DISCLAIMER: Please refrain from making uneducated assumptions about an individual's diagnosis. You are allowed to express concern of whether you believe someone is faking or not, however, please refrain from leaving harmful comments regarding them. Autism is a spectrum. Everyone is different and exhibits different traits. You may or may not relate to these individuals and that is fine but do not assume that because you have traits that differ from them, they are not autistic! If an individual is proven to be faking or they have a negative reputation in the community, please feel free to respond to this post or private message me on my socials!
Also for clarification: Autism as well as any other neurodiversities represented in these videos are on a spectrum! Everyone is different! Do not use these videos as a means of diagnosing yourself or even questioning your diagnosis! Everyone will have different experiences and struggles! You are perfect the way you are and do not define yourself because a lot of autistic individuals don't like a food but you do, or you like wearing socks compared to those who don't! Be yourself and accept that we are all different!

Okay since my special interest is Frogs here are some facts I like.
    1. There is no exact life span of frogs but, ones who were given captivity or hospitality lasted to about 20 years
    2. The world's largest frog is the goliath frog of West Africa, and it can grow to 15 inches and weigh up to 7 pounds.
    3. Toads are frogs but all frogs aren’t toads, a toad is a frog that has a skin texture between watery and dry and toads legs are shorter.
    4. One of the smallest frogs is the Cuban tree toad, which grows to half an inch long.
    5. There are over 6,000 species of frogs.
    6. Frogs have amazing night vision.
    7. Frogs are very sensitive to movement.
    8. When a frog swallows food, it pulls its eyes down into the roof of its mouth, to help push the food down its throat.
    9. When frogs hibernate, they dig burrows in the ground or mud and hibernate until spring.
    10. Poisonous frogs are brightly colored to warn predators, while the Fort Randolph robber frog has very colorful skin even though their skin is not toxic. They do this to intimidate predators.
    That’s all baiii

I have made a realisation while watching this comp. I'm an opossum. I absolutely love climbing, and can climb just about anything, I love hanging upside down and just dangling there, I'm pretty much nocturnal (night ow mixed with insomnia.) And I can even see in the dark. (Aka I have enhanced vision in the dark due to light sensitivity combined with very light colored eyes.) And to top it all off, when i get stressed or overwhelmed, like when my brother grabs on to my arm or leg and won't let go no matter how much i ask, I smile. I'm not kidding, I smile when I'm stressed. I am just an autistic possum, buried in blankets and looking for a leftover bagel to eat.

Infodump about wolves cause I saw someone do it and feel comfortable about doing it as well :)
    1. Wolf packs are actually just families. A male or female wolf leaves the pack, finds a mate, has a litter with them and BAM new wolf pack
    2. On the subject of packs, the largest one was found in 2011 in Russia near a town named Verhoyansk and consisted of 400 wolves
    3. Do wolves really howl at the moon? We have no idea. No studies really gave us any answers, but it's most likely not true. Wolves use howling to communicate and mainly do so at dusk when they return from a hunt, which is why the myth sprouted
    4. The study of roles in wolf packs we know and still use like alpha, omega etc. is wrong. Like I wrote, packs are most of the time just families of wolves. The mother, the father, one to four kids and that's it. Offsprings follow and learn from their parents who automatically get the leading role because they're wiser and more skilled. The pair also doesn't fight for dominance. They work together
    5. Wolves have a shit ton of stamina. In one day, they're able to travel 400 km, or 200 miles if you use inperial system, though only if it's a one day thing. After that, they do have to rest. They're not all-powerful. But still, holy shit
    6. Wolves can be found on every continent, but a wolf evolved to survive in Africa won't be similar to a wolf evolved to survive in Asia. The only thing same about then would be DNA and a few body similarities, actually
    7. Wolves are playful fellas and if they aren't hungry, they often play with smaller preys like mice. Sometimes, they even let it go if they just wanted to play
I actually don't really know that much about them, I got all that from a presentation I had to do for school. But they have my heart since forever, I just don't show it by being a nerd :D

0:09 the fact that this is litteraly my parents lmfao
istg my dad def seems to have autism or ocd, he really doesn't like when things dont go his way and can be quite emotional which can end up with him being aggresive
silliest parts are when me and him are working on smtn like a lil school project and he casually does 90% of the thinng for me, making it hard for me to get my own take. kinda relatable, its not uncommon to find me being overly touchy and eaget to do things i wanna do, not realizing soon enough that im being too physically invasive (like grabbing things someone else is already taking)

1:19 I relate to this so hard! It feels like it takes muscles I don't have and insane amounts of energy to emote like a neurotypical person and I have no idea how they do it. Thankfully some of them will believe me when I say I'm just tired or not feeling well if it's a day I don't have the energy to mask, but it's still baffling on a good day that most people can just emote like crazy!

BRO MY MOM AND DAD ARE THE SAME (dad hates being late; mom has time blindness and overall shows signs of ADHD). I'm honestly curious if my dad has autism and my mom has ADHD; they both share respective traits, however, the only thing I've seen my dad doing related to stimming is wiggling his foot. He doesn't seem to have sensory issues like I do but it wouldn't surprise me if he's somewhere on the spectrum, because I had to get it from somewhere and if my mom has ADHD, it would also make more sense as to why I'm neurodivergent

something i dont see get talked about enough is that, im sitting or laying somewhere comfortably, not really paying attention to the position im assuming and im comfortable like that and dont really want to move from that position, but when something or someone, for example, a person comes to lay or sit with me, and they like, put their legs onto mine or anyother position where i shouldnt move because they are now ontop or next to me, i feel the need to move because i feel "caged" as in i shouldnt move but now that i know that i shouldnt move, i want to move even if that position is comfortable but it no longer is because now it feels like an 'have to'. Or when im comfortable in a position but suddendly become self aware of the position and want to change it because im self aware and now uncomfortable.

Regarding interoception, does anyone else struggle with feeling hungry? Like I just don't feel it? Sometimes the only way I know I need to eat is from feeling light-headed or insatiably thirsty.
Sometimes I go 1-2 days without a full meal (I don't wanna count snacks) because in my mind "if I don't FEEL hungry, I don't need to eat". I'm trying to work on healthy eating, and eating more fruit, but it's weirdly hard because I just often don't feel like eating.

Okay,... I am autistic so I enjoyed that device you spun for us autistic people to watch. But maybe it's the ADHD part of me, but as soon as I saw how and why it worked, I soon became bored and lost interest then wanted more stimulation from something else.

I have a problem with the idea of "You see us as high functioning, but we are not; high functioning doesn’t exist"
It's the same logic as "There’s a lot of things called berries that aren't berries, therefore berries don't exist"
But berries do exist, just not where we look for them, and the same is likely true for actuallt high functioning autistics.

    • @promisemochi
      @promisemochi ปีที่แล้ว

i think this problem is it's hard to identify what high functioning looks like. i saw a woman describe it as this. she goes to work. she's successful. she holds her job down well and is social at the office. but when she comes home, she can barely feed herself. she has no energy to cook. she cries and has a meltdown. she can't keep up with the housework. but to everyone in her life, she's "high functioning." she's praised for being "high functioning" and when she has asked for help in the past, she'd told "oh you don't really need help, you're managing just fine!" it's hard to pin-point because yeah someone might look high functioning, but that's simply based on outwards things.

    • @younscrafter7372
      @younscrafter7372 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

What you are describing is high masking, but high functioning, as in low support needs, is totally a thing
