  • The rear driveshaft (propeller shaft) in my 2015 Jeep Cherokee (KL) has been howling for a long time. It has 2 carrier/center support bearings and unfortunately you cannot buy reliable replacements. You must replace the entire driveshaft. Normally I use as many OEM parts as possible but the OEM driveshaft in this case is very expensive. I was able to source an alternative from Rock Auto and Cardone. Not a hard job to replace.

Hi. I have a question. When I turn left or right, there is a grinding noise and vibration in the rear. This only happens when I press the accelerator pedal. I had to pull the F10 fuse so that only the front drive would work. Replacing AD1 and the rear differential did not help.

Excellent video. Your video helped me replace my own driveshaft in my 15 cherokee. First one for me.

What type of noise were you getting? Did you get noise while on the gas pedal and none while not accelerating?

Mines making a low freq kinda whining/ grinding noise at low speeds and largely goes away at highway speeds. I need to do this...but at over 500$ for the driveshaft...Jesus! Thats more than a Porsche Cayenne shaft!

Hey my friend I have a question I have a 2016 jeep Cherokee 4wd. I have an issue with it when I turn on the heater it only blows cold air on the driver side vents. But when I put it on high, it does blow hot air in both sides. But when I bring it down in temperature like below 81° the driver side, blows cold air but the passenger side, blows, hot air. What could it be? I would really appreciate your feedback. 👍🏽

Hey - check out this video I did a while back, I had something similar happen and it was a resistor in the dashboard. th-cam.com/video/EIDI-lqzba4/w-d-xo.html

There's a thermostat resistor in the plenum (if you have the dual-zone HVAC you have two). It's for the automatic heat/cooling control. When you go to Max Heat or Max Cool (on uConnect it says "HI" or "LOW"), then the resistors are not used. That's why it works on max heat or max cool but not in-between because the resistor (thermistor) on the non working side is bad.

ps: You can access the plenum by pulling out the radio and heater control panel underneath (search TH-cam for radio removal and follow the steps like to take your radio out - it takes only 15 minutes. Then look in your dash for the black blower/plenum and a sensor with a wire on it.

Hi, do you think that it is possible to drive on 2WD (F10 fusion pulled out) completely without driveshaft? Its really hard to get new driveshaft in europe and I want to try change carrier bearings, but I am afraid that it will take couple days to finish the job. Thanks for your opinion.

i hope u will keep adding jeep kl videos especially the 3.2l + awd there are lack of videos on this trim. For example PTU work I just did, there is only 1 fill valve no drain valve on mines u gotta suck out all the fluid with siphon 1st to renew the gear oils. Owning this vehicle is tricky for a lot of maintenance tasks, prob y not so many videos around. to change transmission oil you can't remove the filter without taking out the whole transmission out (crazy).
