Thanks for sharing. In the army, we used panchos to keep us and our weapons dry. They also served as ground sheets and bevies at night. You could cover your upright kayak in storage, and then use it to cover yourself in the rain
I just picked up a couple of kayaks and your idea has me going with a small trailer I have. Thank you. I will tow this to the lake behind the Camry instead of the truck which gets 12 mpg.
I like seeing new way to solve problems. I will probably build a tray that fits on the floor of my little trailer. I have a couple of suggestions. I think you should have used a little larger bit for your tap drill. It shouldn't take a huge amount of torque to tap the hole. Secondly, be careful with your anchor rings. The load rating is for a straight pull. When you apply the load to the the side of the ring, the rating is greatly reduced (on eyebolts, it drops to 25% of the straight load rating). It should be okay, but check them regularly.
What size is your trailer and I have a 10ft 6inch kayak do you think that would interfere with the turning radius while driving with the overhang? Thanks
Mike Fulton Thanks for sharing this video I may use something stronger like 4by4’s to support the weight better and larger i hooks to make sure they definitely wouldn’t move.
Great idea using a utility trailer for kayak transport! You setup everything in an easy and efficient way. Easy setup and take down, nice job
Thanks
Brilliant approach. Simple and efficient.
Thanks

that's a good idea thanks
Good job Mike and also it still works for being able to carry sheet products too.
.
Good job
Thanks
Should use an eye bolt so you can use it for tie down

Good points thanks for that
Nice job 👍👍👍
Thanks Bob
Great job - easy and simple solution!
What are the dimensions of the trailer?
Thanks for sharing!
5x8
What bolts did you use to bolt the 2x4 to the frame of the trailer
Just 3/8” bolts
hi mike love the idea i plan on doing this. Is this setup still working good for you or would you change anything after using it for a year.
Actually I found it much easier to just put the kayaks on the trailer itself. No I don’t use the setup anymore.
@@mfwoodshopgood to know thank you sir for the info

It’s 8ft and my Kayaks are 10ft I’ve had no issue

how much wieght do you thing that will hold? I have 2, 85 lb kayaks 12 feet. I will drop the gate
I would think it would be fine. If not you could do a I-Beam type with a few 2x4's that will sure be enough.
Can i put 3 j racks in the top 2x4?
no sure what a J Rack is, but I would assume so.
Kayak rack
Oh, then yes ive had 4 on mine with no issues
Are your kayaks 10 foot? I’m looking to do the same build just wanted to be sure on the sizes. Thanks for the great video.
yes 10 foot
Your shop looks a lot smaller from this angle Mike.
Ya, it is a small shop
When you film inside your shop it always looked bigger to me. Maybe it's the magic of Television?
Either way, I have always liked your shop layout.
The camera add 10LBS, LOL
I hope the couch didn't end up with some blue racing stripes.... lol
Lol, no I removed everything
