Most people sleep on the guard, until they find out you can deploy a lot, go to the same schools, even go sf, and still live your life. I learned this 12 years later on active duty sadly

Throwing shade at the Reserve hahaha. I switched from Guard to Reserve. I miss the state missions but , at least for my career field, the Reserve deploys overseas more often the Guard.
There's no bad option, just different tradeoffs.

You're smoking crack...national gaurd deploys more than reserves and active duty..during the height of the iraq war over 50% were national gaurd. Right now at this very moment more national gaurd are deployed overseas than any other any branch...literally Google national gaurd deploys..you will find dozens of articles just this passed month alone.

@@CeuT1 There is so much information online, you can probably get the answer to any question you want on the internet. Everyone's experience is so different, there is no way to get an understanding of what the military is like before you go in. You just have to learn from your own experience while you're in. Some advice is to make sure you're in good shape before you go in and choose an MOS that you really want to do.

That one weekend a month is bs, just did a 4 day drill and they are way more common than you may believe, realistically it's mostly 3 day drills and the 2 weeks in summer is sometimes true, this summer my unit is doing 3 weeks.also, if you joining the guard, go chair force (air force) they weak but they get it easy and they get the same pay and benefits with wayyyyyy less bs.
