The Robot Devil being programmed for evil thereby sets parameters for evil. That means there's limitations on what the Robot Devil will do. Bender has no such programming hindrance.

When I first saw this I was laughing for 5 minutes straight, this is dark humor done well, much better then shows like family guy or mr pickles. This is honestly one of my favourite jokes in the show

When I think of the most hilarious futurama moments, this is always up there. Bender doesn’t just hand him over. He dropkicks him through a window and into a lava pit, causing a massive explosion. This and “Friends! Help! A guinea pig tricked me!”
I like to imagine that Robot devil loved and raised benders son like his own and became a demonic killing machine that eventually sought vengence on bender. It wouldn’t be out of character for RD since hes clearly NOT the most evil robot
