If you've ever wondered what its like to drive a rally car at speed, this is your chance! Race the first days stages of the 1983 Rothmans Manx International with renowned rally expert Ari Vatanen and co-driver Terry Harryman reading the pace notes.
Revealing in-car camera footage provides gripping viewing as they negotiate the twists and turns in foggy and wet conditions, capturing some dramatic moments in their Opel Manta 400 rally car.
During one section Vatanen clips the wall at speed, spectacularly puncturing a tyre but they continue to drive on as rubber shreds from the wheel rims! A review of this documentary in Autosport sums it up nicely...

When describing his driving his driving style Ari once said "I take maximum risks at all times". Watch "Climb Dance" with Air Vatanen at the wheel as he goes up Pikes Peak. Literally jaw dropping.

2:00 "Dear God" says an experienced codriver whilst the driver loses grip as they drive over a bridge with a massive yellow wall on the left side, which could mean certain death.

50% "maybes" in the instructions yet Vatanan unphased executes a perfect drive like the Ice Man that he was...
The understeer? How could he drive the thing? Madness.
Understeer because of a puncture early in the stage, when he hit the wall and nearly missed the bridge, which brought the "Oh Dear God" moment.
You can hear Ari saying it and then the co-driver saying it loudly that they have a puncture.

he is very good and extremely talented but why does he use his gears so weirdly he lets the car get to extremely low revs before he downshifts and It looks as if he skipped gears when shifting up and he wasn't even going downhill can someone explain
Is just Ari Vatanen. I think he knows one or two things about driving. But that's just me...
Lower revs = more torque = less wheel spin = more control
