The first time I ever heard David Sanborn's sax was on the Butterfield Band album "Crabshaw" back in the 60's and he was incredible even then. He's sure paid his dues for the last 60 years! What an incredible time it's been and now to hear him with Crow and Clapton just brings tears to my eyes! So incredibly lucky to live in the time of all of this great music! Thank you Lord!
Funny trivia I discovered: Sanborn and Clapton arranged the music for the first Lethal Weapon movie. His sax playing is very distinctive in the movie. I imagine he, Clapton and Mel Gibson had a great time making that movie

I have been following Eric for just the last 50 years and I've yet to hear him make a mistake, As a Hendrix fan, or obsessive, Jimi would have loved this. He would have dedicated a few licks to Sheryl. She's foxy.
Wow ! Eric Clapton Sheryl Crow ,Steve Gadd ,Nathan East ,David Sanborn ,Andy F Low and the others I mean come on this is truly one of the best renditions of that song ever ! just stellar.

The way Clapton looks at David Sanborn shows that he knows a great artist when he sees him. Never one to steal the limelight. Same when he plays with Derek Trucks. A real team player, love that about him.
Wow, the moment every talent on stage felt and knew Sanborn was gonna steal the thunder was just plain incredible!! Not to many people can do that to Mr Clapton.

Of course, remember that Eric ALLOWS others to be stars - totally unselfish. The true great ones realize that others can share the spotlight. Kudos, Eric ❤.
Well, in the few cases - I remember Derek Trucks - he just smiles and appreciates what the other guy is doing, and that's what makes him such a great musician, always ready to share the limelight.
Someone said it earlier..."Wow!!" What a band...and each member knew it and knew that they were sharing a special time. Definitely worth a few tears of joy.
One of the most beautiful renditions to Jimmies chords, just like the Hotel California chords. I rest my case. Clapton and Crow have an exceptional chemistry in this song and what that represents to people in the music community worldwide. Peace from Ireland 🇮🇪
Sanborn was killing it and that is why Eric had him on stage. EC was so humble and recognized good talent. Always willing to go above and beyond with other artists.
Those three smiles, the joy and appreciation, are the most beautiful thing. There's such beauty in greatness combined with humility. No words. So beautiful.
Nathan East is a wonder. I saw EC a couple months ago. After the show, Nathan stayed on stage looking over the audience, taking pictures of us. I think he realizes this is probably it for Clapton as far as touring except for one-off shows, so he is savoring every bit he can.
He changed my life. I play guitar. This song is the best of the best. How cool Eric, David, and all other. After Solo of David, Eric and David smile each other. How nice.Sheryl Crow as well. David and Eric solo is.... i cannot express...just move my heart so much. He is coming to Japan next year to Japan and he will be 80 years old. Legend ia still alive.
I've watched this a bunch of times, Sheryl Crow's support vocals are so great. Everyone is really good here. Steve Gadd just laying it down. Some of the best reactions to a sax solo, lol. Everyone is having so much fun!!! Eric brings some intensity with that second solo, the energy level was really up after that first break.
It's an ecstasy when you get into that trance as a musician.. as an audience it's a satisfaction for the soul.. You will always be a legend for me Mr Clapton, cudos to you Mr Sanborn. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I think Eric was smiling cuz Sandborn stole the spotlight and of coarse he just couldnt help himself, and thats the magic of live music. People just doin what comes natural. Thank you all. Just a magnifiscent performance.
Great performance of Jimi Hendrix's Little Wing!! Eric did a similar version on Layla. He had just bought a left-handed strat for Jimi's birthday and was devastated to learn during the time Derek & the Dominos was recording the Layla album that Jimi had died. People who view them as rivals don't know they were actually good friends.

It is indeed a class gathering of class musicians you however left out Nathan East the bass player who on this song is really prominent and one of the best in the industry
Eric and Sheryl walked towards the mikes a few times during Sanborn's solo and he was in his own word so they just let him rock on. wow! Rumor has it that if that if they hadn't started singing again, he would still be playing.
