  • Returning to mouse reviews with an amazing mouse, these new DeathAdders are much improved over the old ones. As someone who used to use DeathAdders as a main, it's great to finally see some of these changes.
    Definitely worth checking out if your hand and grip fit the size and shape, but it is a large mouse, and as always, I do recommend go as small as possible.
    Please be patient as I update the top mice list, I'll add mice as I do videos for them, so yeah I'll get to the Viper V2 soon, which should actually take top place now that Finalmouse have discontinued the Starlights.

    My main buying point is optical switches. It's nice knowing that the switch is going to last longer than every other part of the mouse, never have to worry about double clicking. Right now still using the Viper Mini, hoping they offer a midrange wireless model soon. I highly recommend not running Razer Synapse on your computer.

      yh Im currently on Viper v2 pro cos of the optical switch, the shape is not perfect for me and is too flat but after adjusting to it, it's still a very good mouse. I just got the DAv3 wired and I gotta say I fell in love with it the moment I put it in my hand and started using it. The mouse shape is PERFECT. I love it to death. You can move this mouse around so easily compared to my last mouse the SS Rival 310. It feels really good going back to the Deathadder. I haven't owned one in a few years. This mouse is built so well. Ohh I am using 1600 dpi...... There is a big latency difference from 800 and you just divide your sens in half.

    I was using Glorious Model O for around 3 years, and lately have been getting some wrist pain due to how it is in the middle of being not large enough for me to comfortably grip it in palm, and not small enough for claw/ftip. I was given a Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 at work and noticed that I had much less strain on my wrist with that mouse. After release of DAv3 I've initially liked the shape due to similarity and latest tech. Since grabbing it, I can use it for longer and also have improved my aim since I'm now more comfortable using that mouse and don't think about how I have to grip the mouse all the time. Right now I have something in between of claw and palm - my fingers curl up a bit, but rest of my hand is rested on the back of the mouse. With balanced/speed pad (AC+) I feel like this is the best setup for me rn

    Recently, i picked up a corsair sabre rgb pro because I wanted to try out a higher polling mouse. Only cost like 35 dollars on amazon. Even though im only on 165hz, I could tell it was definitely smoother than my current 1k polling cooler master MM712. But even then, I still prefer my MM712. The shape and the coating means more to me than even having a more accurate/faster sensor. I guess consistency and comfort is more important to the pros than the latest and greatest tech.

    After a long time with the dav3 I can say that I would love for three things to be different:
    - More forward sensor position (not much just 0,5-0,7cm)
    - I changed my grip into more of a claw grip, and I keep noticing, that it is hard for me to grip the mouse with my pinky finger. I wish it flared in a bit more likt the older deathadders.
    - the older lower front of the buttons allowed me for a more secure / snug grip. Yes that encourages people to palm grip, but I found it a lot more comfortable, maybe a middleground would be the way to go.

    I wish I liked this thing, but I couldn’t get a good grip on it. I bought this alongside a viper v2 with the plan to pick one and return the other. Because I was a palm gripper I thought I’d pick this no problem. Plus, I had hand pains with the viper at first. But after a while I realized I couldn’t get a decent grip on it. It always felt like it was gonna slip out 9f my hand. And the more I went back to the viper, the more I liked that, and my grip style changed to suit it. The hand pains went away too. This, plus me getting the viper for around $50 off led to me picking that instead. And now I‘ve basically been forced into a claw grip lol. It’s pretty comfortable and I’m happy with it, but I always think about what could have been, considering this was the better mouse for me on paper.

    I was excited about the DA V3 non-pro as well, not because of the 8k polling but because of the shape. If there was a DA V3 Mini pro/non-pro, that's probably what I would try next since my main now is a Keris Aimpoint wireless which falls into the small ergo mouse category from my previous Lamzu OG, and I totally agree with RJN when he says going smaller is better.

    The stuttering in Quake Champions at higher polling rates with raw input enabled is a conundrum to me. I have two PCs one x470 based one x570 and I’ve found that the hitch only happened on the x570 pc. I have tried all the tricks and hints I could read up on to fix it on the x570 none have worked. It happens at 4k polling with a viper v2 pro and a Gwolves 4k as well but stops at 2k. I don’t have any wired mice to test the 8k but I’m sure the issue would persist.

