I feel like Jason hit Select and Y at some point during this SNES RPG survey because his reviews got a lot better over the course of it. Jason Graves, you ARE in HYPER CHINESE MODE.
I'm that insane guy this time around that's excited to hear that Super Chinese World 2 & (moreso) 3 has been translated, as Little Ninja Brothers is one of my favorite NES games. I had checked to see if they ever were translated years ago, and figured the series was unknown to the degree they would never get a fan patch, so it never occurred to me to check again. Honestly disappointed over how Super Chinese World 2 comes across, but I'm legit excited to give the Turn Based Mode in Super Chinese World 3 a try despite it's flaws. You seriously just made my day with this upload! P.S. 15:10 - I acknowledge and approve of the "Blind Gameplay" section
Culture Brain made another RPG-hybrid game called The Magic of Scheherazade for the Famicom and NES way back in 1987, this one having a middle-eastern motif. It is something of a cult classic amongst NES RPGs. I purchased it maybe 13 years ago on a recommendation found it quite enjoyable, if rather strange, and might give you an idea of what Culture Brain was trying to create with all these Super Chinese spinoffs.
When the SNES was new, Super Ninja Boy was actually great, because i hadnt played final fantasy 2 yet probably. I still get that tune stuck in my head once in awhile.
Little Ninja Brothers is a very cool game for the time. It's a cool beginner RPG with none of the extreme grinding it's contemporaries required. The quest is straightforward to figure out mostly. Plays well.
Was never too big into the Super Chinese series. But I liked their sister series: Hiryu no Ken/Flying Dragon. It was neat when they’d cross the two together in a few of the entries.
Way back I use to just window shop rom sites to find games that were similar to secret of mana. I remember coming across chaos seed and being hooked. I saw these too but it slipped my mind at the time. Thank god it did 💀
Much like Jason during the beat-em-up segments of Super Chinese World 2, i am almost always in Hyper Chinese Mode… which means I am on my #GrindSet 💯 🔥 on god ☝️
Oh funny, I literally just finished the 3rd game a month ago both in Action and Turn Based modes and while I got through it relatively quickly...ehhh..I mean, having the special moves and combo possibility in action mode is nice sorta, and in turn based mode,...It definitely was a bit less annoying and switching characters added 'some' strategy for certain specific abilities that were just busted in power and helpful against that annoying final boss who's 5 parts were considered individual enemies, which goes a bit easier in action mode. But literally what you said, Beat em up and RPG, sounds cool but...not exactly done well. I was looking forward to the series after I played SD Hiryu no Ken Densetsu years ago and learned more about Ryu and Jack from Super Chinese. Honestly...Just play Super Chinese Fighter (yeh, it's a bit weird to play, I sadly lost right at the end in my playthrough XD) and the Hiryu no Ken/Flying Dragon series.
The Super Chinese World series is pretty bad. But Culture Brain did make some banger NES games. Little Ninja Brothers is MUCH better than Super Chinese World. The controls are more responsive and the game is just generally more fun. Magic of Scheherazade is another really good NES RPG. It's an Arabian Nights theme that has both Action RPG and Turn-based RPG elements. I recommend giving both of them a shot.
Dude, you went into this already hating this game and your review shows it. And im not even arguing for it being a good game(tho i did enjoy it and had a better/different experience). You went straight in, only found negativesnevwr mentioned the inprovememnts from game to game, and listed all your nitpicks that dont effect game play. Again, you are entitled to your opinion and made valid points. But you didnt even give this game a chance. Even in the 3rd ine, you switched to another game play style. You hated this game series from the jump
"I'm sorry, the town of WHAT?" rewinds to 2:25 "Oh. Alright."
I love your videos because you always keep it real. No bullshit youtuber voice, no fluff, no overexplaining things we already know
that cut to draw me like one of your french girls pose was hilarious.
"She asked if I wanted to butt battle" 😂 then NAKED 😮.
Another amazing video. Loved it ❤️ "dig the thumb nail"
Saw like 20 of you at Sege, wasn't sure which one was the real Jason Graves.
[15:00] Draw me like one of your Super Chinese girls!
Love the new camera setup!
I feel like Jason hit Select and Y at some point during this SNES RPG survey because his reviews got a lot better over the course of it.
Jason Graves, you ARE in HYPER CHINESE MODE.
I see Jason Graves and I click because it's quality
I love your content man! No joke, you're in the top 10 of my favourite TH-camrs.
Passwords in a 1995 RPG. Goddamn.

I was hoping someone would notice I couldn't see the screen LOL
I used to love super ninja boy when I was a kid. 😢 the different genres mixed together blew my mind at the time
Never give a guy a haircut if you can’t trust him.

top tier youtuber
I remember hearing that culture brain was a money laundering scheme for the yakuza. Judging by the quality of their games I wouldn’t be too surprised
I really dig this camera framing for some reason
More videos? I am starting to think Jason doesn't sleep
Why was 15:00 not the thumbnail?
Came for the review, stayed for the naked Jason
The super ninja boys episode is my favorite so I’m glad we get a sequel to it. Hoping it’s just as painful.
Love this series man!
Those early NES/Famicom games that sold well just because they existed really lucked out
I like the cinematography of this review, it's fun
I'm so glad you pointed out that nitpick because it was the first thing I noticed and absolutely HATE it.
Excellent, as always

New J Graves on my homepage, it’s gonna be a good day.
these remind me of Mystical Ninja, on snes. We were glued to it for awhile then, but can't do it today, lol

Your social credits are gonna be in the gutter after this one
Might surprise you to know that some people actually like Kung Fu Heroes, such as SNESdrunk and whoever did the review in Pat Contri's NES book
i'm one of those people! it's just the right kind of simplistic gameplay loop to have an ASMR-like effect on me, idk

15:00 Ay yo! Kingdom mandated nudity is wild

"I'd rather play Shaq Fu"
Bruh
Honestly sounds ok.. grind, some slowdown sucks, but gating areas with stats is fine.. text next to portrait is fine too.. star ocean vibe..

A butt-battle?! 😳
I have no idea how to react to that.

Never trust a guy who needs a haircut
Never trust a haircut who needs a guy
All reviews are going to be recorded naked from now on.
This thumbnail deceived me !!!
15:00 😂
Thumbnail cuts off on mobile and tv, says “hinese world 2 and” looks weird
The sign said long haired people need not apply. Great video.
Just tuck your hair up under your hat and go in to ask them why.
What happened to your rant vid?
What are you hiding?
WHERE ARE THE HOSTAGES, JASON?!
The Gameboy version was good though, controlled well, and was decently long.
The Super Chinese World series is pretty bad.

That was not the cut I was ever expecting to see
Side note, and I know I'm gonna get massacred for this. Super Ninja Boy was one of my favorite SNES games growing up. I still have my copy, in fact.
14:55 I can't believe you Shawn Michaels'd us
hey long haired James Rolfe how u doin
This game was the first Starfield
CultureBrain... a company that had neither
feel like if I made someone play SoM Co-Op they'd try ending me for making them try SCW2 Co-Op.
Hyper Chinese mode can't save that framerate...Dear lord.... 😬

I love Kung Fu Heroes. So many memories. Not cool, dude.

Video is WAY better on 1.25 speed. Makes it sound like the normal speed is unnaturally slow.
bullshit random encounters
You lost me when you said Ninja Boy sucks.
CHY NAH
