    About Rick and Morty:
Rick and Morty is Adult Swim's most scientifically accurate animated comedy. Created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, it catalogues the bizarre misadventures of a bored scientific genius/drunkard and his socially awkward grandson, Morty. Their exploits tend to have unintended consequences for Morty's dysfunctional family, especially his unfailingly mediocre father, Jerry. Watch Rick and Morty battle everything from interdimensional customs agents to Cronenberg monsters now, only at AdultSwim.com.

At the end the judge says 'I know everybody in the courtroom has (enjoyed this)'
I bet there was a lot of laughter.
The judge had tunnel vision and then I think that was the moment he realized
      he himself was in teouble.

Denver Fenton Allen is a 33yo man, when he was in jail, he murdered his inmate. He was set for trial in June 2016, where this exchange took place. A while later, he was sentenced to life without parole. The transcript for his trial was discovered by someone working on Rick and Morty, resulting in this.

Well if the attorney refused to give him the info, and sexually harassed him, and the judge acted like this....This wasn't a fair trial, and whether he did it or not, he needs to be retried. This is enough for me to say there's doubt. Even if he lied, the judge still gave him an unfair trial, and was biased against him because of their interaction. Also the judge knew the lawyer personally.

(E.g., if a guy gets stabbed to death locked in a cell with one other person, cause of death is pretty obvious.) I kinda doubt the attorney sexually harassed the defendant. This wasn't a trial, it was a hearing. (The defendant later pleaded guilty before a different judge - there was no trial - and was sentenced to life without parole.) The judge recused himself from this case immediately. And, judges often know lawyers well, maybe even personally. Especially in smaller towns. Heck, I've appeared before a judge who used to be an attorney at my old firm. There's nothing inherently improper there.

DA dropped the charges pretty quickly after the info leaked. It never even made it to a judges desk. DA said "significant new information came to light", which makes it sound like there was the potential for a counter-suit if a trial revealed if or how the info was purposefully leaked. Definitely would've been easy to prove damages to financial standings and reputation if that were the case. So basically it's an open question of what happened.

There would have been another hearing for the murder after that. They cannot charge you straight away for a murder without an investigation which was still under way at the time. This is why the judge was unaware there was also a murder, her killed the guy 5 days into jail, a couple of days later he went to see the judge for his original charge.
