As a Brit who has never been to Australia I think you should be sponsored by the Aussie tourist board, I'm ready to pack my bags and get over there after watching the last few videos.
I was seriously going to say the exact same thing! I am in America and it has always been my dream to go to Australia - this is next best thing! Thanks Max, love you and Occy.
Love your videos Max! As a UK based Aussie, I watch your travels with an aching heart wishing I was there! BTW my sister in law was the lead designer on Monopoly Deal at Hasbro here in the UK. We played several early prototypes of the game as she developed it! We love it too!
There is a beautiful melancholy to your videos, Max, and I don't mean that they are sad, but more that they are deeply meaningful and thoughtful with quiet joy mixed in. Thank you.
Max I’m from the USA and I honestly love watching you’re videos❤️❤️. I’m a big fan of you. I’ve been watching emon and bec then I started watching you y’all are incredible people I would love it if y’all ever came out the USA
Yes, melancholy is a great word for them! The videos are put together so beautifully and with love. The connections with your human and animal friends are so delightful and warm ❤❤❤
I love your editing. Im 55 and was in Sydney Australia in 1993. We traveled all over for the month we were there. Pebbly Beach, Jenolan Caves, and rented a house boat were on the water during a thunderstorm. I never thought I"d go back. But your videos make me want to. As a child I always wanted to go to Australia. I never had a desire to go anywhere else. I believe that in a past life that I lived in Australia. I manifested my free trip to Sydney. My boyfriend dad retired from the Navy. He got a job in Sydney and we visited for Christmas. I was 23. ❤
I'm so glad to see your comment, so well said and knowing it's not just me. I had an actual tear rolling down my cheek at one point in today's video. Max is a dear, dear man and something very special about his videos.
@@amstergal Athough goodbyes are hard, it makes the hello's that much better and I am sure he will see them via phone conversations just like the Vanwives, and Eamon and Bec....(they always stay in touch), and when Max has his land purchased, plans made, and ground broken, we will see them all again together ( YOU can count on that) and the odd monopoly shenigans...lol
I have the same emotions and I think it is because Max shows joy in life but also there is a deep sadness within him. He is such a lovely man and I know he will find happiness again in his personal life.
Mummy Tip: Run the lid of the jar under hot water and it will open right up for you... no muscles damaged in the making of this tip! Love you video's and I am sad for you to be parting ways with your mates... Good to have you coming back to the East though.. Cheers for sharing Max...
Max & Occy I have been watching your videos for years and dream of going to Australia. 🌏✨The majestic nature of Australia that you showed me is wonderful and I yearn for it.🌅🏄♀🏜🚙With love from Japan🌸 to Max & Occy🐕🧔🫶
L. U. V. . . . 'You' Mr. Max are just *pure love* allll that know you are so blessed. Thank u for making me ball my face 'off. When I lived in OZ I toured everything except Darwin and Taz....Western OZ is 4ever within my heart of hearts and I have guided many a person whom have travelled Downunder to spend immense time there. New Zld and West. OZ are the 2 places I would leave Canada for in a heartbeat.
Hello from the Canadian prairies. I found your vlog from Eamon & Bec. You might enjoy Wild We Roam. They are currently building off-grid in upstate New York, but have lived and vlogged off-grid in Hawaii, refurbished a boat and lived on the ocean, built-out a van and lived in it while they travelled Europe. They're lovely, positive, creative people. There are so many ways to live more intentionally. Enjoying yours while our Cohousing project is under construction and our community gains strength with every obstacle and success. I really appreciate your sharing your life with us. Thank you!
Another wonderful video :) Forget struggling to open a jar in future - you need to get yourself a Jarkey jar opener. Simple little utensil that most kitchen shops should sell. Absolute game changer!
To avoid murdering the lid of a bottle you can’t open, use the back of a spoon and slide it around the lip of the bottle lifting the lid just enough to break the seal. Lid should then twist right off. Hope this hack helps! Beautiful video and wonderful storytelling
The music you use puts me in such a happy place, just want to be out in the sun traveling on a beautiful day, loving life. 🥲🥲🥲Can't wait to see where you find your homestead❤
You're right about the ocean... it has a magical ability to connect us to a higher power that enables the trials and tribulations of the day to evaporate away... you're very fortunate to be in such close proximity so often... and to be able to share that with the Occymeister!
