I'm malayalee, but my family is in tamilnadu from my childhood, i met with serious problem in my life, we went to my relatives house in kerala and casually we sent to chottanikkara temple my father knows all the story over there, i don't know about that, while seeing the devi i started crying thinking of my problems and i was trying to stop but i couldn't, my eyes are filled with tears i can't control my self. Chottanikkara was earlier known as Jyothiyanakkara. When Adi Shankaracharya prayed and invited Devi to his land, devi said I would follow you to your land but you should not look back behind and she would stop at the place where he looks back at her. And she followed.. Shankaracharya was sure that devi was following as he could hear the chilambu sound but after a while, he could not hear it anymore and he was prompted to look back of Devi was still following..and she was still following but as she said before, Devi sticked on to the condition to stay back at the place where shankara looked back at her and that became Mookambika. But the initial intention was to bring devi to Kerala where shankara was born. So he begged devi to come to Kerala, and she gave her Jyothi to shankara and said I will be present in this jyothi and you can do prathishta and aavahan with this jyothi power. After doing proper prathista and achara to the Mookambika devi, Shankara brought the jyothi to The place where the Current Chottanikkara is located. In fact mookambi devi also said him that she would only receive arathi after receiving it at chottanikkara, so the first temple to start the pooja is still chottanikkara. Only after opening it there would they give pooja to Mookambika devi. Regarding the raktha kulam, after killing the evil, she went in and bathed at the pool that already existed near the temple As she was covered in blood, the pool turned Red as blood and therefore the name. Devi was in the angriest form then and she sat near the pool with her udaval (sword). The man whom she saved was a brahmin and the evil was following him asking for help, but he realised and ran to temple. This brahmin who witnesses all these prayed and offered pooja to the devil. She now exists as keezhkavu bhagavathi. Kuruthi pooja during fridays are the special pooja here. There vibe during the pooja is something else and too divine. I've seen people affected by the energy and they go in the 'kalam' and dance.

Another interesting factor is that on Friday and other special festival days the temple opens at 3.30am..During these days the Udupi Mookambika Temple opens late due to the belief that the saraswati from Mookambika is present at Chottanikkara temple during that time.

I have gone to this temple and seen how they treat people with such concerns.. In live it will create goosebumps in real as the people who are silent before the pooja will be start dancing like a mad dancer with their rituals and the spl instrument they use. So there is something spl on this temple definitely even though not 100% it's ghost based still solutions are arrived for mind related Imbalance through the spiritual process is what I believe.

I am a regular visitor to chottanikkara temple for the past 10 years and regular viewer to your videos as well. For malayalees this temple is for knowledge blessings , small babies(Chorunnu) , wedding and many more. I have seen lot of visitors from tamilnadu...many tourist bus . Tamilnadu mainly .. patients having this mental instability (ghost related they say...i am not sure) used to come there and stay there attends pooja and happily returns. I think an image has been created that this temple is all for ghost and all ...its just one part of it....not only mind issues.......devi helps us for any thing and every thing....believe me you just feel such a positive vibe over there......which pulls me back to go there every week....but in youtube i have seen many vidoes that chottanikkara temple = ghost related temple....not sure why!!!

I live in chottanikkara, it's a very peaceful place, it is said that lots of people with mental illness get relief here. What astonished me here is that lot of people with these problems when they come inside temple they initially become very violent then after some time they become calm, this happens often, we are custom to watching it.
Sri Shankaracharya was a fine devotee of Devi, he possessed tapas for years in Mangalapuram present day Mangalore. Devi appears for this divine devotion, then Devi asks Sri Shankaracharya to wish. But Sri Shankaracharya wanted Devi to reside into an idol in his village present day chootanikara. As we know Devi loved that place Mangalore most! After killing Mahisaura Devi liked this place and stayed here from that day. All of the sudden Sri Shankaracharya is asking Devi to come along with him to his village and reside there! So Devi says I will be following you, the moment you turn back and see me I will reside there forever So Sri Shankaracharya starts walking towards Kerala! Then after little distance Devi removes the Pavusaram and walks. Sri Shankaracharya gets doubt as he couldn't hear the sound of Pavusaram.... And Sri Shankaracharya turns back! When he turns back he sees Devi following him He then understood his mistake of doubting on Devi and bows down! That's how Mookambika deity was resided and that's how Mookambika temple was formed! To fullfill the wish of Devi's devotee then Devi resided as an idol in Kerala which we now call it as Chootanikara! And there after many incidents happened and there are many stories and experience of various people in both Chootanikara and Mookambika.

