Aly, please make videos, with women as your models, before-after, you change their style and show us real life examples 😊 much love for you ❤
Would be great!
Definitely!!!!
"I'm eagerly anticipating it."
just wanted to write this 🥰
Love how you call out vulgar! 😅
The greens in that blouse make you look so vibrant!
The bright green cowl neck sweater made me laugh out loud! 😉
Me too😂😂😂 That is one helluva cowl neck.. at first glance I thought it was a knitted blanket draped around her neck lmaooo😂😂🤣
Your style of open communication is so reassuring. I’m thrilled to see your subs growing. You deserve it, Ally.
I’m wondering where you find those pictures 😅😂. Thanks for all the pieces of advice 🙏
came to ask the very same question!
many older women in Eastern Europe dress like that for special occasions, I mostly saw those 'sexy' outfits in the past decades, less now thankfully. But for daytime some still make these fashion choices sadly
I've never seen women dressed like that where I live (Germany). That's rather russian "style" 😆
@@Flippingeryeah that's more eastern European style. But we all know that German women can also be tacky but in another way😅
It’s funny, you can tell they are from Eastern Europe, it must be a popular stylistic choice.
Please do a deep dive about jewelry... Especially fine everyday jewelry, are they too small for some body types ect...
I think bolder jewelry has already made a comeback. Not that smaller real gold and or diamonds isn't classic but it's okay to wear bolder jewelry again. Especially a woman that is my height and size can pull it off.
It's so great to finally see real women in your video, not touched up models and Hollywood. We need real examples. Thank you, Aly.
Yes, I second that. Most of us aren't super tall and skinny, so real life example of women with different figure types and sizes are much more useful.
Aly has such a lovely aura. The way she's explaining this is so helpful ❤
I really hope my photos don’t pop up in this video 😊
🤣🤣🤣
Would like to see a video on clothes that DON'T age you so we know what to shop for. You can do vidoes by body type - that would be helpful.
Before Aly makes the video (or video series hopefully) think: modesty and class. And the good news is you can make any style a more mature version if you make the base modest and style it to your desire.
What's different between a woman in her 20s and a woman in her 40s + is that you no longer have to own lots of new clothes to follow the trends. You know what suits you and you know what you like and therefore can invest in classic quality pieces that you can style to your liking. Quality is maturity in that sense. Something tailored to you, not a bad fitting of a mass produced item. We can leave all those Sheins and Temus to the younger women. We don't buy 10 new tops each year. We can buy 2 (one winter and one summer one, but good quality). If we buy a coat we buy it in the neutral that suits our undertone and makes our skin shine and the garment will last us at least a decade)
Regarding satin: i frequent the history bounding communities, and something that I’ve learned is that it’s the foundation underwear that makes the outfit. So you’d wear underclothes that smooth your lumps so that your outer garment sits smoothly on your human body. So if you find modern shapewear comfortable, you can wear modern satin slip dresses with your lumps smoothed out.
However, personally i find modern shapewear very constricting and I feel like a stuffed sausage in an elastic tube. I sewed my own Victorian corset (custom made is too expensive) and I was very comfortable and able to breathe properly (I don’t condone tightlacing). However, the modern satin slip dress look won’t work with the corset because it will show the boning and top ridge. But on the other hand, if you look at historical Western fashion of satin gowns designed to sit on corseted body, they look very elegant and they suit every age and every body. So if you like a particular fabric, you just have to find the right fashion era that would compliment your body and work with your unique body intricacies and sensitivities.
(Edit: something to remember about all the satin red carpet gown looks is that the dresses have built in corsets. Those are not celebrities’ bodies in their natural form. Their lumps have been smoothed out.)
I couldn't agree more on corsets being much more comfortable than modern shapewear. Feeling like a sausage is so true 😂
I do feel for these women because in the U.S. a lot of the stores for older women have closed down. So they have to shop at younger stores which sell nothing but too tight too short clothing. A lot of it boils down to where one has access to buy clothes. These women likely wear these things because that’s what they have in their area and it’s what they can afford.
That’s for sure… our only hope is thrift stores which still carry our size.😮
I love how you described each thing that looks aging but also suggested ways to make them fashionable and work for those of us who love them❤️
Too short or too tight only is sexy on sporty, good shaped and/ or young people. The mistake is, to have this in mind and to think, it's the tight fit that is sexy. But it's the body, sorry! The older we get, the more important is an excellent cut and a good fabric for looking put together or even expensive. Unfortunatly to wrap up in tight clothes is a sign of a lack of taste!
I'm sorry but it's never sexy at any age
Too short and too tight is NEVER attractive, no matter your age. Always wear well fitting clothes. Better to go up one size than to look like you're bursting out of your clothes!