We love your videos and have been your subscribers since the beginning of your work. You have gone through many trials and tribulations, but you are getting even stronger. Your videos, drone work and touching stories keep us watching. We live near the Van-wives in Nova Scotia and were happy you had a chance to visit our part of the world. We look forward to watching your next chapter of building off grid and planting roots to call home. All the best and keep up the great work. Thank you , Dave and Seely Canada
Hearing Annie’s from Geelong had me in my feels. My first major crush was from Geelong, in the USA visiting family. I still have the ticket stubs from the movies we went to. Ugh…. Still the one that got away 💔🤟🏽 Maybe time for a visit ❤️✌🏽
You will always have wanderlust but having a home base will feel good. A video too late but I love Wild Wonderful Off-Grid. It is amazing what they have done with their homestead. They are building their forever home for their family of five so their project is likely much bigger than what you will start with, but they are such a lovely couple! They have worked hard to create a beautiful home and farm.
Thanks for taking me on a virtual adventure with you and Occy Max. I so enjoy all of your videos. Stay safe on all your travels. PS. Occy is so laid back and so Aussie its not funny. lol 🤗🙏
Earlier, I saw your video on finding out your offer was accepted on the rain forest property. Lovely! THEN, I saw this headline of, ‘Saying Goodbye’. My heart sank because I honestly thought this was going to be about you loosing Occy. SO glad that is not the case!
Thankyou for showing us more of the Aussie places along your way. Great you are gf acing an awesome time as we do when watching your videos. The water is a great time out healer and cleanser.
Hi, next time you want to open a bottle with a vacuum lid ,use a bottle opener, or can opener with a bottle opener on the end & gently lift ,the vacuum will pop & then you can unscrew it without damaging the lid for reuse. Great video too! Thank you Max & Occy.
What a pleasant surprise to get another video from you so soon after the last. You’re doing great Max. Feeling all your feels. Making plans, soaking in memories. So proud of you stranger friend.
I know this was awhile back. Occy must’ve missed you soooooooo much. Dogs are only with us for such a short time. I hope Occy can stay with you until you come back to Australia. He is over the moon to see you.
Amazing life you guys live. Green with envy! The next time you are battling with a jar, take a dinner knife and whack the side of the lid, making a bit of a dent. I just want to say that I promise you, that even Jess will open it with her moisturised hands. Beauty is your lid doesn't have a hole in it, and it will still seal!
For all of us who have been here the last few years , me getting stuck and old in Mexico for covid , it seems it is time to move on , good luck Max Hopefully I WILL BE WATCHING FROM SOMEWHERE ELSE !! HUGS. onwardddddddd>>>
Australia sure is beautiful! I wish it weren't so far from the US. But who knows, maybe someday. Spend time on your property living in the van to discover the weather patterns to pick the best location for your house. Obviously you want that northern exposure for the winter sun. Occy needs gentler slopes to climb. His hips are feeling their age. The food looked delicious! It always makes me happy to see so many van/rv travelers eating so healthily and sustainably. Seeing dogs happy to see each other makes me smile. Something I missed with my Akita. At least she didn't try to eat them up. Have many more safe and joyful travels. 💚
Looks an amazing place. Now definitely on my bucket list. Btw, to open a stubborn jar, use a bottle opener to release the pressure... You don't need to stab it!!! You welcome. 😉
I live and travel in a camper. I have met some of the best people I've ever known. Stayed a year in one place because a couple I met there. When you meet your tribe you feel it
Aww empty nesting with the Occ. Goodbyes are so hard for me! Even when I know I'll see them again it yanks at my heart. It's one of the many reasons why I always wanted a giant piece of land, so all of my friends, family, cool strangers, could come and visit or stay. With enough land we could all live right down the road from each other, and everyone would still have their space, their world, their peace, their privacy. I've got 3 acres now, not enough for the big end-game dream quite yet, but it's a start. I can't wait to see your new start! Don't feel rushed. Meditate on your perfect place and it will show up for you too xo
We have the same mindset Rixanne! That’s the absolute dream 🙌🏼 and thank you so much for your recommendation with Homestead Rescue, I’m about a quarter in and loving it. So helpful! 💛
It was so good to see your video again. I always look forward to it.I love this road travel the views are STUNNING! Just magical it's like you want to be there right now and not come home. I admit I got a little teary for you saying goodbye to your friends. I'm sure you'll see them all again. Looking forward to your next video. Of all the off grid folks I watch, the simplest is Bush Radical and the most elaborate is Tyler and Todd, who are also good friends with your pals, the Van Wives. They have the most posh of layouts. Quite impressive.
Another amazing video Max. I'm sure gonna miss your travel vlogs, although I am looking forward to watching you build your off-grid house. It's also great to see you doing so well and finding your spark again. Keep using the drone, it's amazing footage! Love to you and the beautiful Occy.
If you want to open a tight twist top jar in the future, just put a knife underneath the lid on the side and twist the knife and it will break the seal and easily remove it off.