    Hi, I’ve been using a Mamba Elite for the last few years and it only recently started acting up (random disconnects from the computer at random intervals which interrupt tracking), previously I used the DeathAdder Elite but i much prefer the shape of the Mamba Elite (I find the outward curvature on the deathadder elite, especially on the right side (when looking from top down) to be too aggressive) (I also love the tilt scroll since I play games and do programming too but I know this feature is not really a thing in modern gaming mice). I have rather big hands and prefer a asymmetrical mouse shape. I’ve been looking to get a new mouse to replace my current dying Mamba Elite though I’m not sure what to choose. I’ve heard that the DeathAdder V2 has slightly reduced curvature but I’m not sure how much that is the case and how much closer it is to the Mamba and how this new V3 model compares to it too. I’m also open to other options from other manufacturers. What recommendations/suggestions would you be able to give for my case? Thanks in advance!

By your encouragement I've switched Steelseries Prime Wirless to G305, and then I've tried Orochi V2. I was comparing Orochi vs G305, despite your opnion that Logi has better shape, I've found that Razer suits me more. It feels more stable and confident in my hand than G305. Maybe that's because of my hand ratio - 17:9,5cm, which is more similar to orochi v2 ratio 🤔

    Great review as per usual, also a bit nostalgic :D. Anyways, I wanted to ask you something in regards to the MZ1 wireless, because I'm considering buying it. I know that it uses a slightly controversial MCU known for its idle delay (about 10ms extra click latency if the mouse hasn't been moved for 5 seconds). However, I also know that XTRFY's newest mouse - the M8 - has some new firmware that removed this 'problem.' My question to you is: Do you know if this firmware has applied to the MZ1 wireless as well - or in other words, is that idle delay no longer an issue? Thanks in advance, and hope more reviews are coming soon!

    • @pzogel
      @pzogel ปีที่แล้ว

      Neither the M8 Wireless (w/ default firmware) nor the MZ1 Wireless have the flat delay added after five seconds of button and sensor inactivity. The flat delay is only present on the X2/X2 Mini w/ launch firmware and Atlantis Mini with the "short sleeping mode" firmware. Instead, on the M8 and MZ1, the first click event after the five second idle delay will be extended to an effective click latency of roughly 9 ms, provided the debounce time is equal to or lower than 6 ms. Hence, if debounce time is 2 ms, 4 ms of latency will be added, at 4 ms, 2 ms will be added, and at 6 ms or higher, nothing will be added.

    i am curious as to why you havent designed a "wide" mouse? like the coolmaster mm720 with width of 7cm or more? i have 20x10 hands and even though this mouse is short it is the WIDTH that makes it feel good in the hand. this is because it fills more of the pouch of your palm therefore reducing the manipulating needed to "grasp" the mouse, reducing fatigue and causing your hand to flare outward by force so no energy is spent on contracting your hand. we need mice with new ergo shapes with 7CM or more width

    Love your reviews from a lot of years until today. Over the years I've bought mouses based on your reviews and feedback. I love the old deathadder mouses, but I simply can't use them, since they slip (a LOT) from my hand, especially where it holds the mouse with pinky finger and ring finger. Was a nightmare to me, reposition the crosshair, since mouse it slips real hard from my hand. With the new model v3, it's wayyyy more confortable and stable (less slippy ) - and I have medium/large hands 19.5cm x 10cm. I've tested the razer viper 8k and feels super Confortable using multi-task and gaming, Viper doesn't slip on my hand, at all. . Love the viper, but I am in doubt between the 2. But that's not the principal point.
    One ("stupid" but with logic) question; did you consider Steelseries Qck+ a control mousepad? Finally I found some mice's that I like and suites me , with great shape,flawless sensor and great specs - Razer deathadder v3 wired, and Razer Viper 8K. But after many years (since ever) using Qck (without even thinking about it) I just found now, that this mouse pad feels to fast to me, and makes me have lack of control while gaming and consistency - CS Go - essencially. But since i'de don't experienced other mouse pads, I need a real trusted feedback. Many says that Qck is a control pad, and many other says that is a medium speed mouse pad and not a control pad. I would appreciate opinions, about this subject, especially from you Ninja. Maybe it's a plabebo effect on my head. Or the qck is truly a control mouse pad, compared to all other mouse pads. Like I said, could be placebo effect, but I feel that I have no control over the mouse on this mouse pad, it slips like butter, I feel no actrict / control / stopping power., slides a lotttt, what make me think that it's more a speed pad then a true control pad.. That's the reason of my question - maybe qck is a truly control mouse pad, but I have no comparasion, since I've always used qck+ (first I used the hard surface versions 5D? I think, then I use the qck fabric version for long years, till today . But I notice that I can't place the corroshair always on same spot, even I spend hours training aim, and mechanics.