Not everybody prefers the sporty figure, „good“ shape is in the behold of the individual. However, I agree to leaving nothing to the imagination is never sexy.
At 69 years, I LOVE this video! You get the point across so much better than mature women on Social Media do!
I agree with everything you say.
Now excuse me while I go to your makeup video!❤
I am throwing out the cute spring tunic I happen to be wearing right now as I watch this video! It has little sparkly fireworks around the neck.
Can’t you wear it at night? A late evening at a patio dinner or party? Watch the fireworks during one of your national spring/summer holidays?
@@hotjanuary I like these ideas. I think we're so quick to get rid of stuff. But nothing is better than shopping your own closet and trying to style things we already have in a different way
I can't stop laughing! Where do you find these pictures?
As I enter middle age, so helpful, thank you Aly. & I thought one of these women was my aunt with too much chest displayed, I had to pause the video to make sure it wasn't her. It wasn't, I don't need to have words next time I see her now 😅
The photos look like they come from a Russian dating site. 😆
I thought the same thing... 🙈
@@vivimaria7243 🤣
From the 80's 😂
Those carpets on the walls are a big giveaway XD
😂😂😂... If you wander, we from Eastern Europe never thought that women from US have good taste. Sorry...
Great job! Please add shoes that make you older to this collection. Thank you :)
Thanks for this video! I am 43-years-old and a soft gamine. In my 20s and early 30s, I loved the girlish “spitfire chic,” but I want to look more elegant now. I’d love a video on mature style for the body types.
Before I was not interested in fashion and style, but now I realize that it is much more and it is for the rest of life, it is pleasant to find channels like that, thank you very much. If I become old, I want to become old and fabulous 😜
You have spurred me into getting rid of some things that I have been holding onto, but not wearing, for far too long. Now I know why I was not wearing them.
I agree with most of what you said, but I actually really like the brown cowl neck photo 😂
I love this content and I really appreciate the effort you put in your videos. As a woman of 59, I want to look my best. Thank you for the advice
Please show apple shape women and how they should dress so they don’t look older. Thank you!
Just found your You Tube channel. LOVE your honest and respectful approach to these topics.
I am on a long term quest to find a leopard print item made with natural materials that looks classy on me! I do mostly thrift shopping. I found a wonderful silk dress a few weeks ago that was so well made and modest, very classy, but it was a little too small. It will be a fun treasure when I discover the right piece. ( I’m 47 and a FN).
Try neutral colour not orange and black!
Great video and so right on. Thanks for this one, it’s a keeper.
You are brilliant. I have learned so much from your videos. Thank you.
Aly your models are little bit extreme,, but I agree as we age, even if we still have great bodies, less is more. I kind of replacing that with some edginess, and having style, it’s more sexy than any cropped top. I can’t believe, that time came, and I don’t feel like wearing cropped tops., well no more than 1-2 inches) . My body can pull it off, but I just feel like why ? It’s like trying too hard. Also form fitting dresses, I am kind of also moving away …. Have a blessed day🙏❤️
Aly, I'm 35 and these videos are certainly applicable to me as I am starting to see an older person looking back at me in the mirror.
I love your content. Happily for me, what you teach comes to me naturally with age 😂😂😂 still, it's fun to watch and very good to be reminded.
Hey Aly❣️124 in the chat❗️Wishing you an early Happy Birthday on 6-1-24❣️❣️❣️🎂🎂🎂🎈🎈🎈🎉🎉🎉👍👍👍😎
"What an insightful video! I'm genuinely excited to glean knowledge from it. Your generosity in sharing is truly appreciated."
Just finished your video. I liked your analysis of modern styles.
Love your blouse!
Excellent evaluations
All very good points. I'm mid 40s and currently struggling with having to modify my style, to account for that. Some things just somehow do not look 'right' on me anymore.
Right? I'm struggling with the same thing. I feel like I need a whole new wardrobe which just can't afford all at once. I don't even know what my new style could be.
Super vidéo Aly👍👍👍
Love this.
Wealth of helpful advice, Aly, per usual! I wish all females had access.
Soy culpable de cometer el ultimo "error" me encantan las camisetas con dibujitos 👕 no lo puedo evitar... 😭😭
Me encantó el vídeo, buenísimo!
Gracias Aly. ❤
The only way I've seen a t-shirt with a graphic worn in a cool way is with a matching pants and blazer with a simple crew neck graphic t-shirt underneath. The hair was relaxed, makeup natural, with fun shoes and sunglasses.
Thank you... 🥰🥰
Great content!
some are so vulgar, how can they wear that!
Thank you 😊
This was an excellent video. Thank you.
Good advices, you have such good eye for details :)
How old are the photos you use? A lot of them seem to be dated, even if you look at the presentation of the photo or the background...
Very helpful and relatable video ❤
Great video thank you!