I and my friends visited this Temple at 8pm last month as we went to Kerala for our college tour 🙏 It was really so shocked to see the people being possessed for some unknown power. I have gone to this temple and seen how they treat people with such concerns.. In live it will create goosebumps in real as the people who are silent before the pooja will be start dancing like a mad dancer with their rituals and the spl instrument they use. So there is something spl on this temple definitely even though not 100% it's ghost based still solutions are arrived for mind related Imbalance through the spiritual process is what I believe.
My Chitti got pocessed at first we were looking for pshychiatic solutions but gradually that started degrading her body and more weird behaviour, our family friend suggested the Temple. I am a regular visitor to chottanikkara temple for the past 10 years and regular viewer to your videos as well. For malayalees this temple is for knowledge blessings , small babies(Chorunnu) , wedding and many more. I have seen lot of visitors from tamilnadu...many tourist bus . Tamilnadu mainly .. patients having this mental instability (ghost related they say...i am not sure) used to come there and stay there attends pooja and happily returns. I think an image has been created that this temple is all for ghost and all ...its just one part of it....not only mind issues.......devi helps us for any thing and every thing....believe me you just feel such a positive vibe over there......which pulls me back to go there every week....but in youtube i have seen many vidoes that chottanikkara temple = ghost related temple....not sure why!!!

I'm visit chottanikara temple yearly once ....badhrakaali ooda special ye saving the bakthaas's from bad vibez..and there is 2 types of God like Mel kavil bhagavathi and keel kavil bhagavathi ...in Mel kavil 1st face on morning is moogambikai..by the story shanlarachariya and second face on afternoon and dhuraga Devi and third face at night chottanikara bhagavathi...after 8 0 clock keel kavil bhagavathi have a great pooja... there's a single face bhathrakali..who kills the bad vibzs....this is the great fact of that temple ...by visiting keel kavil ,pei pudichavangala swamy munnadi niruthuna anga irukura good vibzs avangala anga nikka vidamah pannum.. because of the power of Kali after that the Lord Kali saves the people's from bad vibzs and gives them blessings ..it also gives relaxment in mental pressure and. I live in chottanikkara, it's a very peaceful place, it is said that lots of people with mental illness get relief here. What astonished me here is that lot of people with these problems when they come inside temple they initially become very violent then after some time they become calm, this happens often, we are custom to watching it.

Sri Shankaracharya was a fine devotee of Devi, he possessed tapas for years in Mangalapuram present day Mangalore.
Devi appears for this divine devotion, then Devi asks Sri Shankaracharya to wish. But Sri Shankaracharya wanted Devi to reside into an idol in his village present day chootanikara.
As we know Devi loved that place Mangalore most! After killing Mahisaura Devi liked this place and stayed here from that day.
All of the sudden Sri Shankaracharya is asking Devi to come along with him to his village and reside there!
So Devi says I will be following you, the moment you turn back and see me I will reside there forever
So Sri Shankaracharya starts walking towards Kerala! Then after little distance Devi removes the Pavusaram and walks.
Sri Shankaracharya gets doubt as he couldn't hear the sound of Pavusaram.... And Sri Shankaracharya turns back!
When he turns back he sees Devi following him
He then understood his mistake of doubting on Devi and bows down!
That's how Mookambika deity was resided and that's how Mookambika temple was formed!
To fullfill the wish of Devi's devotee then Devi resided as an idol in Kerala which we now call it as Chootanikara!
And there after many incidents happened and there are many stories and experience of various people in both Chootanikara and Mookambika.

I and my friends visited this Temple at 8pm last month as we went to Kerala for our college tour 🙏 It was really so shocked to see the people being possessed for some unknown power. Photos and Video coverage is strictly prohibited inside the temple. Both Men and women even children got possessed 😥. I don't know whether to believe all the happenings we seen there. But anyways it was really different to see them.

Chottanikkara is located at thrippooni thara in kerala the temple has 2 parts Melkav and Keezhkavu. At Melkavu Goddess Lalithambika or Rajareshewari is worshipped in three forms
1.)Mahasaraswati
2.)Mahalakshmi
3.)Durga Bhagavathi (Goddess Shakthi)
At Keezhkavu
Goddess Bhadrakali is worshipped. The Goddess is said to be very fierce at Keezhkavu. Hence the badha will get removed.

I am from kerala and had once witnessed the rituals treating those people. Its really scary. People you thought as normal people near you would suddenly become violent as it begins. I have also heard that the nails on trees are beat with forehead by such people.