The ring finger ledge feels like it cuts off way too early (I have never had a mouse feel like it's just missing over an entire cm for a finger before), it's not rounded or wide enough, and the flare somehow seems more intense than the V2 in my hand despite clearly being more recessed. Dav3 wireless with 4k here. 1) dont want to go back to 1k. 4k feels fanstastic paired with 240hz monitor 2) im usually a palm gripper, but I go into fingertip gradually and it feels good like its natural 3) I really wish the clicks were a bit quieter. I switch to my superlight at night time just because the clicks are too loud, but they are satisfying. Would of been a perfect mouse for me if the clicks were quieter and lighter just my preference and opinion. 4) 4k drains battery almost a bajillion times faster! I like my DeathAdder V2 a lot, despite Synapse is horrible. Since I have big hands I would definitely choose a DeathAdder V3 if I had to buy a new mouse. I love that they removed the RGB. It's useless anyway, since you hardly see it while using the mouse. Less weight and less options to configure in Synapse is just great. Last but not least, I also like that they removed the side pads. On my V2, the pad in the thumb area was already heavily worn after a few months, which of course also continuously changed the grip feeling in that area. I'm happy to avoid the side pads and enjoy a consistent grip instead.

    In your video from January 2021 you stated quake champions runs fine on the 8k viper (1:07 in that old video) yet here you showed there were stutters in quake champions. So QC is unplayable at 8k hz at the time of recording?

    • @RocketJumpNinja
      @RocketJumpNinja  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good memory. It's because Quake Champions added raw input since then, so whatever their X input is seems to handle it or just bypass it, while raw input makes it the same as Quake Live and other games with stutters. It's a game engine thing, so whatever games are doing to handle the higher Hz is why some stutter and some don't.

    The reaction time test is an incorrect test to use for this case. As the click latency doesn't change with different polling rate. It only affect the sensor delay.

    • @RocketJumpNinja
      @RocketJumpNinja  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Polling rate is the mouse communicating with the PC, so yeah it actually does help click latency too.

    • @amb1gamermain22
      @amb1gamermain22 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@RocketJumpNinja You're correct, but as seen in Battlenonsense analysis. V8k's Button delay didn't change with the different polling rate. It only changed the sensor delay.
      Another mouse behaved like you explained, which was the G203. The G203 button delay changed with the different polling rate setting.
      So it depends upon the manufacturer to let the button delay be affected by polling rate setting or not.

    • @RocketJumpNinja
      @RocketJumpNinja  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah so for the wired mice, the clicks are always polled at 125us intervals. The user setting only affects sensor data. For wireless mice, the sensor and click data are tied together, and are both affected by polling rate (explained by someone at Razer).

    • @amb1gamermain22
      @amb1gamermain22 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Also since you've replied, I've found a fix for "laggy" or "stuttery" high polling rate mice (4000hz+). And am more than happy to share it in the gaming community.
      it works by assigning a single core for your mouse, and a single core for your GPU. (they shouldn't be assigned to the same core, and not to core 0)
      By using "microsoft interrupt affinity policy tool"
      -Find Intel usb controller and set a single core
      -Find Usb Root Hub and set the same core as usb controller
      -Find Nvidia gpu and set a single core
      If using SMT/HT then assign to every even number (0,2,4,6,8) or odd (1,3,5,7). Because core 0 and 1 are actually the same core, but different threads. So you should assign to only one thread, not both.
      If you need further help we can comment here or through discord "amb6994"

      You should already be aware of all of the models going around, but the Pulsar, Lamzu and GWolves mice are all great.
      As for super budget but still good options, the Darmoshark M3 and the Ajazz 199 are great picks. Both have top sensors and, if you reduce the debouncing time on the software, great performance as well. The Darmoshark has the same shape as the Finalmouse air 58, and although the Ajazz I got looks like the Superlight, is more similar to the viper mini, but with a better and fuller shape in my honest opinion. Both should be avaliable on Ali (although the Ajazz is out of stock atm), and the Darmoshark is on Mechkeys.
