  • This video was inspired by the YT videos of Engels Coach Shop about working on an old historic inn. Our church "New Hope Christian Church" rents the first floor of this old building. Here is the link to our church web site if you are interested. www.newhopechr...

Very cool piece of history. It would be awesome to see it restored.

Agreed, but the front rooms have been taken apart only about five years ago by the son of the landlord who had envisioned renovating the whole upstairs into an apartment for himself. He tore down some walls and quit. ☹️

Very cool building. In dire need of repair. Juwel in the rough.

My Grandparents on my Mom's side both died by time I was about 10 but I remember their house had some free standing heater/furnaces that vented into the wall like that.......I'm under the assumption theirs was fuel oil but maybe gas, I imagine they made both. So probably not a wood stove but an oil or gas heater is what the chimney holes were for.

That sounds better than a wood or coal fired stove as I saw no evidence of anything on the floor below the vent holes to suggest ash or coals ever spent much time on the floor.

It is very strange how these old buildings just don’t get refurbished and kept up to date. If you alright own such a building. I think we certainly would have refurbished it and made use of it. Somehow it must’ve stayed empty for years and years and years. wow war an abuse of a building Considering the price of property these days Very interesting tour. It’s nice to see how you live the other side of the pond