As a nearly from the real beginning follower.. You(s) opened the door to van life for me, fitting you should close it .. peace just peace, find it, hold it and pet the woowoo
I love watching your video with beautiful Occy. You are truly a beautiful man & a real one. You aren’t afraid to express your emotions. Love your adventures… keep up the great job Max & Occy ♥️
Good grief...I don't know you, I don't know Sam and Jess...so why the heck did I get a lump in my throat and my eyes get misty as you were saying good bye? You are a jewel of a human Max.
Hello Max and Occy. I will continue to pray for your new road journey, and please continue to be safe and careful and keep everyone informed of your where about’s please , I know myself I would love for you to keep close in touch. Love you guy’s dearly. I also pray that you guy’s continue to be surrounded with beautiful friends. God Bless love’s.🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️❤️❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️❤️❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
‘Parting is such sweet sorrow’ , I’m sure you’ll see them soon, perhaps they could come and help with your build? If you are buying in the rainforest, a water source (creek, river, billabong) would be great or you could create your own through permaculture land swales❤️✨
To open jars , under the lid is a tiny lip , if you put a teaspoon under the lip , & Twist , it releases the air , the top comes of very easy , with out putting holes in the lid .
Hi, Max and Occy. Wishing you find the right place where you can nurture the land and the land can nurture you as you build your off grid home. For plenty of helpful information and resources on off grid homes and more, I would suggest contacting New Zealander, Bryce Langston, and seeing the many useful videos at his TH-cam channel, “Living Big in a Tiny House”. Perhaps he would even want to film your build for one of his videos or at least point you to helpful resources to use in your off grid build. Wishing you and Occy a wonderful year. D.Arnold, US
"Parting is such sweet sorrow." A line from Romeo and Juliet. Saying a sorrowful goodbye is also "sweet" because it makes you think about the next time you'll see eachother. I'm looking forward to seeing your next chapter.
This is just beautiful. Everything about it. I know what you mean about jumping in the ocean...It's almost like God made it for our healing, replenishment and there really aren't words to describe it. You'll see your friends again...and when you do, it'll be a blast! Safe travels and happy trails! 🛣️
Thanks for sharing the awesome beauty of our vast country. I have wanted to cross the Nullarbor for many years and go caving there, but my ME/CFS has prevented me from fulfilling that dream. It has been wonderful to see those parts of Australia from your perspective. The drone footage over the Bight was mind-blowing! Thanks Max!
Max you are such an inspiration to me. Since subscribing last year i have been motivated to travel around this beautiful country of ours and i must say I am obsessed with the Great Australian Bight! I have 12 weeks off work from the end of May and will be driving 2742km straight to the Head of the Bight, then to wherever the wind blows me. I can't wait. 121 days to go... Thank you for sharing your life and travels and wisdoms. You have a lot to offer this world and it is gratefully received.
The main resource most TH-camrs need for offgrid homesteading seems to be lots of money. The cost of the land. Yikes! And the electrical system alone. Holy moly!
Australia has the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. If I can't go see it when I'm here on Earth. I will definitely go when I get to heaven! I have enjoyed this video so much. I am definitely looking forward to 2023. You have some wonderful friends. I know they will miss y'all. Hug sweet occy for me he is something else! I enjoyed this video see y'all in the next one
Next time hit to top sided of the bottle on a countertop goin around the entire edge, this moves the air pressure and the top will release afterwards. 😊
Love your Vlogs. Thank You for sharing. FYI, an easy way to open jars. Turn jar upside down and carefully slip a dinner knife between the lid and the glass. Slowly pull knife outward towards you and you should hear a small pop. You have broken the seal and now turn over and open the jar and enjoy. Very easy! Best of luck to you.
As a Brit who has never been to Australia I think you should be sponsored by the Aussie tourist board, I'm ready to pack my bags and get over there after watching the last few videos.

Couldn't agree more as a fellow Brit 👍
Send them an email 😅 Really appreciate that Jo! Would love to do some work for tourism Australia one day 🙌🏼💛
I came on to say the same thing! Australia Tourism needs to pay you Max!
Same here! 👍🏴🇬🇧

I'm 65, in Texas and haven't traveled in years. Thank you for taking me along on this virtual journey.
Come up Europe I'll show you around😊
I don’t know what it is about Max’s videos but I always feel overwhelming joy or empty sadness and oftentimes both at the same time
right?!?!
Definitely lots of emotions here too!

Goodbye are always hard! I felt this one for you Max.
Looking forward to seeing what’s in store for you ❤
Always. And so much more frequent when you’re on the road. Always worth it for the connection 💛💛
Saw your 2023 goals on insta. *Hug* Those of us who know depression see your brave climb. You are a beautiful person.
@Australia you need to pay Max (and Occy in treats) for showing off your beautiful country!