I am guilty of rhine Stones...but only on bride's maid dresses and neutral ballerina flats. I don't Care though. I Love the glitz ;)
Oh, girl, these pics of gorgeous women from Odnoklassniki…
Aly, you're brutal! 🤣
Спасибо, очень наглядно! И интересно где ты находишь эти забавные фото?)))))
Most of these ladies are not from America, at least originally. I get the point of the video, but I do feel uneasy with how these pictures were chosen and with not covering the faces.
Why?
@@lorrainevart8827covering their faces would have protected their privacy and put focus on the clothing rather than on the person.
As far as choice of nationality of these women it seems that they are from the same country as the host of the video and it felt to ME like she made fun of her fellow countrywomen. I am having hard time explaining it. it’s just a hunch. Thank you for asking.
She does say that the women she is showing are beautiful, just little elements will improve their looks - that to my mind is respectful. Besides, please keep in mind, these entertaining videos are not necessarily made for the US market, only ;-) Hello from Europe
Naaah you're just searching for something to be offended by.
This was the video I needed today, sorry not sorry 😂😂😂
You look great in this shirt! 💚🖤💚
Wondering what you think of statement necklaces. Larger chunky…does that draw attention to neck and jowls, or divert the attention? Is it aging or flattering ?
Thanks a lot Aly
Greatr video as always- I do think the title could be "Style DON'Ts that make you look tacky /cheap'"!
Very interesting, thank you xx
Who cares if these models are not from The United States. Why are ppl even mentioning this. Great video for those who bother to listen.
Might be a sensitive subject for some, but can you do a video on plus size bodies? I'm currently struggling to dress my 2nd time postpartum self. Love your content!
Unfortunately the women in the pictures will never watch your channel or any other on fashion, that is why they dress like that in the first place.
i love like most of the images of women you chose as examples look like absolute queens
I don't know where you were getting some of these photos Aly, but they look like they are from magazines for 'special interests' 😅
Trinny Woodall goes crazy with wild combos.
She's got the _personality_ (and the skinny body type) to go with it. Plus she styles those things instead of just wearing them. She might be one of the rare birds to pull it off. My wild guess is that Susanna Constantine (who did "What Not to Wear" with her) doesn't go that route. I could be wrong, though- haven't seen her in ages.
Why you look older?
Because I AM older :_(
Uh oh I feel attacked but I love leopard yet I wear it with denim and western boots and never more than 1 piece. If it's a dress it's a simple cut and long.
The photo examples be slavic af
Agree with most but i liked the pictures of women in the cropped clothes! They looked better than some younger women... That a lady is older doesnt mean she has to dress like the first lady.
no, it made them look tacky.
Nah looked awful. Outdated and vulgar.
Aly, hats off to you, you’ve found the most hideous outfits a woman of that age could wear. Some of the outfits remind me of certain milieus, specifically the 'world's oldest profession.'
Thankfully at 68 I don’t do anything like this 🦋
girlfriend coming for her country for 10 minutes straight 😂
Once again you mailede it❤
❤
I do not search for videos like this normally but today it popped on my screen an I thought, let me not be judgmental and see what can be learnt from it. And the result is - absolutely nothing.
🙏🏻🙏🏻🥰
i would very happy if you made a house tpur of ypur house please 🏠 💕
if it would look cute on anyone LESS than twelve, it would NOT look good on an adult!!!!!
👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
where did you take these examples from 😂 2000s ? we're in 2024, nobody dresses like that anymore!
Oh yes they do in Russia
Aly is allowed to have her opinions and share her styling tips, which are often great. Unfortunately what is happening in the comment section is pure witch hunt. I just want to know, where the pics of these women are from and do they know thanks to Aly’s analysis they are portrayed as laughing stock?
Comments here are disgusting and reek of internalised misogyny, insecurities and pick-me attitude.
Women from those pics look happy, maybe some of them are also proud of their styling. Guess what, maybe even with their satin blouse they are good and happy people. Stop the witch hunt, let other women be happy.
From where did you compile this list of poorly dressed women ?
No need to show all the bad….just show some inspiring every day flattering outfits for a modern mature woman…
plz make a video on bollywood actresses body type
There is no "Bollywood actress body type". Body types are universal. She has a ton of videos
That would be fun to look at different Bollywood actresses body types!
😂😂😂 Russian рынок
Honestly I don’t think too tight, too short, too low does any favors for young, fit women, either. As women where is our dignity?
I have a teal satin shell I planned to wear under a merino cardigan. Maybe I should re-think that…
I actually think a shine from a satin blouse or shell is perfect. A hint of glamor. I wear it myself and gave gotten so many compliments. It's a very current look. Just do it with class and it will be a knock out. ❤
My mom always wearing those cartoon shirts 😂
