finally Andre was able to explore the work and life as a rice farmer.
It was so funny but very hard work as well.
But before we had a picnic at the lake.
In the end of the day we was enjoying the sunset while charms family was swimming in the lake. 🤩❤️😍

You know, for me the hardest part of planting rice is the scorching sun.
And not to forget the frustration that with every rice plant I put in, that when pulling out my hand the plant comes with it. Meanwhile seeing these Filipinos doing this fast fast fast without any problems 😀

I planted rice in my wife's family's rice field few years back. The locals had never seen a cano plant rice before. The rows were very crooked and the family laughed, but it grew very well. It took a week to wash the brown color stain off my feet ! Harvest time my crooked rice field produced more sacks of rice and the cano was a hero ! Not bad for 65 year americano. It looks like you all had a very fun day. Andre, my back would be hurting as well. I've done many years landscaping and that kind of work can quickly destroy one's back easily if you're not careful. But it does look like the rice slips went into the soft mud as easy as your toes did. But all in all, it did very much look like you all had a very wonderful day. Charmie, I heard you say that doing the rice planting made you miss your place. You are a very humble person Charmie, which is just one more thing that makes you attractive. Personalities can also make a person attractive, you know.
I remember my late asawa once sang part of a song about planting rice. I only remember the first line "Planting rice is never fun."

I was raised on a farm in South Carolina and we grew tobacco and also large fields of corn and cotton with the added huge vegetable gardens we grew for selling and personal use ! You guys are right! Farming is hard work and very underpaid and not as appreciated and regarded as a great career choice but our family has lived as mostly farmers for over four generations now and we hope the work ethics and maturity gains aren't lost in this new era we now face! Times are definitely changing and it seems that most changes aren't for the better! Anyways I enjoyed learning more about rice farming and curious to know how many fields like those you planted it takes to grow the rice used for a normal Filipino family to eat for one year?

When you work all day in the fields you get to know who is who real quick. All my life in the summers my family worked in the soybean fields hooking weeds. The hot buggy days were horrible but many days when the weather was cooler it was wonderful. When the rains were warmer we continued working anyway. We had two females that were so prissy normally but in the fields they worked like mules. People can shock you.
That's really make him a Filipino..

Ang galing naman ni nanay ang bilis mag tanim. Ako naman lumaki ako sa bukid pero sa pag gapas ako mabilis.8years old pa ako nun. Hangang sa nag 15years old nako. Saka ako nag punta dito sa manila nangamuhan. Pero masya sa probinsya khit hirap sa pera.
Ah so I am not the only european that planted rice in Bohol. Gosh this mud is very warm and afterwards cleaning your feet takes quite some effort. If don't clean them well enough and you wear slippers you have the bacteria making you a lot pain between your toes. By the way I noticed that SMS in bohol is faster then internet. When I came at the local store after I planted the rice poeple there already knew I became a filipino :)
Suggestions for further jobs: How about..
1) hacking a coconut with one of those big sharp knives
2) go in a pineapple farm and harvest some
3) how about harvesting a coconut? Of course not from a dwarf coconut :)
4) harvesting using a "bolhot machine" and drying rice and afterwards going to the rice mill. Of course we wanna see you carrying one of those rice bags.
5) My favourite .... go to the firestation and go out with them on a training for one of the barangays. This is very funny cause they training people to wear helmets, trousers and jackets that they cannot even button up.
6) Ask the jeepney driver if you may drive the jeepney for once.

@@thecrownsvlog Another idea just came to my mind, as it is raining a lot in Bohol at the moment.
Taking a shower in the rain that’s pouring down from the roof. Kids in Bohol do this a lot. It’s a very nice experience. I did this and was kind of cold water, very refreshing. It’s raining; so time for fun and not to sit at home and watch to outside.

believe it or not, there's a machine that can plant rice pretty fast and you don't have to brake your back using it. lot's of people don't know about it but it's nice to know it's out there in case you can get one..