Another wonderful video :) Forget struggling to open a jar in future - you need to get yourself a Jarkey jar opener. Simple little utensil that most kitchen shops should sell. Absolute game changer!
Open any jar by knocking the lid against the bench top until the seal pops. The cliffs of the Bight are magnificent, love the drone footage.
If you wedge a spoon under the lid of your jar, the seal will pop, and the jar will open with ease.

Hey Max and Oc of course, A great complete off grid power source solution is "red earth". These guys build an awesome range.
cheers

Hearing Annie’s from Geelong had me in my feels. My first major crush was from Geelong, in the USA visiting family. I still have the ticket stubs from the movies we went to. Ugh…. Still the one that got away 💔🤟🏽 Maybe time for a visit ❤️✌🏽
I’m just waiting for Occy to say something….🤔
He looks so wise 😊
Me too. 12 damn years and still nothing. He’s really building the suspense 💛
You will always have wanderlust but having a home base will feel good. A video too late but I love Wild Wonderful Off-Grid. It is amazing what they have done with their homestead. With good friends it's never "goodbye" ... it's "until the next time." Thank you for another beautiful video. peace
Earlier, I saw your video on finding out your offer was accepted on the rain forest property. Lovely! THEN, I saw this headline of, ‘Saying Goodbye’. My heart sank because I honestly thought this was going to be about you loosing Occy. SO glad that is not the case!
Just a tip, next yar that you cant open use a fork or knifer and bend the edge of the lid so you let some air in then you can twist it open :D
Thankyou for showing us more of the Aussie places along your way. Great you are gf acing an awesome time as we do when watching your videos.
The water is a great time out healer and cleanser.
New jar to open? Take a can opener and turn it upside down. Put it under the rim and pop the seal. Opens easy like it’s been open before.
Sam & Jess are lovely.... One of your best vids 💗 all roads lead home.....😉💗 its never goodbye, its 'see ya later'
You just took me to a place I'll never see in real life. Thank you. How incredible.
You say, "Goodbye" and I say, "Hello, hello, hello"
i needed this video today Mate, appreciate you!
He lives!! Happy to deliver matey, appreciate you too!
Hi, next time you want to open a bottle with a vacuum lid ,use a bottle opener, or can opener with a bottle opener on the end & gently lift ,the vacuum will pop & then you can unscrew it without damaging the lid for reuse. Great video too! Thank you Max & Occy.
Just caught myself in the mirror … smiling at the screen. Thanks 🙏
Little tip, just tap the top of the jar with a spoon if it's stuck. Then you can usually undo it. 🙂
What a pleasant surprise to get another video from you so soon after the last. You’re doing great Max. Feeling all your feels. Making plans, soaking in memories. So proud of you stranger friend.
Absolutely I root so hard for Max. You deserve nothing less than everything buddy!
Thank you both 🥲💛💛
He really is a wonderful stranger friend :)
Awesome scenery. By the way, a hint, a rounded tip knife/butter knife under the lip and twist until jar pops. 😉

Hey Max, to break seals on jars you put the knife under the lid between the lid and the glass and lever open. Your welcome lol
Thanks Max!
Feel great video. Thanks Max. Wishing you all beauty in your life. I am looking forward to the home search. Hi Occy❤
I notice your beautiful Occy is slowing down on those beach walks. Blessed boy, rest up xx
The sweetness of life. Oi, your poor nose! God speed, Max ❤
Great video as always. So nice to see the sun and the amazing blue water Jane from Barrie 🇨🇦
Beautiful life beautiful friendships beautiful places 😢❤😊
I really hope you see this. You really inspire me, I'm Nigerian and I hope to someday live this kind of lifestyle
The main resource most TH-camrs need for offgrid homesteading seems to be lots of money. The cost of the land. Yikes! And the electrical system alone. Holy moly!
Max, I found if you jar is hard to twist open, turn jar upside down on counter. Hit on the counter top 1 time. Should open for you. It works for me.
Your photography is amazing broo!
Can't wait to see it adapted to your next chapter 💚✌️
Also if you’re lonely and need to talk - I am too. Just a BC girl reaching out to an AU boy. 😊
always hard to see bye to good friends, specaly wen you dont know for how long. but you share a qualety time. and good memorys. thets way we life.
Bang the side of the lid with jars to release the suction that is holding the lid on.
Absolutely love watching your videos, and enjoying the journey…leaves me with a feeling of peace, thank you
OMG! That meal looks divine!!!! YUM!
Another absolutely beautiful video. Thanks, Max.
@13:59, that sand looks like granulated Champagne!
Discovered your channel today & love it! Tip re opening the jar, tap the lid on the floor, it should just pop straight off.
As always Max a heartfelt video, take care!
