Someone who gets into getting as messy as me.LOL love this video! Going to get messy now myself but just making paste with flour and water and salt..safest when you are doing anything with an 8 year old LOL...she loves arts & crafts like Mommy and especially the getting messy part!
Glad to see that you're doing it the right way. Most sites will show using strips of paper. The way i learned was the way you're doing it. The Pope's hat is paper mache. The only thing light enough for him to wear. Objects came for the orient that were paper mache lacquered to a beautiful finish. Europeans were astonished and tried to duplicate the beauty. Good work....carry on.......s PS. the music is great!
@mrketon I draw figures in hard paper and then I put this mache on the drawing.I let it dy (may take several days) and then I remove it from the paper..You can put colors to it considering what you make.
Thanks for the recipe. I mighty be a wee bit nervous using electricity near all that water. I suppose it's the only way you can mash it up - or is there a safer, more primitive method?
heres something i did using paper mache, check my other vids too for other sculpture's ive done using paper mache th-cam.com/video/zYEiqUwFvMs/w-d-xo.html
skip the mixing part. just go down and get blow-in insulation at home depot for $9. Would save time.... Unless you have alot of newspaper. But for those that dont have a big drill and mixer it would work.
You can use a wireframe, You can use polystyrene forms, that you can shape with a sharp knife and sanding paper, or polyurethane foam. I dry these forms in the oven at 100 degrees centigrade. When they are dry, you heighten the temperature to 125. Then, nice trick, the foam starts to shrink and gets loose from the paper maché and you can easily remove it. I will put a link as an example in the description of the video.

+bistiknaw Hi. I was wondering that too and didn't feel like scrolling through the comments. According to google translate "een heel pakje" is "a whole package" and "behangplaksel" is wallpaper paste; "een uur wachten" is "wait an hour"; and "klaar"--"ready". I searched for wallpaper powder online and found a few options. I've never made this, but have seen fine art paper mache work done with pulp rather than clay.
if u want to make like that, try using a small version but also do the things that are did there but should use blender then sieve(?) to remove water then use Decorative PIV
ritesh jain ritesh jain 2 anos atrás what is the powder that u added? can u please provide it's English name? 2 Wendy Hartogsveld Wendy Hartogsveld 2 anos atrás its wall paper glue powder but you can use the liquid wall paper glue too😉
Fun! Would love to see some projects from the clay. Also, what's the shelf-life before it sets (can I make it and keep it a couple of months for the kids to work with?) Finally, should it be worked with layering, so it can dry inbetween? So it doesn't mold/mildew internally? Danke!!
Spark S[park Yes. I was wondering about that too. I am wondering , if you let it dry really hard, could you sandpaper it smooth? I can't see why not. This other recipe is smoother for more delicate work, I think:- th-cam.com/video/onmIiQVQxaU/w-d-xo.html
Make mine kind of that way but I just soak mine in boiling water and mash by hand (literally with my hands) till it turns to pulp haha I'm trying to dry mine out though so I can just rehydrate it when needed but its COOLD here so its alittle difficult haha
I love papaer mache art, but last time I start to think about : Is that good for health? I'm asking seriously, because on every cartridge is description, that print ink is extremely danger for water animals and water life,so it should be recycled in a special way. Now, if we put news paper to the water, print dissolve, and water will be... like toxic. So now I'm thinking it is good for our health and environment ? Maybe it should be prepared some other way?
I am making this almost every summer since i am a little kid but i don't have a ny idea what to do with this paper mache.it is not easily shapable.only thing you can do is a sphere or a cube.Any ideas?
You can try and make cosplay costumes and swords And sell them online. That's what I'm planning on doing. Pretty sure people will buy them if they're in a fandom Try Percy Jackson Series and Harry Potter and maybe Hunger Games

If you do this with smaller torn pieces of newsprint in smaller batches, you can use an immersion blender. It cuts into materials well.
the powder is perfax wallpaper adhesive
This is 100% old school. Brings back memories.
Wow the recipe looks brilliant to use, ten out of ten of your job making this dude 👍
Wow, I had noooo idea it was such a hard work to do papier maché!

enjoyed video, but not sure what powder was you sprinkled in mixture.
what do you make out of the mache? are your works online? website? thanks
I also use junk mail and misprinted paper from the computer. When the new phone books come in, I add the old ones.
Any1 notice bug at 0:49
Use A4 sized papers so we get white coloured beautiful mache and not dark colour
Muy didáctico y práctico, felicitaciones.

Recycling is super! But what we can use this ? For example can we do a sculpture ?

It would be interesting to see how wood shavings work in papier mache.
If ur seeing this in 2021 ur a legend
Very nice
Care these water proof and what do you use to finish it off?
Any ideas on how to achieve this without using a shredding device? i.e. using very primitive, basic tools.
A kitchen blender and water. More water than paper, and it shreds it perfect. You just have to do it in lots of small batches.
Hoi Theo

you can store it for a long time (weeks) as long as there is no glue added. best place is the refrigerator.

In South India, the Craftsmen use re-powdered Plaster of Paris molds to bring pliability to the clay. It gives more ease to the making.
