tour in NYC. I am especially grateful since Jeff's unexpected passing. A legend.
You see John, a beautiful song is timeless no matter how old we are🤗. I'm 66 too but have loved this song since I was a child. ❤️
A beautiful karoake song which we love to sing like " My Way"
Beautiful rendition, brings tears to my eyes. Their guitars sing for them🙂
