    It’s like a little church in Europe. In a little village. Love it.

    I once attended a concert at the Nease house which was truly unplugged--no sound reinforcement, just natural sounds.

    0:24 I frequently travel through that area (especially during the Antique fairs in the Spring and Fall). I have photographed the Korean War vintage MiG15 numerous times over the years.

    Check into train museums. Many towns in Texas thrived or not because of the railroad. Those who had rail service for any length of time often have some sort of "museum" to document those times.

      I come across many train museums so far in the episodes I've uploaded, but they've all been closed and they have the oddest business hours of all time.

      @@ThisSmallTown In small towns, the person who "manages" things like train museums is often someone who does it on their schedule. Even businesses may open when someone is available to run them or they are more assured of having business. There is usually a number you can call or text to set up an appointment.
      For the historic sites, there is usually a docent you can contact to meet you and show you around. If you do go to Independence, you will want to do that if you want to go into the historic buildings. The Baptist Museum is usually open during the week and he can help you contact someone to show you other places.

    The Houston Train Museum is in the process of trying to find land to move their trains to. The car in Warrenton may be one of the cars waiting for a place to go.
    And you should have shown the sign you passed from behind.

    I think Warrenton has more big open spaces for vendors than Round Top because it started in Warrenton.

    • @ThisSmallTown
      @ThisSmallTown  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That makes sense. Just seems like the town is deserted now.

      @@ThisSmallTown I think Warrenton is more cowtown and Round Top is Bourgeois, nou-veau riche. The money in Round Top is coming from California and other places.

      The Chicken Ranch Remnants are outside of LaGrange not in Warrenton. ZZTop made a song for LaGrange. This is just one of the vendors for Antiques weeks properties. It has booth tents and then some stuff inside the house that sits on the property. They real Chicken Ranch doesn't have much left to it. Some of the original buildings were moved up to Dallas after the brothel was shut down.

    Do you go to towns that actually got real ghost towns?

    • @ThisSmallTown
      @ThisSmallTown  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      "real ghost" towns you'll find are no longer there or only a market or two or maybe a graveyard remain. So, it's not really entertaining to film a cow field and say what use to be here. Don't get to caught up on my titles, but rather just enjoy watching my adventures to places I've never been.
